- Chapter 47 - Global Controversy! Great Xia’s Leaders Gather!
The moment Su Yu stepped out of the simulation field, he could hear the roaring commotion from the adjacent Rose Plaza. It had turned into an endless war of words—an unruly and chaotic shouting match.
Haters, supporters, and trolls were all present, forcing Imperial Capital University to dispatch over ten Star-Badged Mentors to contain the escalating situation and disperse the spectators.
Lin Li’s face was dark as he led Su Yu and the others through a back entrance toward the clock tower at Imperial Capital University.
As soon as Su Yu was back in the real world, he sneakily checked his phone. Unsurprisingly, the internet was ablaze, flooded with clips and posts about what had just happened. However, out of respect for Lin Li’s presence, he refrained from openly scrolling.
They were brought into an office, where Lin Li, still fuming, said, “Wait here. Our principal will be here shortly!”
“I warn you—don’t wander around, and don’t say a word!”
Su Yu nodded lightly.
I’d have to be insane to go wandering.
Even though he had successfully contracted Kong Huanyuan, if Imperial Capital University’s students found out he was here, thousands of them, along with tens of thousands of their pet beasts, would likely hunt him down. They could drown him in saliva alone.
After Lin Li stormed off, the office sank into an eerie silence.
Kong Huanyuan sat in a state of utter despair, like an empty shell whose soul had departed. Yan Ling’er, meanwhile, wore a completely bewildered expression, still unable to comprehend why Alia had targeted her at the end and why her body now felt… different.
She had sensed a change—a trace of magic circuits forming within her. Subtly, she was no longer fully human.
Alia nonchalantly pulled out a bunch of grapes from her storage artifact and pointed at Su Yu with her finger.
Su Yu understood immediately and activated Taste Link.
After a battle like that, everyone’s fates had shifted.
Taking advantage of the break, Su Yu took out his phone to check the online chatter.
What he saw made his jaw drop.
The top trending topic was:
“Campus Belle Hunter Su Yu”
—with over 300 million searches.
Clicking on it, he was met with endless clips of the final scene from the tournament, showing Kong Huanyuan kneeling before him, sucking on his finger.
“Su Yu’s Real Talent Revealed! Turns Out His True Ability Is Contracting via Blood!”
“This old slickster is clearly targeting campus belles! First Alia, now Kong Huanyuan. A word of advice to other schools: Protect your campus belles and don’t let Su Yu anywhere near them!”
“The Male Students of Desert Beastmaster University Officially Oppose Su Yu! If Magic City’s team includes Su Yu, we’ll refuse all hospitality!”
Among the comments were outraged posts from verified Imperial Capital University students:
“Su Yu! I’ll fight you to the death! This grudge won’t be resolved until one of us is gone! (╬ಠ益ಠ)”
“My heart is breaking! Killing Su Yu won’t be enough to soothe my rage! o(╥﹏╥)o”
“Word on the street is that Su Yu’s been taken to Zone A by a Star-Badged Mentor.”
Amused by the chaos, Su Yu suddenly shivered. He glanced out the window to confirm the clock tower was in Zone C, allowing himself a moment of relief.
The uproar wasn’t limited to Great Xia. Among the foreign Beastmaster instructors gathered at Rose Plaza to observe Great Xia’s younger generation, Su Yu’s contract with Kong Huanyuan had already made it to the top three trending topics on a certain international platform.
After a quick machine translation, Su Yu noticed that while there was the usual envy, jealousy, and resentment, there were also accusations from Sakura Nation and Nether Nation claiming that Great Xia was fabricating this to gain strategic support for the global demonic lair crisis.
Their reasoning? Well, because they had done the same thing two years ago.
Su Yu chuckled dryly and put his phone away. This wasn’t the time to focus on that. The immediate problem was how to survive the present ordeal.
—
Creak.
The door opened, and Shangguan Ling stepped inside.
She approached Su Yu, equal parts exasperated and amused. “You… Su Yu, do you realize you’ve practically torn the heavens apart?”
“My god, I have no idea how to clean up this mess.”
“Either way, I’m out of my depth now. The principal himself is rushing over. Just earlier, in the Imperial Capital principal’s office, Principal Jiang Huairen got into a fight with our principal, Ning Hanwen, inside a Sacred Domain barrier. Three of Great Xia’s governors have arrived, and even the military is involved—Commander Liu is on his way.”
Su Yu blinked. What the hell?
How had things escalated to this level?
A mere student had managed to attract the attention of so many top figures, all seemingly intent on holding him accountable!
Even more alarming, the online frenzy had suddenly been wiped clean—a clear sign that someone was suppressing the information.
Su Yu rubbed his forehead. “Would letting the Imperial Capital principal curse me out solve anything?”
If that worked, I’d let them insult me for three days straight without complaint.
Shangguan Ling couldn’t help but laugh. “You wish! You think you can get away with just some scolding after pulling something like this?”
She herself was anxious. This was a particularly thorny issue.
Su Yu’s reputation aside—he was already a target of scorn at Magic City, and now he had completely ruined his standing at Imperial Capital as well—the real problem was that he had taken a God-Tier Sequence from them.
The Nine-School Alliance was a critical part of Great Xia’s demonic lair defense system. No school would tolerate such a blatant loss.
The worst-case scenario was something she didn’t even dare to imagine.
—
The door opened again, and Lin Li entered, his anger still evident. “They’re all here. You lot, follow me.”
They were led into a spacious hall.
The hall itself was almost empty, with only a few figures seated around a large round table in the center. The table, made of a pale gray material that emitted a faint chill, appeared to be crafted from a type of crystal mined from the Eternal Calamity Lair. Sitting around it were representatives from four factions.
On the right side of the table sat Magic City University’s Principal Ning Hanwen and Vice Principal Gu Yi. On the left were three governors of Great Xia’s Nine Divisions, along with Commander Liu. At the center were Imperial Capital University’s Principal Jiang Huairen and their teaching director. Off to the side sat representatives from Jianghe University.
Even from a distance, Su Yu could feel the overwhelming pressure emanating from the room.
It was as if countless pairs of eyes were scrutinizing his every move.
However, after contracting Kong Huanyuan, the ethereal Void Contract in Su Yu’s spiritual sea had surrounded his mind with a faint, illusory mist, leaving even these powerful figures puzzled.
This was Su Yu’s first time standing before the true elites of the Beastmaster world.
Normally, even meeting Beastmasters at the third rank—Nirvana, Transformation, or Reincarnation Realm—was rare. Higher tiers like Semi-Divine, Mythic, or Sacred Domain Beastmasters were practically unheard of.
Yet, in this hall, there were likely several Sacred Domain Beastmasters present.
For the first time, cold sweat formed on Su Yu’s forehead.
Had he really kicked a hornet’s nest?
But at this point, there was no turning back. What was done was done. No point in being scared now.
Straightening his back, Su Yu stepped forward.
Lin Li announced, “Principal, Governors, Commander, I’ve brought them.”
Jiang Huairen’s furrowed brows deepened. His hand trembled slightly as he said coldly, “Take a seat.”
To Su Yu’s side, Commander Liu—looking younger than the other officials—flashed him a friendly smile. Su Yu paused for a moment, recognizing him as Liu Xuan’s father.
So, the Liu family was indeed one of the Nine Pillar Families, and her father truly held a powerful position.
Meanwhile, Ning Hanwen remained composed, neither looking at Su Yu nor speaking, as if none of this concerned him.
Jiang Huairen was the first to speak, his voice low. “Huanyuan, you…”

TL Note: I’m unsure how to translate “Nether Nation” (寒冥人, Hánmíngrén), which literally means “Hanming people.” 寒 (Hán) can mean frost, cold, or frozen, while 冥 (Míng) can refer to nether, dark, or abyss. If you have any suggestions, please let me know!
We are currently recruiting. CN/KR/JP Translators/MTLers are welcome!
