Can a System Have Bad Intentions? - Chapter 54
Lu Tang swallowed nervously and slowly turned around to smile at Qin Mo. “What does Big Brother need?”
Since coming down the mountain, this was the first time Lu Tang had called Qin Mo “Big Brother.”
Qin Mo crossed his long legs, leaning against the doorframe with his arms crossed, looking at the little fool. The scene of Lu Tang wanting to recognize him as her father flashed through his mind, and he couldn’t help but feel his gaze soften.
“I have something to tell you.”
As he spoke, Qin Mo glanced over Lu Tang’s head into her room and then looked back at her.
“Can I come in?”
Lu Tang quickly stepped aside. “Please come in.”
Lu Tang’s room on the third floor was structured just like Qin Mo’s, with the same facilities. However, once inside, Qin Mo felt something different. After glancing around the room, he noticed a distinct difference in the atmosphere. The room seemed to carry the delicate and refined scent of its owner.
Frowning slightly, Qin Mo walked to a chair and sat down. Lu Tang poured him a cup of tea and placed it in front of him. “What does Big Brother need?”
Qin Mo got straight to the point and took out a small white porcelain bottle from his pocket. “I need you to apply some medicine for me.”
Lu Tang was taken aback. “Why do you need my help to apply medicine? What happened?”
Before Lu Tang could finish speaking, Qin Mo began to take off his shirt.
Lu Tang exclaimed, “What are you doing?”
“My injury is on my back. Song Qingzhan won’t be back until tonight, and I can’t wait that long.”
Seeing the gruesome wound on Qin Mo’s back, Lu Tang gasped. “How did this happen?”
“It happened in Zhao Village. It was healing, but it got worse today.”
Qin Mo’s explanation was brief, but Lu Tang understood. She took the medicine bottle and went to the table to prepare the medicine.
“You need to take out three pills, dissolve them in water, and then apply the paste to the wound.”
Lu Tang followed Qin Mo’s instructions, carefully dissolving the pills in a small cup of water. She gently applied the paste to Qin Mo’s wound, her hand trembling slightly as she worked.
As her fingers touched Qin Mo’s wound, his body tensed. He had never felt this way when Song Qingzhan applied medicine.
With each touch, Lu Tang’s delicate fingers seemed to send a strange sensation through Qin Mo’s body. He shifted uncomfortably.
“Can you be a bit more forceful? You’re weaker than a mosquito,” Qin Mo muttered.
Lu Tang rolled her eyes. “Do you want me to push my finger into your wound?”
Qin Mo was taken aback, and both of them fell silent. After a moment, Lu Tang continued applying the medicine, and Qin Mo focused on the sensation of her touch.
After finishing, Lu Tang sat back and observed Qin Mo’s reaction. “Anything else you need, Big Brother?”
Qin Mo’s eyes fell on the paper on Lu Tang’s desk. It had names and terms written on it: Gu Yunhe, Yu Shunhai, opium.
Qin Mo’s expression turned serious. “Opium?”
Lu Tang hesitated. “I was just doodling.”
But Qin Mo wasn’t convinced. “Doodling? This looks like the secret recipe for Yunyang Restaurant’s famous osmanthus wine.”
Lu Tang’s heart skipped a beat. “What do you mean?”
Qin Mo’s gaze intensified. “Are you investigating Gu Yunhe or Yu Shunhai?”
He paused, his voice dropping. “I don’t like owing favors. Since you helped me with the medicine, I’ll return the favor by helping you. I can give you information about either Gu Yunhe or Yu Shunhai.”
Lu Tang stared at Qin Mo, weighing his words. She had always found him dangerous, but now she sensed something more: a hidden agenda.
“Are you trying to trick me, Big Brother?” Lu Tang said, leaning against the table.
Qin Mo was surprised by her directness. “You’ve got a sharp mind, Lu Tang. I’ll tell you everything about both Gu Yunhe and Yu Shunhai if you help me with something.”
