Does This Love Suit Your Taste? - Volume 1 Chapter 4.1

A week has passed since I became Shirahime’s servant.
Let me show you the highlights of a drastically changed day in the life of the school’s number one delinquent.
After quickly finishing preparations, I head to school.
Early morning, 7:30 am.
I’m working hard at cleaning up the nearby nature park along with our school’s Community Volunteer Club.
It seems Shirahime made the appointment, and I was forced to participate.
“Kiminami-kun! Come over here! There are lots of cans and plastic bottles! It’s a little out of season, but they must have had a cherry blossom viewing party.”
“Yes-yes… “
The club president reports to me about the scattered trash as if he’s looking at a field of flowers instead of litter.
Why is he so excited? Wouldn’t it be better if there was no trash?
At 8:40 am, I returned to school, and finally, classes began.
The first period today is mathematics. Shirahime had entrusted me with notebooks for each subject, and copying the blackboard into all of these notebooks was the minimum requirement.
I spend almost every class chasing the characters on the blackboard.
At 9:30 am, I head to the music room after the first period is over.
“Ah~, you’re a lifesaver, Kiminami-kun! These intruments are too heavy to carry alone… but it’s so easy with two people! La la la~♪ Come on, Kiminami-kun, join in!”
“Lu… Lululu~…”
This too of course was under the direction of Shirahime’s ‘help them out’ command.
I assisted the music teacher in carrying instruments from the preparation room to the music room while having a mysterious jam session.
By the way, music class is an elective, and I hadn’t chosen it. I’m basically an outsider.
The break after the second period ends.
Break time was a rare moment of rest from work, so I rushed to the vending machine.
“Wow! Did you go out of your way to buy this for me? Thank you♡”
I handed a milk tea to Shirahime, who was leisurely preparing for the next class.
You’re the one who sent me a LINE message telling me to buy it…
During the third period, the modern literature teacher with glasses praised me while I was taking notes.
“Kiminami-kun… you’re very focused today. That’s an excellent attitude. Since it’s such a good opportunity, let’s have Kiminami-kun read the text of ‘The Moon over the Mountain’ first. Alright, please stand up.”
“Ah… Y-Yes. Uh, this Kanji is…”
“It’s ‘Rousai.'”
“『Rousai no—』 um?”
“Richou.”
” 『Rousai no Richou wa——』…?”
“Hakugakusai ei.”
“『Rousai no Richou wa, Hakugakusai ei——』 …?”
“Well done.”
“…yes”
After the third and fourth periods ended, it was lunch break.
I quickly finished my lunch with bread I bought at the cafeteria and headed to the library.
The library gets particularly crowded during lunch break. In place of the busy librarian, I’ve been entrusted with the task of returning the books that have been borrowed and then returned to their original places on the shelves.
However, I still have no clue which shelf is for what or which books go back to which shelves.
“Let’s see… this is a novel, and it’s under the ‘Sa’ category… found it! Damn, it’s so high… I can’t reach it… whoa!”
“K-Kiminami-kun!?”
After a big incident, my lunch break was still not over.
Next, I water the flowers in the rotary with the janitor in the courtyard.
It’s usually done in the morning, but they shifted the time for me since I was helping out the volunteer club today.
“As expected of the man Rira-chan saw potential in! Nīchan, you’ve got a nice touch! I’ll be counting on you for the courtyard later too~”
“Oh, no, there’s still time…”
“Ah! Then it’s fine after the fifth-period class is over.”
“What… after the fifth period, I was supposed to be free…”
“Really… it can’t be helped then. I guess I have no choice but to ask Rira-chan again——”
“I’ll do it.”
Work continued after that, and finally, it was after school.
I’m in the staff room.
“Hmm-mmh, things do change when they change…”
Sitting in an office caster chair, our class’s homeroom teacher, Hirai Anzu, tucks her flaxen long hair behind her ear as she intently examines the journal I wrote.
“Even though you were asked, I never imagined that Kiminami-kun would actually start writing the class journal… Sensei is so happy♪”
“…Well.”
Writing the class journal, this too is one of the tasks commanded by S-Hime. Lately, it has become my daily routine to write and submit it.
But when I think about the craziness of that woman in hindsight… what a woman she is. Where does all that work even come from?
Where does she even get all this work from?
Of course it’s a rule, and we kissed a lot this week.
It was a lot, really. So much so that I could talk to a mouse right now.
(TN: I usually changed it (to mwah, for example) but kissing is usually described with chu チュッ. He’s saying, ‘So much so that I could talk to a mouse right now’ because Chu-chu-chu = mouse squeaking.)
Fortunately, I was given a bit more leeway on the weekends, ‘The turnover for lips is about three days, so you’re just safe,’ or something like that.
It was just in time to avoid Shirahime’s devilish kisses.
“I was surprised at first. When you came to the staff room on your own and called my name, I thought you were picking a fight with Sensei.”
” …. “
“And then, in the ‘reflections’ section, ‘There were a few people sleeping during class,’ it’s like, just until the other day, you were one of those being written about.”
“Yes…”
I want to sleep too. I’m forced to take notes every period and don’t have any time to sleep.
By the way, the journal’s content is stiff because I’m just dictating exactly what Shirahime says.
“Moreover! The janitor was praising you! Lately, there’s been a boy with brown hair and a pin in his bangs who has been a great help besides Shirahime-san. That’s Kiminami-kun, right?”
“…well, yes.”
“I thought so! Ah, I’m so happy. And then——”
“Um, sorry but…”
“Oh, what is it?”
Too much praise. It’s over the top.
Feeling embarrassed, I shook off the teacher’s hands that were clasping mine.
“Is it okay if we stop now… Shirahime is waiting for me.”
“Ah, of course. You two really seem close~”
“No, it’s not like that… I mean, she has other friends too.”
“Oh my, do you really think so? Shirahime-san is kind and charming, so she’s popular and gets along with everyone. But it’s quite rare to see her spending time with just one person for long. That’s why, as her Sensei, I’m actually a little relieved that Shirahime-san has found a friend she can open up to. Oh, keep this between us, okay?”
Hmm… true, it seems like Shirahime has a lot of friends, but when I think of ‘Shirahime’s friend’, I can’t think of any specific person that comes to mind.
Well, it might just be that I don’t know.
