I Was Scammed By A Snow Leopard cub - Chapter 4
Chapter 4 – A Brilliant Idea
Two years ago, Luo Yu’s mentor, Wei Li, traveled all the way to the main star just for an order from a picky noble. When he came back, he was not only injured, but his health was also much worse than before.
Luo Yu was extremely angry at the time, and since then, their studio never took any business from any nobles again.
Although the income was not as high as before and the studio’s fame was quickly surpassed by newcomers, the mentor and apprentice still ran their small workshop, taking small orders from time to time, and living a stable life.
That was until last month. Wei Li’s condition suddenly worsened, his heart failed, and he passed away in just three days.
It took Luo Yu a long time to sort out his emotions, but now he was provoked again and he was deeply involved in his emotions for a while.
It wasn’t until a furry thing crashed into the palm of his hand that Luo Yu came to his senses.
The little cub tilted its head and looked at him puzzledly, its eyes full of worry.
The palm of his hand was licked again, and Luo Yu’s heart softened. He smiled to reassure him: “It’s okay, I was just thinking about something.”
He suppressed his churning thoughts and focused on playing with the cub.
As the night quietly deepened, the little guy’s movements began to slow down, his eyes narrowed, and he yawned more and more frequently.
It’s almost time for bed.
After washing up, Luo Yu wrapped the cub in a small furry blanket and carried it into his bedroom.
There was an extra room at home, but Luo Yu was worried about leaving the cub alone in the guest room, so he simply brought it to sleep in the same room with him.
The bedroom was simply furnished. Apart from a bed and a wardrobe, there was only a rattan chair where he would sit when reading.
Summer nights are chilly, so Luo Yu found a quilt from the cupboard and made a simple nest on the rattan chair.
He carried the half-asleep cub up to the bed and covered him with a blanket. After making sure that the cub would not catch a cold, Luo Yu also lay down on the bed.
There was a small orange lamp left on the bedside.
In the soft light, the cub’s furry body rose and fell regularly in the shadows with its breathing.
Luo Yu hoped the little guy won’t have nightmares because of what happened today and can sleep well all night.
Luo Yu stared at it for a while, and after making sure there was no problem, he said good night silently.
On a quiet night in the small town, Luo Yu closed his eyes and listened to the chirping of cicadas in the summer night. The cub slept soundly, but he could not fall asleep for a long time.
Today’s experience was amazing.
He was just being lazy and taking a walk, but he brought back a furry snow leopard cub.
What kind of parent would be so cruel as to abandon such an adorable cub?
Luo Yu couldn’t sleep, and the image of an old-fashioned and arrogant aristocratic couple slowly emerged in his mind.
Anyway, they can’t be a good person.
Luo Yu muttered to himself.
As he thought about it, he began to worry again.
He really didn’t know what to do with this little guy.
Maybe that gem can provide some clues?
Because of his profession, Luo Yu knew a lot of gemstones, and had come into contact with some rare gemstones. But he could not name the black gemstone of the little guy, except that he could feel that it was very valuable.
He searched on Starnet but to no avail.
Luo Yu hesitated whether or not to contact his good friend, Pei Kong, tomorrow. Pei Kong often appeared in various high-end occasions and his appreciation of jewelry was no worse than his.
Maybe they could follow the clues and confirm the identity of the cub’s family?
Luo Yu told himself to be more optimistic.
As he was lost in his own thoughts, the small blanket on the wicker chair trembled.
Xie Anxing dreamed that he accidentally pressed the emergency escape button again, but this time his father failed to stop the bad guys and the capsule was hit by artillery fire.
He was so frightened that he almost rolled off the rattan chair.
The frightened little cub bit the blanket and was stunned for four or five seconds before he realized where he was.
The big eyes blinked.
‘Suddenly I miss my father a little.’
Although his father was busy with work and seldom hugged him or played games with him, his presence was always the most reassuring presence.
He regretted not contacting his father earlier. So he made up his mind to ask Luo Yu to help him call his father at dawn.
Under the warm yellow light, the snow leopard’s little butt twisted restlessly in the quilt. Xie Anxing had just had a nightmare and was in an unfamiliar environment, so he felt very insecure.
He poked his little head out from under the blanket and looked quietly towards Luo Yu.
Luo Yu closed his eyes and breathed lightly, as if he had fallen asleep.
Xie Anxing hesitated for a while, but finally decided to act on his own will.
Although his father said that he was already five years old and should be a brave boy and learn to sleep by himself at night, but if it was just this one time today…
It should be okay, right?
Even a little warrior would be afraid.
Xie Anxing quietly came out, holding a small blanket in his mouth. He jumped off the rattan chair, and because he was guilty, he accidentally fell on his butt. Fortunately, the carpet was soft, and he didn’t feel any pain except for a moment of confusion.
Xie Anxing stepped lightly onto Luo Yu’s bed.
The big furry tail swept around, and the little cub tilted his head to think about where to sleep better. Finally, he chose the side of Luo Yu’s neck, and the tail overlapped the head, forming a glutinous rice ball covered with black sesame seeds.
After choosing a place, Xie Anxing fell asleep again peacefully.
Luo Yu closed his eyes, his heart pounding.
The soft and warm little ball pressed against him, its tiny breath so close that he could smell the scent of milk from the cub at the tip of his nose.
He didn’t dare to open his eyes or move, for fear of scaring him, and let the little guy sneak onto his bed.
The two breathing sounds intertwined together. Xie Anxing no longer had nightmares, and Luo Yu also relaxed his thoughts and fell asleep.
They had a good night’s sleep.
When the sky brightened, Luo Yu woke up first.
The first thing he did was check on the little cub beside his pillow.
He didn’t know how the little guy slept at night. He rolled around and his whole body rolled into his quilt, leaving only a big furry head pressed against his face.
Luo Yu lifted the quilt, and the cub lay on the bed with its four paws flying freely, like a body artist.
Trying hard not to laugh, Luo Yu covered him with the quilt again and got up quietly.
The first thing to do is to prepare breakfast.
He kneaded the dough himself, made small buns in the shapes of pigs and rabbits, then washed the fruits and vegetables and squeezed them into fresh fruit and vegetable juice.
He couldn’t go to the supermarket yesterday, so he doesn’t have much at home. He could only make do with what he had. While he was juicing, Luo Yu placed an order at the StarNet Supermarket and bought some milk powder and nutritious food for the cub.
He originally wanted to buy some toys or something, but then he thought he could make them himself.
Although he didn’t have as many materials at home as in the studio, he still had some.
After preparing breakfast, Luo Yu went to find the cloth in the storage room.
He had very deft hands and was good at embroidery. He estimated the size of the cub, quickly cut out the pattern, and in less than half an hour he had made a set of children’s clothing.
The black vest has a buckled pocket on the side that can be used to store the little one’s gems.
When he finished his work and was about to wake the cub, Xie Anxing had already gotten up.
The little guy who just woke up was still a little dazed, his steps were unsteady, and he walked into the living room, swaying from side to side, and called out twice in a sticky voice.
Luo Yu was afraid that he would fall, so he quickly carried him to the sofa.
After a whole night of fluttering, his fur was all dry again, messy but cutely tight.
Of course Luo Yu wouldn’t mind combing his hair again.
Xie Anxing almost fell asleep again while smoothing his fur, but his sleepiness immediately disappeared after he smelled the aroma of food.
Delicious! Luo Yu really wasn’t lying to him yesterday!
Xie Anxing’s favorability towards Luo Yu was already perfect, and now it has broken through the ceiling, making him infinitely closer to his father.
This is the treatment that the little boy has never received from anyone else.
After breakfast, Luo Yu played with the little guy as usual to help digest his food. While petting the little guy, he called his good friend.
Pei Kong is a star who lives on the main star. He holds concerts all year round and his whereabouts are erratic. The two met because of business dealings. Pei Kong fell in love with Luo Yu’s design at first sight and pestered Luo Yu for half a year. Finally, Luo Yu gave in and contracted the accessories for his concert. After a few visits, they became friends and had a close relationship.
It was just the right time for Luo Yu, but too early for Pei Kong, a star. When he received Luo Yu’s call, the hot little star in the interstellar world was still asleep.
He wasn’t angry when he was woken up by the ringing, but he was dazed and unclear when answering the phone.
“Hello? A’Yu? It’s so early…what’s up?”
As soon as Luo Yu heard his voice, he knew that he must have stayed up late again last night: “Are you still sleeping? I’ll call you later.”
Pei Kong: “No, no, I have a tight schedule today and should wake up soon. What’s the matter that made you call me so early?”
Luo Yu sorted out his words and said, “A big thing happened yesterday.”
Pei Kong put his clothes on his head and joked: “What big thing can happen in that shabby place you live in? Don’t tell me that you picked up a man on the street and are no longer single now.”
In his eyes, Luo Yu had wasted twenty years of his good qualities. He was good-looking, had a good personality, and was an Omega, which made him popular in the eyes of orcs, but Luo Yu had no intention of finding a partner. He was as calm as an old man.
On the other side, Luo Yu touched the male cub under his hand and remained silent.
When he fell silent, Pei Kong panicked.
“Why aren’t you talking? Did I guess right…?”
Luo Yu: “No…I picked up a cub.”
Pei Kong: “Cub? What cub?”
Luo Yu: “A snow leopard cub…about five years old. There is a gem on his body. I want to ask if you have seen it.”
After understanding the real purpose of Luo Yu’s call, Pei Kong breathed a sigh of relief.
“I was shocked… I thought you had really found a partner for yourself without saying anything. Okay, send me the picture.”
Luo Yu immediately sent the picture over. Pei Kong frowned and looked at it for a long time, then spread his hands.
“I’ve never seen this thing before…How about taking it for identification?”
Luo Yu was a little disappointed. Was he too optimistic?
But he rejected Pei Kong’s suggestion: “Forget it, this is the cub’s thing, it should be very precious.”
Some appraisal institutes use rough techniques, which can easily cause bumps and scratches. If it is a new species that has never been discovered, a piece may be cut off without authorization for component inspection if one is not careful.
Speaking of which, Luo Yu has not yet explained the cub’s special situation to Pei Kong.
[This cub is a little special. It can’t transform. It might have a genetic defect.]
He deliberately switched to text so that the little cub who was playing wouldn’t hear him. Pei Kong understood and avoided mentioning it directly in the subsequent conversation.
Pei Kong: “This question…why don’t you send it to the main planet for examination? You know, the medical technology on remote planets is very poor.”
He was blunt, but he was right.
The medical treatment in the town still uses rudimentary genetic testing equipment, and the results are unreliable and uncertain. In addition, if you want to cure genetic defects, it is better to go to the main planet with advanced technology and medical care.
But at this point, Luo Yu hesitated.
“Going to the main planet? I might need to think about it.”
Pei Kong was delighted to sense his hesitation, and quickly struck while the iron was hot: “The main star is great! I can use my connections to introduce you to the best doctor! There will be no problem with cubs! And I remember you are 26, right? It’s not a good idea to always use inhibitors. Come to the main star! There are all kinds of people, tall, short, fat, and thin! You can just go and find your husband at the same time.”
He spoke seriously at first, but became more and more nonsensical as time went on.
Luo Yu laughed and scolded: “What nonsense are you talking about? Let me think about this matter and we’ll talk about it later.”
He hung up the phone and turned around to find that the little guy who was playing was squatting and staring at him without blinking.
A pair of sapphires sparkled, and the eyes sparkled.
Xie Anxing listened to the entire call openly, but he didn’t understand most of it. After omitting some words, only two phrases were left in his mind.
Consider going to the main star and finding a husband.
A brilliant idea popped into his little head.
Luo Yu was considering it.
Luo Yu wants to go to the main planet, where his father is.
Luo Yu is looking for a husband, and his father is a single bachelor.
In that case…
‘Luo Yu, can’t you go to the main planet and find my father to be your husband?’
Xie Anxing thought about it and the more he thought about it, the smoother the idea seemed.
If Luo Yu went to the main planet, he might send Xie Anxing home back and then leave.
But if Luo Yu married his father, he could live in the small castle. He would then bathe him, comb his hair, and cook delicious meals for him!
The little cub was so excited that he almost jumped up. He quietly clenched his fists and made up his mind.
He wants Luo Yu to be his mother!
The little brain, which was rarely smart, also thought of another thing.
If he contacts his father now, he might send someone to pick him up, and Luo Yu will never see his father.
In order for the two of them to meet, he absolutely cannot contact his father now!
He must bring Luo Yu to his father first!
He remembered that his father seemed to have said, what was this called?
It seems to be called, act first and report later.
The little cub straightened his chest again, feeling extremely proud of his own intelligence.
