- Chapter 185 - The Creepy Student Council President Who Stalks His Senpai (3) The Clingy Dog
A fine drizzle pattered against the window, while an eerie silence filled the room.
Before Su Ci could even speak, Feng Jiming already looked awkward.
He tried to recover: “I’m the head of the Academy’s Cybersecurity Division. Promoting campus SIM cards is one of our departmental duties. You don’t need to feel surprised.”
The ten-yuan monthly fee was just a front. The endless freebies were too. The real value of the campus SIM card wasn’t in making calls—it was a golden ticket to exclusive resources.
The Academy’s most elite databanks could only be accessed by registering with a campus number.
Naturally, not just anyone could get one. Even students from upper-middle-tier families needed to pull strings and call in favors.
Chu Junling had explicitly told him to deliver one to the new exchange student, even saying, “On account of you and the Feng family.” Feng Jiming couldn’t wrap his head around it.
The Fengs had always served the Chu family. If you looked at it plainly, both he and the Fengs were basically Chu Junling’s vassals. What “face” could a vassal possibly have? It was laughable.
Could it be… he was actually interested in this exchange student?
A bizarre and suffocating thought.
In this world, a SIM card the size of a fingernail was worth its weight in gold. It was more than access—it was a symbol of status.
Su Ci, of course, didn’t turn it down.
“The campus card sounds great. Thanks, Senior Feng. I’ll go to the student council building tomorrow and find someone from the cybersecurity division to help me sign up.”
Why not just come straight to me?
Watching the calm look in her eyes, Feng Jiming almost blurted something inappropriate.
But Su Ci didn’t notice anything off. She pulled a compact umbrella from her locker and handed it over.
“It’s raining. Take care on your way out, Senior Feng.”
Every word was laced with polite dismissal. Feng Jiming had no doubt—if not for the benefactor-recipient relationship, she probably would’ve shoved the umbrella in his arms and shut the door in his face.
Her intent to send him off was clear. He wasn’t a creep or some lovesick puppy—he could only straighten his suit, suppress the frustration in his chest, and leave.
At dawn, Su Ci slung her bag over her shoulder and headed to the cafeteria for breakfast. As she walked along the tree-lined path, that suffocating sense of being watched returned—stronger than ever.
The unseen gaze was impossible to ignore. It pressed on her like something solid, like a predator eyeing its prey.
She slowed her pace and glanced around.
A thick mist lingered among the trees. Occasionally, rays of sunlight pierced through, creating breathtaking beams of light—the Tyndall effect. Beautiful to the point of feeling unreal.
The scent of greenery, the chirping of birds, and the hum of cicadas masked the presence of something far more sinister.
“Excuse me! Could you move?”
A narrow path through the woods led to the cafeteria—a shortcut just wide enough for three people side by side. Su Ci walked along the outermost third.
Even so, a girl behind her slammed into her shoulder. The sharp heel of her shoe slipped on the cobblestones, and Su Ci fell hard to the ground.
Xia Chuhe had already dashed a few meters ahead but reluctantly circled back.
“Sorry, I was in a rush to get breakfast and didn’t see you. Are you—”
But when she saw Su Ci’s face, her outstretched hand froze midair. Her expression faltered, and her voice turned bitter and accusatory.
“Oh, it’s you? Serves you right.”
She muttered under her breath as she walked off: “You just stood there last night and watched me get bullied. Now you fall? Call it karma.”
Xia Chuhe wasn’t afraid of revenge. After all, Su Ci’s badge, like hers, was marked F-class—the bottom rung of the Academy’s social ladder.
Su Ci had twisted her ankle. As she sat on the bench rubbing her throbbing knee, a figure suddenly stepped into view, casting a shadow over her.
“Are you alright, Senpai?”
The boy’s voice was clear and warm. He wore a plain tracksuit, wireless earbuds hanging around his neck, and his body still carried a faint bitter-orange scent from his post-run sweat.
He crouched beside her. His long lashes brushed against his cheek, softening his sharp features and adding a hint of youthful innocence to his otherwise mature appearance.
His polite tone and harmless looks made him seem like the perfect gentleman.
With his help, Su Ci got to her feet and sat on the public bench nearby.
“Thanks. I just need to rest a bit… Were you out for a run? I didn’t notice you earlier.”
Chu Junling didn’t sit. Instead, he knelt beside the bench, lower than her line of sight. He tilted his head up and smiled with narrowed eyes.
“Of course you didn’t notice me… Ah, sorry, what I meant was—”
“A first-year with a terrible reputation? Why would someone as popular and well-liked as you give someone like me the time of day?”
It was only the first day.
Classes hadn’t even officially started.
And already, he was being stalked by wolves.
What could he do?
All he could do was protect his senpai… closely.
But she didn’t seem too grateful. In fact, she seemed suspicious of his every word, treating him like some pervy stalker.
Senpai… that kind of vigilance is wasted on me.
Save it for that girl just now.
Chu Junling’s smile brightened, but his tone held a trace of bitterness, painting himself as the innocent victim.
Though he wasn’t wearing an ID badge, the aura around him was unmistakable. Su Ci returned his warmth with a polite smile.
“Is that so? I don’t think anyone could dislike someone so helpful. I’m sure they’ll come around eventually. There’s just a little misunderstanding, that’s all.”
“Well, as long as you like me, Senpai.”
As he spoke sweetly, his gaze dipped. He cupped her lower calf in his palm and clumsily slipped off her shoe.
“My name’s Chu—Chu Junling. When I’m not in class, I’m usually in Room 705 in the Zhixue Building. Got that, Senpai? Come chat with me sometime.”
His tone was light and cheerful, but the way his long fingers removed her sock left her intentions hard to read—and oddly touching.
“It gets really boring working there alone, you know?”
Zhixue Building—the student council headquarters.
If she didn’t already know he was the one who’d designed the building’s strict security protocols—making sure no unauthorized personnel could enter without an appointment—she might’ve believed his lonely-little-boy routine.
He balled up the sock and stuffed it into his pocket. Then, cupping her swollen ankle with one warm palm, he gently massaged the red swelling.
Just a little lower, and his lips would’ve brushed her skin.
“Does that feel better, Senpai?”
He lifted her leg and rested her foot on his knee. Without the tight pressure of her shoes, her arch curved perfectly.
Her foot was so soft in his hand.
So pretty—and yet she still had to walk around?
The way his knee bone pressed against her calf made Su Ci instinctively flinch back.
“…It tickles.”
“Don’t move. I’m a professional.”
Her attempt to pull away was quickly stopped. He held her ankle in place, the sole of her foot pressed flush against his palm, muscles taut.
Once the swelling subsided a bit, he slipped her shoe back on. Intentionally or not, he completely ignored the sock he had pocketed.
“Where’s your class? I’ll walk you there.”
Su Ci lowered her eyes. “My…”
That’s when Chu Junling finally noticed her mismatched legs.
His tone was apologetic, but his face was calm.
“Ah, you mean that thing? Looks like it got torn. No worries. I’ll just take the other one off too, Senpai.”
A clingy dog with an ultra-strong sense of possessiveness—cold, arrogant, and vicious to everyone else, but clingy and sweet toward his senpai. A bit over the line (Su Ci lowkey enjoying it), please go easy on him.
