Alia wrapped her arms around Su Yu’s neck. “Let’s not talk about this now. Tomorrow is your match.”

Both Su Yu and Li Mu nodded.

Lin Tang continued, “Good. Show us the full extent of your talents, young men.”

“Humanity must fight for its place against the demonic lairs. And you, as the next generation, must fight even harder.”

“Don’t worry. As long as you’re still breathing, we’ll pull you back.”

Raising his voice, Lin Tang declared, “The first match begins!”

Lin Tang’s words silenced the crowd. Every spectator held their breath, waiting for the two to make their first moves.

Li Mu sneered coldly. “You crippled Lei He. He’s now afraid of his own pet beast. Your ability is truly dangerous.”

Previously, they had all underestimated Su Yu’s ability.

Compared to the physical wounds inflicted by their own pet beast, the loss of trust between Beastmaster and pet was the real weapon that destroyed someone like Lei He.

Su Yu replied, “Right back at you. If you wanted to target me, you could’ve done so directly. Involving others just shows you lack even basic decency.”

Li Mu spread his arms. “Decency? That’s just an excuse for losers.”

Behind Su Yu, the jet-black Screeching Wyvern wings spread wide. “Is that so? Too bad you won’t get what you want.”

A raindrop fell from the sky, its crisp sound on the ground marking the start of their duel.

“Appear, Shadow Dance Wraithcrow!”

As if magma had erupted from the ground, the Crimson Flame Demon materialized—a towering six-meter-tall giant wreathed in flames.

And just as the rumors predicted, Li Mu indeed had a second pet beast.

Shadows surged like a tide, forming a humanoid figure out of the darkness. It wielded a strange, ghostly staff and wore a hooded cloak of deep black and purple. Its face, however, was that of a crow’s beak.

Xia Tingen immediately recognized the pet beast.

“The Li family is truly willing to spare no expense!”

“That’s a Shadow Wraithcrow from the Shadow Abyss Lair in Milica, sequence no. 16. Known as assassins born of shadow, they were responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of Beastmasters during the Great War with the Milica Nation, causing the collapse of the Shadow Abyss frontlines. And now the Li family has captured one.”

“This will be trouble for Su Yu.”
