Genius Trainee: My Husband Isn't Human - Chapter 16
Before Luo Jingcha could even stand up, Xue Hua beside her leaned over and said, “Teacher Zhao, this trainee had an incident a few days ago and was hospitalized, so she probably didn’t come.”
“That’s a pity. I saw this girl’s previous grade evaluations were all A’s, and her dance was A+. She should be pretty good.”
The instructor shook his head, preparing to call the next person, but unexpectedly Luo Jingcha suddenly jumped up and loudly said, “Here!”
The instructor looked up at her and asked, “Are you Luo Jingcha?”
Luo Jingcha walked forward and said, “Yes.”
The instructor glanced at Xue Hua with an ambiguous look in his eyes, “Didn’t you say she was hospitalized?”
“This…”
Xue Hua didn’t know how to explain. She clearly hadn’t sent any notification to Luo Jingcha, so how did this damn girl come on her own?
Luo Jingcha glanced at her and sneered inwardly, but said on the surface, “Teacher, please don’t misunderstand. I was indeed injured and hospitalized for a few days. Sister Hua even told me to rest well, but I was afraid of missing training so I came over on my own first.”
The instructor nodded approvingly after hearing this and didn’t pursue Xue Hua’s responsibility, “Since you still have injuries, let’s skip the dance evaluation. I see you’re the only one in the company with an A+ rating, so your abilities should be good.”
He looked at Luo Jingcha’s face with satisfaction and said, “Your appearance is also very good. Then sing a song for me, let me see how your vocal abilities are.”
“Alright.”
Luo Jingcha cleared her throat. The music’s prelude began – it was a very rock song. The instructor saw Luo Jingcha’s body swaying with the music and couldn’t help but smile.
“This is love——love love, I love you——“
“Stop stop stop!”
When it reached the climax, the instructor finally couldn’t take it anymore and quickly raised his hand to stop her. This was the first trainee he had stopped so far.
The instructor picked at his ears. What the hell was that singing? Was this a joke?
The frantic music stopped, and Luo Jingcha smiled and asked, “Teacher, how was my singing? Can I get an A?”
“Get an A? Even giving you a C would be too much!” the trainees below heckled.
“You go down first. The results will be announced after the evaluation is complete.”
The instructor didn’t say anything harsh, but just told her to go down with a dark expression.
Luo Jingcha thought to herself that Teacher Zhao really had a good temper. She had been screeching for so long, her pitch had gone completely off-key, yet he still didn’t scold her. His cultivation was really good.
After she went down, Xue Hua quickly came down to find her, pulling her aside and saying, “Who gave you permission to come? And when you came, you didn’t look for me first. Do you not want to work at this company anymore!”
Luo Jingcha looked pitiful, “Sister Hua, what did I do wrong…”
“Didn’t you tell me to come to the company early? I came straight to the company for training after being discharged from the hospital without resting. When I came, I couldn’t find you, and by the time I saw you, the evaluation had already started.”
“You!”
Xue Hua saw her pitiful appearance didn’t seem fake, so she asked, “What medicine are you selling in your gourd by singing like that just now? You better not try to be clever with me, or you’ll be in trouble!”
“I didn’t, Sister Hua. Didn’t you want me to sign a contract to be Miss Shen’s dance double? I was afraid I’d be selected, so I deliberately sang badly. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be able to be Miss Shen’s dance double.” Luo Jingcha explained with a bitter face.
Only then did Xue Hua relax, her expression softening a bit as she said, “At least you’re obedient.”
Luo Jingcha took the opportunity to ask, “Sister Hua, if I agree to be the dance double, can you give me another spot for the I Dream! program recording?”
“So that’s what you’re after.”
Xue Hua sneered upon hearing this, “Do you think the I Dream! program is so easy to get into? That’s a popular variety show. Which company’s trainees aren’t fighting tooth and nail to get in and gain exposure? You? Forget about it.”
She knew it.
Luo Jingcha sneered inwardly but said on the surface, “In that case, I might as well go explain to Teacher Zhao and ask him to give me another chance. Maybe I still have a chance to get an A.”
Xue Hua panicked when she said this, “Stop dreaming. After singing like that, how could they give you another chance? Just go sign the contract obediently!”
Luo Jingcha pretended to walk toward the evaluation area, “How will I know if I don’t try?”
“Stop!”
Xue Hua was anxious and quickly grabbed her, thinking she should stabilize this stubborn girl first. Wasn’t this just painting a rosy picture? After the show was over, whether to give her the spot or not would still be up to her.
“Even if you go now, they might not give you a chance. How about this – you come with me to sign the contract, and after the show is over, I’ll pull strings to get you on the program.”
“But I remember the registration deadline for next month’s program is coming up.”
Luo Jingcha thought for a moment and said, “My parents said that if I want to sign a contract, I must register first before signing, otherwise they won’t let me sign.”
Xue Hua looked at Luo Jingcha, her anger rising. She always felt like this girl seemed smarter than before.
“Fine! I’ll register your name first when we sign!” Xue Hua had no choice but to agree first.
Luo Jingcha secretly curved the corner of her mouth. Wasn’t this settled then?
Just to get on a program – why waste that time? As for whether to actually be the dance double or who would do it, there would be ways to handle that later.
While they were bargaining, the evaluation had completely finished. Xue Hua said, “Let’s go. Don’t tell me you’re standing here thinking you can get an A?”
Luo Jingcha waved her hand, “How could that be? I sang like a ghost. If they gave me an A, Longyao’s CEO Mo would probably be an idiot.”
Xue Hua snorted, “At least you have some self-awareness.”
The two went to the office. Luo Jingcha watched as Xue Hua used the company’s name to register her, and Xue Hua was also satisfied as she picked up the signed and stamped contract.
The two smiled at each other, both thinking they had the other under control.
After the agreement was reached, Luo Jingcha prepared to leave. Just then, an administrator ran breathlessly into the office and said to Luo Jingcha, “What are you hiding here for? Come with me quickly!”
“Go? Go where?” Luo Jingcha was pulled by the administrator, confused.
“To sign a contract with Longyao, of course. You got an A!” the administrator said.
As soon as the administrator said this, both of them gasped in shock, looked at each other, their eyes clearly showing disbelief.
She could get an A singing like that?
Did the people at Longyao really have holes in their heads?
Still in a daze, Luo Jingcha was pulled by the administrator to the training ground. It seemed the results had already been announced publicly, otherwise why would everyone be looking at her like they wanted to devour her?
The other four trainees who got A’s were already standing in front – among the girls were Fang Yiqiao and Zheng Jiajia, and the other two were boys.
Luo Jingcha wasn’t familiar with the boys, so she didn’t recognize them.
Teacher Zhao looked at her and said, “You didn’t expect this, did you?”
Luo Jingcha shook her head.
Teacher Zhao: “To be honest, I didn’t expect it either.”
He shook his head and said, “Come with me. The CEO is waiting in the conference room.”
Just as they were about to leave, a trainee suddenly shouted, “Why should she!”
