Genius Trainee: My Husband Isn't Human - Chapter 22
Mo Shiche was fast, but Mo Wangchu was even faster. Just as Mo Shiche was about to reach Luo Jingcha, Mo Wangchu threw him out directly.
With a loud bang, Mo Shiche was smashed against the wall on the other side of the table. The wall was dented with a large crater, and vine-like cracks spread from behind him across almost half the wall.
Mo Shiche seemed to have completely lost control. He fell to the ground but immediately got back up, lunging at the two of them like a madman.
In an instant, Mo Shiche flashed behind Luo Jingcha. Mo Wangchu frowned, raised his hand and grabbed his throat, lifting him entirely off the ground.
Mo Wangchu stared into his blood-red eyes and said, “You can hear me speaking, can’t you?”
Mo Shiche let out two roars, as if desperately trying to suppress the beast within him—something that had never happened before.
He gripped Mo Wangchu’s arm tightly and said with difficulty, “Wangchu, help me. I don’t want to hurt her!”
Mo Wangchu lowered his eyelids, seemingly hesitating.
“Hurry, I can’t control it anymore,” Mo Shiche said through gritted teeth.
“Then, rest well for the next period of time.”
Mo Wangchu nodded, then took out a dagger carved with ancient patterns from his chest and slowly inserted it into Mo Shiche’s heart.
The moment the dagger pierced his heart, Mo Shiche finally regained clarity. His eyes returned to their usual gentleness, and he looked at Mo Wangchu with a smile, saying, “Thank you…”
Mo Shiche collapsed, and Mo Qi came over to catch him.
Mo Wangchu said, “Take big brother inside. He’ll wake up on his own in half a month.”
“Yes.”
Mo Qi hoisted Mo Shiche over his shoulder and headed upstairs, seemingly very practiced at this kind of work.
Luo Jingcha really couldn’t handle alcohol. During the fight between the two men, she had actually fallen asleep directly. She lay sprawled on the table sleeping groggily, still muttering under her breath.
“Bastard, just wait until I get back—I’ll show you!”
Then she started crying. “Wu wu wu… I can’t go back. Dad, I miss you so much…”
Mo Wangchu glanced at her, picked up a glass of ice water from the table, and splashed it on her face.
After drinking, Luo Jingcha was burning hot all over. The ice water from head to toe was too stimulating, and she woke up instantly.
Mo Wangchu put the glass back on the table and said coolly, “If you can’t drink, don’t drink. It’s embarrassing.”
Luo Jingcha’s head was still a bit dizzy, but at least her consciousness had cleared. She stood up, swaying twice, and said, “I—how was I supposed to know your alcohol had such a strong kick? I just took a sip…”
She looked around and asked, “Where’s your younger brother?”
Luo Jingcha reeked of alcohol all over. Mo Wangchu frowned—he really hadn’t expected Luo Jingcha’s alcohol tolerance to be so poor.
He said coldly, “If you dare drink again, I’ll twist your head off.”
Without giving Luo Jingcha a chance to retort, he lifted his foot and headed upstairs.
Luo Jingcha was furious. What kind of person was this? He even wanted to control her drinking. Did that mean in the future, when she found a boyfriend, fell in love, got married, and had children, she’d have to get his approval for everything?
Mo Wangchu walked quickly. Luo Jingcha was still standing there dazed. Seeing that Luo Jingcha hadn’t followed, Mo Wangchu said impatiently, “Still standing there? Do you want me to come over and invite you personally?”
“Go where?” Luo Jingcha asked groggily.
“To sleep,” Mo Wangchu tossed out two words.
“To sleep?”
Luo Jingcha pointed at him, then at herself. “Us?”
Mo Wangchu was too lazy to waste words with her and said directly, “I’ll give you ten seconds. If you don’t follow, find a lawyer yourself to calculate the breach of contract fee.”
Hearing the words “breach of contract fee,” Luo Jingcha suddenly perked up, remembering the clause written in the contract: Outside of practice time, you must stay inseparable from Mo Wangchu, or bear the consequences!
“Holy crap!”
Luo Jingcha took off running upstairs, gasping as she followed him into the room. Seeing Mo Wangchu start to undress, she quickly turned around and said breathlessly, “You’re not serious, are you? The contract doesn’t include sleeping services!”
Mo Wangchu took off his shirt and pulled a blanket from the closet, throwing it at her. Luo Jingcha’s head was already dizzy, and being hit by this caught her off guard, causing her to topple over.
“What are you doing!”
Luo Jingcha indignantly threw off the blanket, but the wonderful sight before her made her blush involuntarily.
It’s not that she hadn’t seen men with good physiques before. The entertainment industry had nothing else, but pretty boys and hunks were a dime a dozen. She’d seen plenty of men with eight-pack abs, but she’d basically never seen anyone with muscle definition as perfect as Mo Wangchu’s.
When Mo Wangchu was dressed, she didn’t think he was the type of man with a lot of muscle. After all, how many wealthy young masters would be enthusiastic about fitness? They’d basically spend that time dealing with women instead.
But looking now, this Mo Wangchu apparently wasn’t the type to indulge in women.
“Have you seen enough?” Mo Wangchu noticed she’d been staring at his body and reminded her with displeasure.
Luo Jingcha snapped back to reality, realizing her gaze had indeed been somewhat inappropriate. She quickly covered her eyes and said, “I’m inexperienced and was presumptuous. Please don’t hold it against me.”
Mo Wangchu suddenly crouched down, leaned over and knocked heavily on her head, warning, “Sleep on the floor yourself. Don’t get on my bed, or I’ll break your legs!”
The bathroom door slammed shut with a bang. Luo Jingcha heard the sound of water and finally let out a long breath. She touched her aching head where he’d knocked it and picked up the blanket to start making a bed on the floor.
Mo Wangchu’s behavior made Luo Jingcha puzzled again. This man had gone through so much trouble to get her to sign a contract, but in the end it wasn’t because he lusted after her body. So what was it for? He clearly seemed to have a cleanliness obsession, yet insisted on sleeping in the same room as her?
Luo Jingcha finished making the floor bed and lay down directly. After being tired all day, she finally sighed comfortably.
She stared at the bathroom door, her gaze gradually becoming hazy.
“Wonder what he’s up to,” she muttered quietly, and fell asleep without any defenses.
When Mo Wangchu finished his shower and came out, he found Luo Jingcha had already fallen asleep. Seeing her lying carelessly on the blanket spread on the floor, he pressed his lips together, took another blanket from the closet, and casually threw it over her.
He dried the water droplets from his hair, changed into a crisp suit again, and was about to go out when he thought for a moment and turned off the lights.
Mo Qi had been waiting downstairs. When he saw Mo Wangchu come down, he said, “Except for our own people, all the vampires in S City have been notified. They’re all waiting at Twilight Bar now, just waiting for you to go over.”
Mo Wangchu hummed in acknowledgment and said coolly, “Let’s go.”
Twilight Bar was originally a place Mo Wangchu used to gather vampires, but after Mo Wangchu left S City more than ten years ago, it gradually became a place for human entertainment and transactions.
Although what happened at Twilight yesterday was suppressed by him, it didn’t stop the spread within vampire circles. In just one day, news of Mo Bai’s return had reached the ears of vampires throughout the city.
Mo Wangchu was the only remaining pure-blood royal bloodline so far, possessing the power to rule the entire vampire clan. Now that Mo Wangchu was reclaiming this power, the implications were self-evident.
Today’s Twilight lacked its usual liveliness. The lighting was dim and barely visible, with cold atmosphere pervading every corner of the bar. With Mo Wangchu and Mo Qi’s entrance, the atmosphere inside became even more austere.
Bang!
Mo Qi threw a corpse onto the floor in the center of the dance floor. Mo Wangchu swept his gaze around the interior and asked, “Whose person is he?”
