- Chapter 9 - Mo Wangchu Has Arrived, The Demon King Has Emerged
It seemed that he heard Luo Jingcha’s footsteps. His hands paused over the music, and he looked up at her. At that moment, a hint of surprise gradually rippled through his clear eyes. It was then that Luo Jingcha realized that the term “young man” might be more suitable to describe him.
Although he had the physique of an adult male, his eyes were pure and clean, his features delicate yet gentle, giving the impression of a child who had never experienced the dust of the world.
Luo Jingcha found this strange but didn’t say anything directly. She saw the sheet music that had fallen to the ground, picked it up and asked, “Did you compose the piece you were just playing?”
The man turned his head away and didn’t engage with her much.
“Do you know how to leave this place?” Luo Jingcha asked again.
The man still didn’t speak.
Luo Jingcha decided not to push the matter, placing the sheet music back on the table before turning to leave. But suddenly the man called out to her saying, “Do you know how to play the piano?”
His tone had a childlike quality to it.
He stood up and pressed a few keys, producing several notes. “You play. If I’m satisfied, I’ll tell you.”
Luo Jingcha looked at him, unsure whether he was telling the truth, but playing a piano piece wasn’t much to ask, so she wouldn’t lose anything.
She sat down at the piano, thought for a moment, and placed her ten fingers on the keys.
Then, the powerful melody of “Symphony of Fate” soared forth. When the piece ended, the man remained silent for a long while.
Luo Jingcha turned and asked, “Are you satisfied?”
“Did you compose this yourself?” The man seemed somewhat unconvinced.
Luo Jingcha laughed and said, “That wasn’t part of the question, was it?”
Originally she had been somewhat guarded, but after their conversation, Luo Jingcha roughly understood that the man before her likely had a congenital cognitive deficiency, causing his intelligence to remain at a child’s level. Otherwise, he wouldn’t speak and act so much like a child.
The man pouted and turned to leave, “If you won’t say, then you won’t. Who cares.”
“Where are you going?” Luo Jingcha asked.
“Didn’t you ask how to leave?” There seemed to be a hint of unhappiness in his tone.
The man led her through several corridors until they reached an iron door. “If you go out through here, you won’t get lost again.”
“Thank you.”
Luo Jingcha looked at the sky and realized it was almost noon. Worried that Luo’s parents would be anxious about her disappearance, she quickly thanked him and hurried past the iron door.
As she was about to walk away, the man suddenly called out to her, “Aren’t you afraid of me?”
Luo Jingcha paused and turned back. “Why should I be afraid of you?”
The young man hesitated for a moment and said, “Because I eat people. They’re all afraid of me.”
“Eat people?” Luo Jingcha found it amusing and spoke through the iron bars as if soothing a child. “Will you eat me then?”
The young man hurriedly waved his hands when he heard this. “Of course not! Wangchu told me we can’t harm humans.”
Humans? It must be that adults at home had taught him not to harm others.
She smiled and said, “If you won’t, then why should I be afraid of you?”
When the young man heard she wasn’t afraid, he immediately broke into a happy smile, joy spreading across his face. “Then will you be my friend, big sister?”
Luo Jingcha laughed, so that was his intention. She didn’t refuse him, “If you want, we can.”
Just then, the sound of hurried footsteps approached. Luo Jingcha turned to see the housekeeper with a bandage on her forehead walking hastily in their direction.
Luo Jingcha thought “not good” and quickly said, “I have to go now. I’ll come visit you next time.”
“When is next time?” the man asked.
“Very soon!”
Luo Jingcha answered and quickly slipped away. When she finally made it back to the main road, she complained, “What kind of weird second master does your family have who wants to lock me up for three months? Would I ever go back? Never in a million years!”

Mo Group’s Board of Directors meeting.
Those seated around the conference table were mostly veterans of the group, but now facing the young man sitting in the chairman’s position, each of them kept their heads down, not daring to make a sound.
This was their newly appointed CEO, Mo Wangchu.
But after just half a day in office, everyone had formed a single impression of him: Demon King!
Mo Wangchu has arrived! The Demon King has emerged!
In the conference room, apart from the sound of breathing, there was dead silence. Someone came in from outside and whispered a few words in Mo Wangchu’s ear.
Mo Wangchu lightly tapped the table with his finger and stood up. “Does anyone have any objections?”
No one spoke.
Those who dared to speak were now in prison.
He held in his hands incriminating evidence of all the unspeakable crimes of these families, large and small.
“If there are no objections, the meeting is adjourned.”
Only after Mo Wangchu left the conference room did everyone dare to breathe freely. This man was too frightening; his eyes seemed to possess a magical power. Once he fixed his gaze on you, you couldn’t help but submit to him. He was like a born emperor, controlling the life and death fate of everyone.
“Second Master, the girl you brought back was just released by Young Master Ah Che. Should we bring her back?” A man dressed in black sportswear said to Mo Wangchu.
“No need. Have someone watch over her and keep her safe,” Mo Wangchu said as he fastened the button on his cuff.
“Is the acquisition contract ready?” he asked.
The man replied, “It’s been prepared according to your instructions. Kan Shan can go sign it this afternoon. But Shuhua Entertainment is about to go bankrupt – is acquiring such a company worthwhile?”
“Don’t ask questions that aren’t your concern. Bring the contract and come with me this afternoon.”
“Yes!”

With great effort, Luo Jingcha finally managed to run out of the villa area. She felt her pocket and found her phone was still there. She immediately turned it on and called Zhang Leyan.
Zhang Leyan answered almost instantly. “Chacha, you finally turned on your phone! Why didn’t you come back last night? Nothing happened, right? Uncle and auntie called me early this morning asking where you went. I was really about to die from worry!”
“You didn’t tell on me, did you?” Luo Jingcha quickly asked.
“How could I? I told them you were scared to be alone at night so you came to sleep at my place, and that you weren’t awake yet. If you hadn’t shown up soon, I was afraid my head would explode!”
Luo Jingcha let out a long sigh of relief. “I’m fine, don’t worry. I’m heading to the hospital now.”
“Hurry up!”
Luo Jingcha hung up and rushed to the hospital. When she arrived, Father and Mother Luo were waiting in the ward. The moment they saw her, Luo Jingcha clearly felt their expressions relax.
They smiled at her. “Luoluo, you’re back. You must be hungry. Come and eat something. In the future, if you’re scared, remember to call mom and dad. It’s dangerous to run off by yourself. Don’t do this again, understand?”
The generosity of Luo’s parents made Luo Jingcha feel a surge of guilt. Xiao Luo’s adoptive parents truly cared for her. In the future, she should avoid making them worry.
She nodded and said, “I understand. I’ll be more careful in the future.”
Today was her discharge day. Luo’s parents had already completed the discharge procedures. They hoped she would go home to recuperate for a few more days, but Luo Jingcha refused.
Being confined at home would prevent her from doing anything, so she’d rather go straight to school and meet Xiao Luo’s classmates who typically liked to bully the weak and fear the strong.
Luo Jingcha took a bus to school. In front of the teaching building was a huge square for students’ activities, while on the right side of the playground was a rubber basketball court. It was currently the long break between classes, and many male students were sweating profusely on the court.
As Luo Jingcha walked across the playground, suddenly a loud call came from the fourth floor of the teaching building, “Chacha——!”
Luo Jingcha looked up and sure enough, it was Zhang Leyan. She couldn’t help but cover her face.
