Genius Trainee: My Husband Isn't Human - Chapter 7
However, just as he was about to touch her neck, his heart suddenly felt as if it had been seized, causing a sharp pain. He raised his head, staring at Luo Jingcha with wide eyes, his face filled with disbelief.
Luo Jingcha weakly curled her lips, showing a hint of satisfaction as she said, “You never thought you’d experience having your heart crushed by a human, did you?”
“You… Aah!” The vampire let out a loud cry. With his heart controlled by someone else, he had no power to resist.
Yes, vampires could live forever, but they had fatal weaknesses, one of which was their heart. Luo Jingcha had utilized the vampire’s charging speed to take this hit, and using the reactive force, had directly inserted her hand into his chest cavity.
“No, no! Don’t kill me!” With his heart controlled by someone else, the vampire could only helplessly look at Luo Jingcha, begging pitifully.
Luo Jingcha shook her head and, with a steel resolve, forcefully pulled out the still-beating heart from her hand. The vampire collapsed instantly.
Only after confirming the vampire was truly dead did Luo Jingcha slowly slide to the ground, breathing heavily. She looked down at her hands covered in viscous fluid as her vision gradually blurred.
After a while, a man slowly walked over, surveying the somewhat gruesome “battlefield” before finally setting his gaze on the girl before him. He looked down at the heart beside her hand, and something unusual stirred in his typically impassive eyes.
He raised his wrist to his mouth and bit it open, allowing blood to flow slowly. The man then reached out to pry open Luo Jingcha’s mouth, dripping the blood into it.
Soon, Luo Jingcha began to groan softly.
Consciousness suddenly returned, and Luo Jingcha’s eyes snapped open. But as soon as she opened them, she found herself looking into an exquisite and profound pair of bluish-purple eyes. These eyes were calm and incredibly captivating, making it almost impossible for her to look away, wanting only to be lost in their depths.
“Forget everything that happened tonight, understand?” The man’s voice was deep and pleasant, possessing an enchanting quality.
Luo Jingcha nodded dazedly, her gaze unfocused as she said, “I was drunk. I don’t remember anything.”
After saying this, she fell asleep again. Seeing this, the man stood up, took out a phone from his suit’s inner pocket, and made a call. “Twilight Bar. Come and clean up.”
After hanging up, the man looked at Luo Jingcha lying on the ground covered in blood and frowned. After some internal deliberation, he removed his expensive suit jacket, wrapped it around her, picked her up, and vanished from the spot.

Knock, knock, knock!
Nie Cheng was sleeping soundly when a series of knocks woke him from his dreams. He lingered under the blanket for a moment before reluctantly climbing out of bed to answer the door.
“Who is it?” Nie Cheng shuffled towards the door in his slippers, his eyes half-closed but his mouth cursing, “Which bastard is it this time, disturbing people’s sleep in the middle of the night?”
Nie Cheng irritably looked through the peephole, but when he saw the face on the other side, he trembled with fear. He was both surprised and terrified—he couldn’t have imagined that this troublemaker, who had been abroad for over ten years, would suddenly return without any warning and show up at his place in the middle of the night. He could have scared someone to death.
“Second Master, y-y-you, how did you come back?” Nie Cheng patted his face and quickly opened the door, only to find that Mo Bai was carrying a blood-covered girl in his arms. He was stunned for a moment, wondering if this thousands-year-old monster had finally found love.
Seeing his eyes fixed on Luo Jingcha, Mo Bai frowned and said, “If you’re not going to let me in, should I take back the house?”
Hearing this, Nie Cheng came to his senses and hastily stepped aside, saying, “No, no, please come in!”
If Mo Bai were to take back the house, he’d be able to enter his home anytime—a terrifying thought.
As Mo Bai carried Luo Jingcha inside, Nie Cheng noticed blood stains on his shoes and quickly called out, “Second Master!”
Mo Bai turned to look at him, and Nie Cheng quickly took a pair of clean, new slippers from the shoe cabinet and offered them to him, smiling awkwardly, “I just mopped the floor. Could you please change your shoes?”
Mo Bai stared at him for two seconds but didn’t change his shoes. Instead, he walked straight in and, to Nie Cheng’s horror, laid the blood-covered Luo Jingcha on his light-colored linen sofa.
Nie Cheng clutched his heart and rolled his eyes, his mind completely devastated.
Mo Bai ignored him and said coolly, “If you don’t want two holes in your neck, come over here quickly.”
The threat worked. Though unwilling, Nie Cheng obediently went over. Earlier, he couldn’t see Luo Jingcha’s face, but now that she was laid flat on the sofa, he stole a glance at her and silently cursed Mo Bai as a beast.
It was one thing for this old vampire to finally find love, but to choose a young girl? She looked underage—how inhumane.
Mo Bai ignored his private thoughts and said directly, “I have formed a blood contract with her. How can it be undone?”
“What?” Nie Cheng’s attention was drawn back by his words. He exclaimed in surprise, “You mean a blood contract? That ancient secret technique that binds the lives of both parties?”
Mo Bai nodded, looking at Luo Jingcha and said, “That should be it. I can feel my power continuously flowing into her body, and also…”
He paused and clenched his fist, “There’s the long-forgotten taste of life slipping away.”
“You can’t be serious, man!” Nie Cheng rubbed his head in frustration and said, “It’s one thing for others to be lovesick, but you—a vampire who has lived for thousands of years—pulling this stunt? If the person who signed the blood contract with you were someone else, it might be okay, but this girl is just an ordinary human. If she dies, even your immortality won’t help. And if those people who have been eyeing you find out about this, you’ll be in danger!”
At these words, Mo Bai finally gave him a serious look, narrowing his eyes to say, “I was set up.”
“Uh… excuse me…” Nie Cheng awkwardly closed his mouth.
Mo Bai had no time to quibble with him and asked, “Is there any way to break the contract?”
Nie Cheng shook his head, “I only read about this in our clan’s forbidden books. The description was vague. According to legend, it was created long ago by a pair of lovers who wanted to live and die together, so the inventor didn’t leave a solution. Originally, this witchcraft wasn’t forbidden, but it was later used by malicious people for evil purposes, so our ancestors banned it. Clan members stopped recording this technique, and over time, it was gradually lost. I never thought it would reappear, especially being used on you, Second Master.”
Hearing this, Mo Bai frowned slightly and said, “If there’s a technique to form a contract, there must be a way to break it. Find it for me.”
Mo Bai’s tone was even, but Nie Cheng nearly stumbled upon hearing it. “Second Master, please don’t joke with me. After all these years, our witch clan has practically died out, with only our branch barely surviving. You’re asking me to break an ancient secret technique—aren’t you making things difficult for me? Besides, because of the last case, I’ve been worked to the bone by that Lian Yu guy for three days straight. I still have a ton of things to do afterward. I don’t have the energy for this. Please spare me. Look at my dark circles—I haven’t slept for three days! Three days!”
Nie Cheng pointed at his eyes, emphasizing twice, but Mo Bai simply took out a key from his pocket and slowly placed it on the table.
Nie Cheng was puzzled, then watched as Mo Bai pulled out a fruit knife from the nearby fruit basket and gently placed it next to the key.
He pointed to the key and then to the fruit knife, saying, “Solve it, this is yours. Don’t solve it, this is for your use.”
Mo Bai pushed the fruit knife forward slightly and said calmly, “Death brings relief.”
