- V 2.2 Chapter 4.9 - Mofurlicious – Part 1
“This way, this way!”
I followed Leah and Ingrid as they led me to the inn they were staying at. When I’d asked my silly question about how to make my tail fluffier, Leah had gotten inexplicably excited and invited me to their room, saying, “I’ve got something perfect for you!”
“Wait… you’re staying here the whole time?”
We soon arrived at the inn where they’d been lodging for several nights. As expected of nobles, it was the kind of place that looked like it would cost a small fortune to stay in. Honestly, it looked more like a mansion than an inn.
“For beastkin, it’s especially important to be careful about security. Is your home secure, Kuna-san?”
As I stood there, dumbfounded by the grandeur of the inn, Ingrid offered that explanation.
“Y-yes, I’m staying in a room Simon prepared for me, so it’s fine.”
“Then that’s a relief.”
I really was grateful for that. It meant I didn’t have to worry about burglars or intruders.
“Come on, hurry up!”
Leah wagged her tail as she practically dragged me up to their room.
“Whoa…!”
The room was incredible, with a full view of the dungeon. One entire wall was glass, offering a sweeping view of the city beyond.
“Kuna-san, would you like something to drink?”
“Oh, you don’t have to trouble yourself…”
I felt guilty about intruding in someone else’s space, but Ingrid just smiled warmly as she began preparing tea in the built-in kitchen.
“Mother, no! Bath first!”
“Oh, is that so?”
Leah approached with an unsettling grin on her face, carrying something in her hands.
“You want your tail fur to be super fluffy, don’t you? You want to know the secret behind this tail, right?”
I swallowed hard and nodded.
“Y-yes, I do…!”
Was there some special trick to washing it!?
Leah chuckled softly, then declared proudly,
“Beastkin and humans have completely different hair types to begin with. To keep it fluffy, you need specialized care products made just for tails and ears.”
“S-specialized care products…?”
“That’s right. It’s one of the flagship products our trading company carries. After countless rounds of research, we perfected the formula to match beastkin fur exactly. A magical product…”
“W-what is it!?”
“It’s called the Tail Care Shampoo… Mofurlicious!”
With a dramatic bam, Leah held out a glass bottle filled with a shimmering liquid for me to see.
“Now, repeat after me! Mofurlicious!!”
“Eh?”
“Hurry!”
“M-Mofurlicious…?”
“Don’t you want to be fluffy!? Say it with more energy!!”
“M-Mofurlicious!!”
I yelled it as loudly as I could and finally earned her approval. What even is this…?
“Fufu. If you wash your tail with this shampoo, it’ll become the ultimate fluff! I made you say it just now, but once you’ve used it, you’ll be shouting it yourself the moment you get out of the bath.”
“?”
I couldn’t quite keep up with Leah’s strange energy.
“Sorry, Kuna-san,” Ingrid said with a small sigh. “Mofurlicious was the first product Leah ever worked on from development to distribution. She’s very attached to it.”
“Well, it is selling well, so I suppose that means it’s a good product…”
While Ingrid was explaining, Leah suddenly grabbed my hand.
“Come on, the bath’s this way.”
“Eh?”
“I said the bath is this way.”
Bath?
Does she mean… I’m getting in the bath now?
“I’m going to make you fluffy myself.”
“!? Hyaaa!?”
And just like that… I was about to be Mofurlicious-ed.
