- Chapter 24 - In a strange turn of events
As soon as I arrived at school on Monday, I was restrained by Yoshiki and Masashi the moment I entered the classroom.
Well, I exaggerated that I was restrained. I was simply taken to the corner of the classroom so that they could interrogate me.
“Hey, what’s this… ?”
I asked suddenly, and Masashi made a useless motion to raise his glasses even though he was not wearing them, and then he started to speak.
“Actually, I’ve seen it.”
“I think Masashi has seen it.”
“… what do you mean?”
Placing his hand on my shoulder, Masashi glares at me… is an exaggeration, but it’s a little too sharp a stare to make me nervous.
Not only Masashi but Yoshiki also stared at me, which made me feel uneasy… but it wasn’t long before I sighed at the words that followed.
“You were out with Aragaki-san on Saturday. I don’t know which one! “
“That’s what Masashi saw! Oh, come on, are you guys dating? Where’s the bond of our unpopular alliance!? “
” …huh?”
I knew why the two of them had come up to me now.
Although they were reasonably loud, no one paid any attention to us, especially since we were not the most prominent people in the class.
A few people looked at us, but that’s about it in the end.
“First of all, we’re not dating, and I’m not abandoning the bonds of our nonpopular alliance. If you call it a date when a man and a woman go out together, I can’t deny that it’s a date, but, well, it’s… We’re not dating anyway―that’s for sure.”
Of course, I can’t tell you that I hugged her from behind when we parted, but even excluding that, we’re not dating anyway, so what I just said is not a lie.
I told them what I had just said, not in a desperate way, not as an excuse, but as it was, and their expressions softened at once as if to say, “I knew it.”
“I know, right? I mean, I don’t mind if you get a girlfriend! “
“Ha-ha-ha! I wouldn’t mind it so much, either! “
” ………… “
You seemed to care enough to glare at me…
I’m relieved to hear that for now… Well, I didn’t find it particularly annoying that he saw me with Rin’ne and confronted me like this.
Well, if I had been annoyed, it would have been with other people who are not my friends, and I would never have asked Rin’ne to refrain from doing it again.
“Good morning”
“Morning.”
I’m talking to them, and then the twins appear.
While all eyes are on them, both girls and boys, Yomi-san glances at me… and comes closer to me.
The two guys who were supposed to be with me are already trying to retreat like defeated warriors, and there is no one who can stop Yomi’s advance.
“Akito-kun”
“Yes?”
“Promise, remember?”
“Okay.”
“Good.”
With that, she nodded her head in satisfaction and turned her back to me.
She had called me on the night I went out with Rin’ne and suggested that we go out together on Monday after school since she couldn’t wait for next week.
I couldn’t go out with her the next day, Sunday, because I had a few things to do, but I nodded my head to Yomi’s suggestion for Monday.
” …Yeah? “
At that moment, I spotted a boy staring at me.
The boy was not a particularly conspicuous person, although it is a little dejected to say that he was… the same as me.
Well, the other guys in my class are also staring at me to some extent, but I still wonder if my classmates like him are also staring at me.
( Maybe it’s because I’ve started interacting with them )
I answered that it must be so, but I couldn’t take the option to ignore her just because of the eyes of others since we met again.
However, the day I went out with Rin’ne… after I finished talking with Yomi, I thought again that the exchange with Rin’ne was too much, wasn’t it? I felt calm and happy, and I’m glad that she was happy, but …… Damn, what should I do in such a situation?
( Well, it’s no use worrying about it.)
She seems to be enjoying her daily life as a student in the true sense of the word, as she has no irresponsible confessions these days.
Yomi told me over the phone that I am a big part of their lives now, and that makes me so happy that I can’t help but loosen my cheeks and smile.
“Well, I’d better get to my seat.”
By the way, just before I took my seat, my eyes met Rin’ne’s.
She was waving her hands and smiling, so I guess she was watching my exchange with Yomi.
Just as I was about to take my seat, the teacher came in.
From there on, the class scene unfolded as usual, with not only Yoshiki and Masashi but also Rin’ne and Yomi talking with each other every break time, so in many ways, the students were still glancing at me sometimes.
“Oh, I wish you had invited me to join you on Saturday.”
And time flies by, and it’s after school, and Yomi, walking next to me, gives me the customary shoulder slap as she says this to me.
She was not complaining about being left out of the group but rather sulking cutely about how she wished she had joined last time.
“Well, it’s okay. We talked a lot about it on the phone the day before yesterday.”
“That’s right. The next day was Sunday, so we talked a lot.”
“…Wasn’t that a nuisance? “
“Not at all. It was a lot of fun.”
So I told her not to be worried.
Unlike Rin’ne, Yomi has a strong pushy attitude… and if you think about it calmly, you might think that both of them are strong, but Yomi is stronger in terms of her spirit.
She is not suited to look anxious, and that’s why I say these words.
“…I’m glad that’s the case♪.”
 Yomi smiled at me.
Reassured by her smile, we start to walk away, but then something unexpected happens.
As we were talking about doing some shopping together, we were suddenly hit by a rainstorm, and since the weather forecast didn’t say anything about rain, we didn’t have anything to block the heavy downpour.
“Oh my god! Geez!”
Yomi is protecting the top of her head with her bag as if it were an umbrella, but that’s not enough to keep out the heavy rain.
Yomi’s clothes are soon soaked, as are mine, and I feel like complaining out loud about how bad the rain is ―and then it hits us even harder.
“Yomi!”
“Whoa――”
A car was just passing by us, and it didn’t seem to be avoiding the puddle.
Even though I knew it would be pointless if we were this wet, I held Yomi in my arms to protect her from the splashing water and somehow managed to guard her against it.
“It won’t matter now if it’s this wet.”
I said with a laugh, and Yomi shook her head.
“No, it’s not. It’s true that we are both soaking wet, but….fufu, I’ve never had someone protect me like this before.”
“I see― ! ? “
“Akito-kun ? “
 I quickly averted my eyes.
I had thought this kind of thing was out of the question for me, so I was completely caught off guard when I saw it ―the heavy rain had made the uniform stick to her skin, revealing Yomi’s skin tone and the color of her underwear that covered her.
“Ah… ! ? “
“Yo, Yomi ! ? “
She noticed why I looked away from her, but for some reason, she didn’t move away from me and hugged me tightly.
She hugged me so tightly that I felt her fullness pressing against my chest, so much so that it almost changed shape and she murmured in a whisper.
“This way… no one can see me…? “
“I see…”
What the hell is that supposed to mean, you idiot?
However, there is certainly nothing more embarrassing than to be seen by others…Well, even though you can’t tell unless you get pretty close, it still seems that it is the reason for her uneasiness.
We both got soaked, and I’m worried about catching a cold, even though the overall temperature is getting warmer.
Yomi’s house is far from here, but mine is close, so I naturally suggested to her like this.
“My house is close. I think you can dry off a little and maybe take a shower…”
In the middle of my words, Yomi muttered something about wanting to go.
Thus, Yomi came to visit me at my house, though it was really out of the blue.
