- Chapter 15 - The Fish King
The deformed Fishermen raised their prey and handed them to the King. It was a deformed squirrel.
The Fisherman King never refused any offering. As soon as it had its hands on the squirrel, it put the struggling filth directly into its mouth.
Its mouth, which looked no different from the mouth of a normal fish, could actually be opened to a right angle of 90 degrees.
A clicking sound came from its mouth, and the sound of chewing bones followed, making the two witnesses feel numb.
The deformed squirrel was no different from a snack in its mouth.
”FISH!”
The few Fishermen who had caught Wenbei and Ji Mingyuan couldn’t wait to offer the fish they caught to their King.
Wen Bei was thoughtful for a moment, then quickly said to Ji Mingyuan: “Play dead, quick!”
Even though Ji Mingyuan had doubts in his heart, he did not choose to question Wen Bei’s orders.. Instead, he immediately closed his eyes, made his hands and feet go limp, and he even stopped breathing.
Only his heartbeat could prove that he is alive.
Wen Bei also did the same thing, but he kept an eye open and observed what the Fishermen planned to do.
Sure enough, the Fishermen couldn’t change their way of thinking from back when they were still humans.
They used to be fishermen and only caught the freshest fish, so naturally they didn’t like dead fish.
And to mention offering dead fish, that was out of question.
But the two fish were still alive and kicking along the way just a few minutes ago. Why did they ‘turn inside out’ all of a sudden?
Wen Bei looked at the chameleon which was also motionless, but it was not because of its intelligence, but because it had been maimed along the way to the point of being unable to move.
‘Sorry Chameleon, there’s no other option.’
Wen Bei silently apologised to the lizard in his heart, then put his right hand on the gun on his waist, and using the Fisherman holding him as a cover, he fired a shot at the lizard’s tail. The recoil made his palms ache.
And this shot did live up to his hopes and suffering. The bullet hit the spot where the scales had fallen off and, thus, directly penetrated into the flesh. It rolled over in pain and began to scream again. Its tail kept slapping everything around it, and the Fishermen tried to avoid it. Not as good as being dumped on him.
But they were not angry. Instead, they were so happy that they stepped forward to surround the lizard, laughing together and repeating the word: “FISH, FISH!”
The lizard filth was a fresh fish.
To supply the King, what they needed was such a lively fish.
So before the lizard could recover from the immense pain, it was grabbed by its limbs and brought directly to the Fish King ‘s mouth.
The King opened its mouth, revealing the densely intertwined teeth. There seemed to be hundreds of them, and each one was very sharp, like a shark’s tooth.
It viciously bit the tribute handed directly into its mouth. The lizard’s unpleasant screams were mixed with a heart-chilling clicking sound, until gradually, the lizard’s screams became fainter, and only the clicking sound of chewing.
The scales that were difficult for even bullets to penetrate through were just some slightly chewy meat in its mouth.
The King’s green fish mouth was surrounded by blue pus and minced meat. When he bit, the densely packed teeth were covered with meat foam.
Wen Bei peeked with numbness in his scalp and felt nauseous in his heart, but he did not dare to give in to his strong urge to retch.
Finally, he succeeded in waiting and watching until the King finished eating the whole lizard. The lizard was not small, and it had already eaten a lot of ‘fish’ prior to that, so it simply shut its eyes just after eating.
The surrounding Fishermen stopped their movements one after another, knowing that their King was full.
Their mission of the day had been completed successfully.
So the remaining Fishermen stared at the two stale ‘dead fish’.
The strong smell of rotting fish surrounded Wen Bei once again, as a group of Fishermen approached.
In their eyes, the young man’s beautiful appearance was no different from any other fish, and he looked thin and had less meat. So he was bound to not be as delicious as the taller and stronger fish next to him.
As a result, there were more fishermen around Ji Mingyuan.
There were only two around Wen Bei.
His heart tightened, and he realised that he had still missed a step.
Although the Fishermen would feed the King the fresh food they hunt, it was only a temporary action. After all, they were still filth, driven by their worst desires. As long as the King was fed well, they would still directly want to eat whatever was caught. They would bite it into pieces and then devour it with no mercy.
Now, his original plan of waiting it out for an opportunity to escape was forced to be impossible to accomplish.
If he didn’t quickly think of a way to get out of the situation, then both his good employee and himself will fail to escape and succumb to the fate of being eaten up.
Wen Bei could only open his eyes first and stand up from the pole he was leaning on.
As soon as he moved, the other Fishermen looked over one after another, their bulging eyes turning as if they were about to fall out at any moment.
”Fish….fish…”
They grinned and continued to say vague words while moving towards Wenbei.
Ji Mingyuan’s fists clenched instantly.
Wen Bei shook his head at him, signalling him not to act rashly.
At least one of the two of them must not fall into such a passive state, and it is best for this person to be Ji Mingyuan who has special powers.
Ji Mingyuan had experienced many life and death situations, so he was naturally aware that he could act impetuously in such a situation. He could only grit his teeth and pretend to be dead, while observing Wen Bei’s situation with anxiety.
The Fisherman who was the first to approach Wenbei stretched out his hand and grabbed his wrist. There were frog-like webs on his palm, which secreted disgusting viscous liquid the second it touched his skin.
Wen Bei resisted the urge to draw the gun. With the help of the slippery liquid, he successfully withdrew his wrist with a slight twist.
He arched his back, taut like an extremely beautiful long bow, and twisted his powerful thighs towards the nearest fisherman, hooking him and tripping him directly under his own weight.
Another Fisherman was also caught off guard and fell heavily on his companion.
Unfortunately, this kind of fighting technique was not very effective when facing Class A filth. He had immediately angered the Fisherman and was pressed hard on his shoulder blades.
The Fisherman’s fingernails became sharp, and they only lightly touched the skin of Wen Bei’s exposed arm. But the nails were so sharp that they immediately opened a huge gash.
Blood gushed out from the wound, along with a scent that was deadly to filth.
The originally fierce-looking Fisherman’s eyes stopped shaking immediately and he looked straight at the blood leaking from Wen Bei’s arm.
Wen Bei had a premonition that it was not a good thing. His cat eyes widened, and he stepped back.
Such an action was like stepping on a switch.
All the Fishermen began shouting crazily: “WHAT A DELICIOUS FISH!”
All eight fishermen crowded over, their eyes protruding frighteningly, reflecting Wen Bei’s thin figure.
What was even more terrifying was the Fish King . The King, who had not opened its eyes since the noise first appeared, suddenly woke up after smelling the smell of blood. It looked straight at the place where the scent was with ferocious eyes.
It pointed its fingers at Wen Bei and spoke incomprehensible words.
The large pile of rotten flesh on its body was shaking all over because of anxiety.
This time, the Fishermen didn’t listen to their King. They still surrounded Wen Bei tightly, and every Fisherman’s eyes were gradually filled with disgusting greed and appetite.
The sweet fragrance was enough to make all high-level filth be agitated even if it only leaks out a little. The filth resembled bugs having smelled little honey which had somehow leaked out. It was driving them out of control.
They all had one common desire— they wanted to eat him up.
No instincts controlled them any longer. Their only impulse was to tear up and chew the food in front of them, without wasting even a drop of blood or marrow, biting into the skull and sucking it.
Wen Bei never knew that his blood was so attractive to these filth.
Was it somehow related to his 0-pollution-level physique?
Wen Bei’s brain was firing rapidly, and before the first Fisherman made a move, he chose to run away.
And he ran straight to the spot where the Fisherman King was resting.
Anyone would have thought that he was crazy for running directly towards the more terrifying filth.
But Ji Mingyuan had already seen the scene where he used the mother spider and its larvae to kill each other. As soon as he saw this move, he realised that Wen Bei wanted to repeat the same trick.
Ji Mingyuan raised his forehead and smiled, and the black hawk flew behind Wen Bei in an instant, blocking him from an attack from the nearest Fisherman.
The Fish King ‘s IQ was not high. It couldn’t figure out why the fishermen who had never dared to disobey themselves suddenly became disobedient. But when ur saw the most delicious fish running towards itself, its eyes suddenly lit up in a weird light: “Fish.”
The sound was unpleasant, as if the vocal cords had been crushed.
Ji Mingyuan raised his voice: “Be careful! That pollutant is Category 2A!”
Wenbei only knew that the levels of the filth were divided from D upwards, so this was the first time he heard of the level 2A.
His current situation was really appropriate for him to enquire about it. He ran not far away from the Fish King and then stopped just when he was about to escape from it.
The Fisherman chasing after him grabbed him. This time, it was finally not disturbed by the annoying Black Eagle. The Fisherman’s fish-like mouth opened by a crack, and before it could be happy about catching the prey, it was immediately grasped by the Fish King which had finally reacted. It bit the Fisherman’s head and pulled it upward, easily plucking it off entirely.
The headless Fisherman fell limply and hit the ground hard, stirring up a cloud of dust.
The other Fishermen were so frightened that they fled in all directions, so as not to be immediately caught by the crazy King.
The King couldn’t stand its subordinates coveting over its favourite food. It made a hoarse threatening sound from its gills behind its ears, hissing like a snake spitting out its tongue.
Under the threat, the Fishermen dared to not come any closer. They stood not far from there and stared at Wen Bei. Their eyes towards the Fish King were full of subtle jealousy.
How could he make a group of filthy pollutants turn against each other?
Wen Bei sighed inwardly, his eyes froze slightly. He raised the knife at his waist and slashed it directly into the palm of his hand.
Suddenly more blood spurted out.
The Fishermen who were still watching couldn’t hold back their temptations anymore. They were confused by the sweet smell, just like how a donkey would be with a carrot hanging in front of it. Even in the face of a whip, it would try every means to get a bite.
Another Fisherman approached, and the Fish King ‘s meal was interrupted again.
It angrily stretched out its fist and hit the nearest Fisherman, with a ton-level of force that directly opened cracks in the ground.
It was conceivable that if such a punch fell on a person, no matter how strong the person’s body was, it would directly be crushed into flesh.
The Fisherman was well prepared and dodged the blow.
Other Fishermen rushed towards Wen Bei, and the Fish King could only first deal with the other Fishermen, roaring angrily.
Although there was a difference of levels between them, the other Fishermen were at least Class A filth. They were not directly killed by the Fish King due to their numerical advantage.
Wen Bei’s nerves were extremely tense, and he did not dare to let himself relax even a little bit. At that moment, the monsters were fighting like wild beasts who fought for territory. He was everyone’s ultimate unified target.
No matter how painful it was, it would only last for more than ten minutes.
The Black Eagle had always been with him. Whenever a Fisherman took the opportunity to go after him, the Black Eagle would block the attack.
