“You!” Qin Mei seemed startled by Sun Weiqi’s cold gaze and his imposing aura. She stepped back a few steps and would have fallen if Qin Dong hadn’t caught her.

Seeing this, Qin Dong yelled at Lin Mengting, “Mengting, do you have to treat us like this? Don’t you care about our past friendship? Even if you can’t accept my love, you didn’t have to find someone to pretend with.”

Qin Dong clutched his chest and stumbled back, looking as if he was heartbroken by this “cruel reality.”

Feeling reassured, Lin Mengting nudged Sun Weiqi’s arm and asked, “Do you have any friends working in a mental hospital?”

Sun Weiqi immediately understood her hint and nodded. “Yes.”

Feeling trusted and cared for, Lin Mengting smiled brightly, the shadow in her eyes vanishing. “Then call them to take these two with ‘paranoid delusions’ for some good treatment!”

Sun Weiqi glanced at Qin Mei and Qin Dong, his gaze as cold and fierce as a beast ready to attack. They stepped back again, swallowing their retorts.

Satisfied, Sun Weiqi nodded. “That hospital has strict rules. They might not qualify.”

“They have connections and money. They won’t owe the hospital any fees,” Lin Mengting said, pretending not to understand Sun Weiqi’s hidden meaning. “You know, some people can get special treatment because of their connections.”
