Genius Trainee: My Husband Isn't Human - Chapter 5
In the washroom, after being kicked and punched, Feng Yijun finally spat out the rag from her mouth and screamed, “You idiots, stop it! I am the real Feng Yijun!”
All the followers were stunned when they heard her voice. One of them wiped the cream off her face and exclaimed in shock, “She really is Yijun! We’ve beaten the wrong person!”
“Release me now!” Feng Yijun cursed.
Everyone quickly untied her. Facing Feng Yijun’s murderous glare, they all lowered their heads in guilt, not daring to look at her.
“Bunch of useless trash!”
After being freed from the ropes, Feng Yijun slapped each of them across the face. “You can’t even recognize me. Have I been keeping you all for nothing?”
Everyone mumbled nervously, afraid to speak. Only one person asked, “Should we go out and catch her to beat her up again?”
Feng Yijun slapped her again. “Idiot! Young Master Xu is still outside. Are you trying to help me or ruin me?!”
“Then… what should we do?”
Feng Yijun glared at them venomously, rubbing her bruised jaw and said maliciously, “Call Wolf Dog and tell him to bring some warehouse workers over. Tell them there’s a good piece waiting for them to enjoy.”
Luo Jingcha wandered around the bar for a while and, seeing that Feng Yijun and her gang hadn’t reappeared, assumed they had left through the side door. Since the main character had left, there was no point in staying. She checked the time and prepared to call for a ride.
Just then, a piercing scream suddenly rang out from the center of the dance floor, followed by a man collapsing to the ground.
People gathered around and saw that the fallen man had a torn wound on his neck as if bitten by something, still bleeding profusely.
Xu Zhenlin rushed over, and seeing everyone stunned, quickly took off his jacket to cover the young man’s wound. He asked, “What happened? What just happened?”
The screaming woman trembled as she spoke, “I-I don’t know what happened. He just came in from outside and asked me a couple of questions, then suddenly something seemed to flash by, and when I looked again, he had collapsed.”
Her words caused panic, and everyone became fearful for their safety.
But shortly after she finished speaking, another person suddenly collapsed not far away, with the same bite mark on their neck.
The scene froze for a moment, with only the frantic music still playing. But the next moment, someone shouted “Run!” and chaotic fleeing sounds filled the entire space.
“Run? None of you are getting out!”
An ice-cold bloodthirsty voice suddenly rang out. The next second, seven or eight people appeared from nowhere. Luo Jingcha was startled and instinctively hid behind a booth near the door.
Piercing screams continued. Luo Jingcha peeked out to look, and after a second, she silently recited an eight-character mantra in her mind. “Prosperity, democracy, civility, harmony! Prosperity, democracy, civility, harmony!”
How is this possible? It’s 8020 already, how could such things really exist?
Vampires? They’re actually vampires?!
Luo Jingcha wondered if she was having a year of bad luck—first being framed, then getting into a car accident, and now after crossing into a parallel world, she encounters creatures that should only exist in TV dramas. How unlucky could she be?
She watched as those seven or eight vampires quickly sucked the blood from fleeing victims. People fell in waves, harvested almost instantly.
In just a few seconds, the young men and women who had been partying moments ago all lay fallen.
After a while, that cold voice sounded again, “Still not coming out?”
“Like hell I will!” Luo Jingcha’s heart pounded like a drum, though she couldn’t help but make a sarcastic remark in her mind.
Footsteps approached her step by step. Luo Jingcha clenched her fists. What could she do? She might have been able to manipulate Feng Yijun, but against these supernatural beings, she was completely helpless.
Was this it? Having barely come back to life, was she really going to die here?
Luo Jingcha was filled with unwillingness, thinking that the gears of her time were about to stop turning again, when suddenly a heavy male voice that seemed to have traveled through centuries spoke from the staircase on the second floor of the bar. The footsteps approaching her stopped.
“Hong Zhang, this time you’ve truly angered me.”
From her angle, she could see the stairs clearly. Looking over, she saw a man in an exquisite black suit leisurely walking down the stairs. As he walked, he used a black silk handkerchief with gold trim to wipe blood stains from the white shirt cuff on his right hand. When he slightly raised his head, he revealed an arrogant yet extremely elegant refined face. His blood-stained mouth corner, fangs, and those extremely deep blue-purple pupils all indicated that this man was also a vampire!
Just as he reached the bottom of the stairs, a bloody heart slowly rolled down the steps to his feet, followed by a loud thud as a vampire corpse with a big hole in its left chest fell from the second-floor corridor.
The sound of flesh hitting the ground made Luo Jingcha take a deep breath. She thought she was probably done for…
However, before she could completely despair, she heard the vampire called Hong Zhang speak with a voice tinged with fear. “S-Second Master! You’re back!”
Upon seeing the man, Hong Zhang’s expression changed dramatically. Without thinking, he knelt on one knee, his attitude shifting from arrogance to reverence, his eyes even covered with a trace of fear.
The man remained expressionless, merely putting the soiled handkerchief into his pocket and said coolly, “In the years I’ve been away, your memory has truly worsened. You’ve even forgotten the rules I set.”
Hong Zhang’s expression stiffened, then he smiled apologetically, “I wouldn’t dare. How could I forget the boss’s rules? I’ve already warned them not to expose their identities and absolutely not to kill people within Z country’s borders. These people are just unconscious. When they wake up tomorrow, at most they’ll think they drank too much and feel a bit dizzy. They won’t remember what happened.”
“Is that so?” the man asked softly.
“Yes! Yes! Of course!” Hong Zhang quickly replied.
The man raised his eyes slightly, his gaze shooting out like a cold arrow. “Then explain to me what happened at Lujia Bay, Sheng Street, and the beast killing incident in the parking garage three days ago.”
“This…”
Hong Zhang’s already bloodless face turned deathly pale at the question. He knew that once this man spoke, it meant he had already investigated thoroughly. And he knew better than anyone that this man would never allow those who broke the rules to exist. Since he had already killed two vampires, he wouldn’t spare the rest of them.
Hong Zhang suddenly stood up, baring his fangs, “Boss, do you really intend to kill your own kind for the sake of these humans?!”
“For humans? My own kind? Huh.” The man suddenly laughed.
“Ugh…” Simultaneously, there was a groan from another vampire.
Looking at the hand that had penetrated through the chest, Luo Jingcha was incredulous. She had thought those vampires moved quickly enough, but this man—his laugh still lingered in the original spot, yet his afterimage had already killed someone.
What kind of monster is this?!
