I'm Really Not the Lord of the Abyss - Chapter 18
The massive creature, wounded, soared into the sky.
If anyone else had been present at that moment, they would have been utterly astonished to discover a gigantic nest suspended in the sky.
It was like a beehive, only more intricate and enormous. Creatures resembling insects constantly flew in and out, rapidly perfecting it bit by bit.
The creature stumbled into one of the tunnels in the nest, its body slowly shrinking until it took on the form of a humanoid male. He still had moth-like wings on his back, and his antennae drooped weakly on his head.
In the abyss, high-ranking Zerg made up only a small portion of the vast Zerg population. They all possessed the ability to mimic.
The Zerg, mimicking a humanoid form, struggled to walk further in and was soon discovered by another humanoid Zerg.
The young man who slowly approached had an unprecedented powerful posture. Each step he took resonated like a hammer striking the heart, rapidly spreading an astonishing oppressive feeling in the air.
Upon seeing the other, the wounded Zerg immediately looked as if he had seen a savior, calling out with a face full of joy and grievance, “Big brother!”
The newcomer looked down at him, his pair of pitch-black eyes glowing with a deep blue luster, like a turbulent deep sea hidden in the night.
“What happened?” he asked succinctly.
The wounded Zerg hurriedly explained. After listening, the man frowned slightly, “There are actually humans who can hurt you?”
“Not just that! I always felt that the other party didn’t use their full strength, as if they deliberately let me come back to report…” The wounded Zerg looked terrified, “Big brother, the Queen Mother asked me to hunt, but I didn’t bring anything back. If she asks me for food later…!”
At this point, the wounded Zerg looked terrified.
The “Queen Mother” was the queen of the Zerg, as well as the mother of all high-ranking Zerg. In the past, there were many large and small Zerg groups in the western area of the abyss, each group having its own queen.
But not long ago, their mother awakened from the abyss – the ancient Zerg mother quickly swallowed and gathered the remaining Zerg groups, then gave birth to them, her children, as the supporters of her new dynasty spread across the western area.
The growth rate of the high-ranking Zerg was very fast, so they now had the posture of adults. The man in front of them was their mother’s first child, their eldest brother, and the strongest among them.
At this moment, the wounded Zerg instinctively sought protection from the man.
After all, the Zerg didn’t have anything like blood relations. Especially for the Queen Mother, what she lacked the least was children, especially those like them who were later used to make up the numbers and didn’t inherit much power.
——They would definitely be eaten!
The wounded Zerg looked at the man in despair.
Facing his pleading eyes, the man seemed to think of the cruelty of their mother, so his eyes moved and he said coldly, “Wait here.”
After saying that, he spread his wings and flew out of the nest, heading in the direction the wounded Zerg had come from.
Seeing this, the wounded Zerg breathed a sigh of relief.
Great! If big brother personally took action, he would definitely be able to find prey that would satisfy the Queen Mother!

As a young noble, Grant had never faced any abyss creature since he was born, and could be said to have been well protected.
Who knew that this time he came out for a breath of fresh air, he almost got caught, which couldn’t be described as just a scare.
“Young Master, why don’t we go back to the room and rest first?” The guards tried to take the young man away.
However, Grant shook his head frantically, refusing to leave Lu Mi’s side.
He was now like a materialist whose worldview had collapsed, desperately clinging to the master’s thigh, and began to howl wildly, “Master, master, save me!”
“Will that monster come back?” Grant nervously moved closer to Lu Mi.
Lu Mi glanced at him, his silver eyes flowing, and casually replied, “As far as I know, the Zerg are very persistent towards objects they are interested in.”
“…What do you mean?”
“It means that it will persistently want to eat you, Young Master.” The guard came up to explain flatteringly.
“Get lost!” Grant glared at him.
Did he think he didn’t understand? Was that what he wanted to hear now?!
Grant tried hard to make his trembling legs less obvious, and nervously followed Lu Mi and asked, “What did you use to drive that monster away, just that whoosh! I didn’t even have time to see clearly, do extraordinaries all have this kind of power, are they all as powerful as you? Do you think I have that kind of talent?”
His words were full of a strong desire to survive.
Under the frantic questioning of the young man, Lu Mi surveyed the surroundings of the giant ship undisturbed, repeatedly recalling and confirming the direction the vanguard Zerg had left, and slowly sketched out a route map in his mind.
At this time, a bodyguard on the giant ship came over and informed the two that the auction would be advanced to half an hour later, and to please be prepared.
Before the Zerg attacked, Grant had already reported it, and Lu Mi thought they would return directly.
Now it seemed that the organizers of the auction still didn’t want to give up this event, perhaps because they didn’t see the monster with their own eyes, or because they think there were many extraordinaries and mercenaries on this ship, so there was no need to fear.
Ignorance is truly fearless.
And at this time, it seemed that Grant finally got tired and suddenly asked, “Do you want to go see the auction items?”
Lu Mi was surprised and raised his eyebrows, “They are now kept in the key storage room, which is not allowed for outsiders to enter.”
Seeing that Lu Mi was finally willing to talk to him, Grant immediately perked up and proudly patted his chest, “Of course others can’t, but my family often cooperates with them in business, so it’s no problem to go and see!”
By the time the auction started, the items would be directly taken away by the bidders, and the opportunity to gain knowledge would be gone.
Lu Mi was quite interested in the items in the mission, so the two of them directly detoured to the other end of the giant ship.
Just as they approached the key storage room, they saw people lying on the ground in front of the door.
Grant jumped up instantly, “What happened? Has the monster come again?”
A group of black-clothed bodyguards lay motionless there. Lu Mi crouched down to check their breath and found that they had just been knocked out.
“It’s not that, someone broke into the storage room.” Lu Mi said, slowly shifting his gaze to the half-open door.
This was really one wave after another.
Grant swallowed nervously and lowered his voice, “Should we go back and call someone first?”
Lu Mi shook his head, signaling the young man to stand still, and then, under the other’s tense and breathless gaze, he pushed open the door of the storage room himself.
Instantly, a shadow hanging upside down from the ceiling attacked from above.
Lu Mi had anticipated this and stepped back, raising his hand to summon his silver spear. The other party seemed to be stunned for a moment.
Clang!
The silver spear collided with a crimson curved blade, sparks splashed at the intersection of the icy blades, and the strong wind brushed past both of their cheeks, instantly blowing off the other’s hood.
This person turned out to be the hooded man on the second floor who had innocently attracted heat!
Black hair naturally fell from the hood, revealing a handsome face, a pair of eyes staring tightly at Lu Mi, looking exceptionally young.
Young people these days are getting more and more incredible. Lu Mi sighed with an inexplicably vicissitudinous mindset.
“Now is the time for the auction to start.” Lu Mi looked at the box in the other’s hand and smiled slightly, “It would be better to put the goods back.”
The black-haired youth felt the increasingly strong force of the silver spear pressing on him, and gritted his teeth, “I’m just here to take back my own things!”
Oh, there seems to be a story here.
But after all, it was an underground world auction, the origins of the items here were unclear, or there were other hidden facts, which was not surprising.
As Lu Mi was thinking casually, he once again repelled the black-haired youth who was trying to resist, and the crimson curved blade was easily flicked away.
Bang!
Salien fell to the ground, looking at the silver-eyed youth walking towards him step by step with a spear, his hand clenched little by little, his pupils trembling.
——How could it be so strong!
For a moment, Salien even doubted whether the reputation he had made in the underground world over the years was just a dream. Otherwise, how could he, who was feared by countless people as a top assassin, be so easily defeated by a person here?!
Assassins always aim for a one-hit kill, but no matter how many times he attacked from any direction, he was calmly received.
The silver spear, wrapped in a strong wind, pressed against his throat. The silver-eyed youth looked down at him, his expression unchanged from beginning to end.
“Do you want to come again?” He asked.
Like an adult indulging a child with a toy, Salien stared hard at those silver eyes, as if to engrave them deeply into his mind. Then he suddenly gave up and lay down on the ground, only his tight lips revealing a strong sense of shame and unwillingness.
Grant’s eyes were full of admiration. Seeing this, he immediately ran over, not caring about Salien’s warning and fierce eyes, and boldly picked up the box that had fallen on the ground with Lu Mi by his side.
“Oh, this is the final highlight item!” Grant had access to the auction item list in advance, so he recognized it at a glance.
Lu Mi looked over and was momentarily taken aback by what he saw inside.
It was a flute.
Interestingly, he felt the “dragon’s” breath on this flute. If you ask why he knew, it’s because among the creatures he had contracted, although there were mostly demons, there was also a dragon–probably the last dragon species in the abyss now, at least he hadn’t seen another one.
But that was still a young dragon, and the one taking care of it now was…Sequence One.
As Lu Mi thought about this, he asked, “Is this flute made from the bone of an abyss creature?”
Salien was taken aback and looked at him in astonishment, “How do you know…!” He quickly said, “This was left by my grandfather. He was a craftsman. He found a bone somewhere and made it into this flute.”
Grant: “And you are now?”
Salien’s eyes turned cold, “My grandfather noticed that this flute has some magic powers. Its flute sound can even deter some abyss creatures. But later, someone leaked the news and they snatched it from my grandfather! Until my grandfather died, he instructed me to retrieve it.”
“Your grandfather was right.” Lu Mi slowly said.
Although he didn’t know which dragon this bone belonged to, after all, the dragon species in the abyss were almost extinct now, so it’s not necessary to investigate.
A flute made of dragon bone could indeed deter weak abyss creatures, but correspondingly, it would also attract powerful abyss creatures to challenge.
The latter was simply a nightmare of courting disaster, the effect would be devastating.
Grant’s hand trembled instantly, feeling that the thing in his hand was full of danger, and subconsciously handed it to Lu Mi.
Just as Lu Mi reached out his hand.
Boom!
A huge vibration suddenly came, and the entire storage room shook a few times.
Lu Mi’s eyes moved, he looked up, “Above.”
“Above the storage room is the auction venue!” Grant also noticed the movement, “Something must have happened!”
Inside the auction venue.
Given that the auction was about to start, almost all the people on the ship had gathered here.
Suddenly, all the glass in the cabin burst open, and the splashing shards made everyone instinctively scream.
“Ah–”
The next second, a dazzling light appeared in everyone’s field of vision, like the dawn in the far north, or like a diamond refracting in the sunlight.
The howling wind poured in through the broken windows, and with the sea breeze and tide coming on, everyone suddenly saw clearly–that dazzling color was not an illusion, but came from a pair of beautiful wings.
The existence with beautiful wings that were almost dreamlike was a man who exuded a terrifyingly dangerous aura all over his body. He opened a pair of pitch-black eyes, and the deep blue light swept across the bottom of his eyes. Those eyes calmly swept over everyone present, just like the top predator searching for his prey.
Just as he was focusing on one person, suddenly, a strange flute sound rang out–as if it came from the distant ancient wilderness, deep, old, dangerous… It echoed in the mind like a bell, as if warning outsiders to stay away from this land.
He paused in his actions, suddenly turned around, and focused on the direction of the stage.
The floor there suddenly sank like an elevator, originally designed for more convenient transportation of auction items, but now suddenly transported three people up.
For a moment, all the people in the venue looked in that direction, and those who were almost targeted as prey collapsed directly on the ground.
The auction host hid in the corner with wide eyes looking at them. If it wasn’t for the wrong timing, he looked like he wanted to yell, “How did you guys come out from there?!”
“Not scared off, seemed to be quite smart. This time they sent a more powerful one?” Lu Mi put down the flute at his lips and slightly tilted his head.
At the same time, in the abyss, a hundred-meter-long young dragon suddenly woke up from its rest. Its ears moved, and it suddenly let out an anxious cry into the void.
Next to it, the white-haired demon still had traces of blood from the fight on his face, and slowly opened his eyes.
Reflected in those tired yet crazy eyes was the sky above, more boundless than desire. Countless insects were flying in groups from the sky, gathering towards the barren land in the distance, and to that increasingly large black rift.
