A Flat-Chest Believer Reincarnated in a World Where Women with Small Breasts Aren't Treated as Women ~ I Ended Up with a Flat-Chested Harem. - Chapter 24
After the commotion involving intruders in Kolibe, we arrived without incident at Remilba, the city where the Gustique main estate is located. Well, trouble within Gustique territory would be a serious problem in itself.
Remilba has a population of about 25,000, which makes it an upper-mid-tier city by the standards of this world. It is surrounded by gray stone walls and bordered by a lake to the north.
Our carriage passed through the city walls at the eastern gate. As we traveled down the main road, many citizens came out into the streets, waving their hands and scattering flowers in welcome. This wasn’t something we ordered them to do. The Gustique family is fairly well-regarded by the populace, so they naturally celebrated the marriage.
“It’s prosperous, yet it feels somewhat peaceful and tranquil.”
Risty said this while waving back at the citizens through the window.
“Yeah. Compared to the royal capital, it’s a calmer, more laid-back city. I hope you’ll grow fond of it.”
The Gustique main estate is located on a slightly elevated hill on the western side of the city. After passing through the main road, the carriage began climbing the slope. At the top of the hill stood the Gustique main estate.
When we arrived, Father and the others came out to greet us.
Since we arrived just before noon, we exchanged the usual welcome greetings and then had lunch together as a family. Even my retired grandmother, who usually spends her days quietly in a separate building, joined us at the table today.
Meanwhile, Rita and Mariel were overseeing the unpacking of Risty’s belongings.
The menu consisted of pan-fried cod, vegetable soup, and bread.
The cod was tender and flaky, with a rich, buttery flavor, and it was delicious. Risty seemed to enjoy it as well, eating with a cheerful smile.
“By the way, about the incident in Kolibe.”
Once our stomachs had settled, I brought up the topic.
The Kolibe intrusion incident should have already been reported to the Gustique main estate via courier before our return.
“Ah, yes, we’ve received the report. Still, I’d like to hear it directly from you, Folca.”
“Yes. By the time we reached the bridge leading to Kolibe…”
Responding to Father’s request, I recounted the events that had occurred in Kolibe.
Father nodded deeply as I spoke.
“Most of what you’ve shared aligns with the report I received, but Lady Risty is truly remarkable. The Earth attribute derivative ‘Lightning’ is difficult to control in terms of power, yet she executed it perfectly.”
That’s right, Father. My wife is amazing. Feel free to shower her with even more praise.
“I’m grateful to both of you for managing the situation so well. Thank you. We’ve decided to send additional personnel to Kolibe for the time being, pulling soldiers from various areas to reinforce the security. …Still, protecting the fields is quite a challenge.”
“Indeed. The fields are vast, so constant surveillance is difficult. Since we’ve gone to the trouble of developing cold-resistant varieties, we’d like to maintain exclusivity for as long as possible.”
Given that we’re cultivating cotton on a commercial scale, the fields inevitably cover a large area. Perfect security is an unattainable goal.
But this was something we’d anticipated. There’s no use dwelling on it too much.
I decided to shift the topic slightly.
“So, Risty, what would you like to do this afternoon? I’d like to give you a tour of the estate, but if you’re tired, we can postpone it until tomorrow.”
“I’m fine. I was just sitting in the carriage, after all.”
Sitting in a carriage can be tiring, but if she says she’s fine, then let’s proceed with the Gustique main estate tour after the meal.
“Alright, I’ll show you around the estate this afternoon. Is that okay with you, Father?”
“Of course. Go ahead and show her around.”
“I’ll help show Lady Risty around too!”
“Me too!”
Lyla and Aria chimed in, raising their hands. While I could handle the tour on my own, it’s important for Risty to bond with her new family members. The more opportunities for interaction, the better.
“Alright, let’s do it together.”
When I said this, Risty smiled and replied, “Thank you.”
After lunch, the four of us—Risty and my two younger sisters—began the tour.
“First, this is the North Wing. It houses the dining hall and family living quarters. The rooms for the Marquis and Marchioness, as well as our rooms and those of Brother Al and Lady Risty, are all located here. There’s also the Central Wing, the West Wing, and the South Wing, all connected by passageways.”
Lyla began explaining. In short, the North Wing serves as the private area for the head family. Despite being situated to the north, the rooms aren’t actually north-facing, so they get plenty of sunlight. The northern part of the estate offers a scenic view of the lake, which is why it was chosen as the living quarters for the Gustique family.
“Oh, and the outer walls of the North and Central Wings are made of magic-absorbing stone.”
I added this detail. Magic-absorbing stone, also known as anti-magic stone, has the property of absorbing a small amount of magic, making it highly resistant to magical attacks. While not indestructible, it’s difficult to penetrate the walls with magic from the other side. The dark gray stone isn’t the most aesthetically pleasing, so it’s covered with white plaster for a cleaner look.
“Are Mariel’s and the others’ rooms in this wing as well?”
“Yes. Of course, there are also rooms for maids and attendants.”
“Alright, next is over here!”
Aria announced as she dashed ahead.
“Don’t run in the hallways!”
I called out as I continued walking. My younger sister didn’t listen, but as long as we kept walking, Aria would have no choice but to stop. She paused at the corner, waving her arms enthusiastically and motioning, “This way, this way.”
Not wanting to keep her waiting too long, we picked up our pace.
Lyla pointed through a window toward a building with brown tile roofing.
“Over there, at the end of that passageway, is the West Wing. It houses rooms for retainers and live-in servants. There are 55 rooms in total: 15 shared four-person rooms, 20 single rooms, and 20 family rooms.”
Lyla still felt like a little girl until just recently, but here she was, giving a proper tour. Impressive.
The West Wing is essentially employee housing, so a window-side explanation sufficed. We continued down the hallway and entered the Central Wing.
“This is the Central Wing. It contains the hall, reception rooms, and guest rooms. I heard Lady Risty stayed here once before.”
“Yes, though I barely remember it. I think it happened once.”
We walked through the hallways, showing the locations of various rooms.
Next, we moved to the South Wing.
“The South Wing is primarily office space. It’s where Chief Steward Muzuri and the administrative staff work.”
The rooms here were mostly a mix of offices and meeting rooms, designed solely for practical use.
“And that concludes the tour of the main Gustique estate. There are also annexes and other separate buildings, but we’ll save those for another time.”
“Thank you for the tour, Lyla. I’ll show you the annexes later myself.”
Showing Risty the annexes would involve explaining the process of “selective breeding.” It would likely take some time, so it made sense to postpone it until tomorrow.
Risty smiled and said, “Thank you.”
“Got it. Aria, let’s head back to our rooms.”
The two sisters obediently returned to their rooms.
Just then, Rita and Mariel arrived.
“Lord Folca, Lady Risty, we’ve finished bringing in the luggage. Would you like to check it over?”
“Understood. Risty, let’s head to our room.”
The four of us walked down the hallway, returned to the North Wing, ascended one flight of stairs, and entered the room Risty and I would share. It wasn’t the room I had been using previously; we had moved to a new space within the North Wing after the marriage.
The room wasn’t just a single space—it was a suite consisting of two bedrooms, two studies, a living room, storage rooms including a wardrobe, a servants’ waiting room, and a bathroom.
In the Rolique Kingdom, it’s standard for couples to use separate bedrooms during pregnancy, which is why the suite included two bedrooms. The bathroom was a new addition, installed at my insistence.
We quickly checked each room.
Risty’s belongings had been brought in without issue. The majority of her luggage consisted of clothing, all neatly packed and accounted for.
Each room was fully furnished and seemed to be in perfect order.
The bedroom, the most important room to me personally, had a large bed spacious enough for two people to sleep comfortably. There was also a small table for two with matching chairs.
The bedroom’s interior featured ivory carpeting on the floor, teak paneling on the lower walls, and white plaster on the upper walls and ceiling. It was simple but elegant.
The windows were draped with turquoise floral curtains, and the table and chairs had brass embellishments. Two framed paintings I had bought with Risty during one of our outings were hung on the walls, giving the room a warm and personalized touch. It didn’t feel sterile or cold.
I liked the understated elegance of it.
“Risty, let me know if there’s anything you’d like to change. I can probably accommodate most requests.”
“Thank you. It’s a lovely room. Oh, the paintings from our date!”
Risty smiled.
Our sweet, romantic newlywed life seemed to be off to a great start.
At the Gustique estate in the royal capital, we had been trying for a child every other day, but we hadn’t done anything during the journey. Tonight, I planned to make up for lost time.
We are currently recruiting. CN/KR/JP Translators/MTLers are welcome!
