- Chapter 48 - The Villainous Prince, Acquires an Overly Powerful Cheat Ability
Well.
As the story progressed to a certain extent, I once again acquired the following extra skills.
――――――――――
【List of Available Extra Skills】
・Mind Control (Small)
・Body Manipulation (Small)
・Gravity Magic Available
―――――――――――
These extra skills, to put it simply, are unique abilities that only certain characters can learn.
For instance, the game’s protagonist might learn something like “Recall Conversation” or “Mapping” – fairly common skills.
While these abilities are invaluable for beginners, for players who have extensively played the game, they might as well be unnecessary.
However, Esmeralda Dia Vefeld is known as one of the top characters to turn to the dark side in the story.
So the extra skills I ended up with were unsurprisingly dark abilities.
Since I’d never used these skills before, I decided to test them out one by one.
First off was mind control.
“…Would you mind making some incredibly delicious food?”
“As you wish.”
In my room…
When I gave such an order to a young servant while using “Mind Control”…
Incredibly delicious food was brought over.
“…Well, isn’t that obvious‼”
Although it’s an unbelievable situation compared to my previous life, I am currently reigning at the top in the Elf Kingdom.
Naturally, any order I give will be obeyed as a matter of course.
…No help there.
Should I then use this on big-breasted female elves and issue some naughty orders…?
No, no, that’s wrong.
That would make me no different from Yurisia.
The villain character I idolize wouldn’t misuse their abilities for such lowly purposes.
Let’s save this for times when it’s truly necessary, yes.
With that decision, I tried the skill on an opponent who would never obey me under normal circumstances – a monster.
“Dance in place.”
“Pi♪”
In the Elfria Forest Zone…
A Golden Ant, which would normally flee upon encounter, began a joyful dance at my command.
“Oh…”
Of course, I’ve never experienced anything like this in the past.
Golden Ants have abnormally high experience points but are also set with high alertness in the game.
Displaying a defenseless posture in front of an enemy is something that would never normally be considered.
It seems not all monsters respond to mind control as expected. To put it simply, the skill works on lower-leveled monsters (up to level 50 as of now).
The skill name explicitly includes (Small), suggesting this is a skill that grows. As the level increases, so does the range of targets it affects.
As for “Body Manipulation”, compared to mind control, it’s significantly more sinister.
To answer simply, while the consciousness remains normal, the body can be manipulated according to my will.
Wanting to move right, but the body simply won’t respond…
That’s the idea.
“Is there actually a use for this…?”
Ultimately, the result doesn’t differ much from “Mind Control”.
I honestly don’t see the point in differentiating the two, but this game is a meticulously crafted story RPG. Maybe there’s some use for it, who knows.
Then there’s gravity magic.
This one’s straightforward.
You can specify a target and determine how many times to multiply the gravitational force upon them.
Moreover, when applied to oneself, the experience points obtained after victorious combat also double.
Double the gravity, and the experience points double; triple the gravity, and they triple… correlating the increase in obtained experience points according to the multiplied gravity.
“Kukkukku…”
So, the decision is easy.
The Elfria Forest Zone would normally be a place with no further value for leveling up, but if experience points can be doubled, that changes the story.
Additionally, with “Mind Control”, the Golden Ant’s movements can be sealed.
Completely negating the downside of increased gravity.
“Let’s get even stronger, kukkukku…”
Game-wise, to put it bluntly, Yurisia’s conspiracy barely scratches the surface.
The story’s about to get a lot more intense, and the difficulty will rise, so my level needs to go up as well.
…Well, certainly, it’s just the blood of a hardcore gamer boiling, in reality.
