Chapter 1 Part 1- Secretary Chen

Mondays are always the busiest at Weiming, especially when it’s the first day of every month.

In the large office, the only sounds that could be heard were that of hurried footsteps and the clacking of keyboards. Everyone’s hands and desks were filled with documents.

“Ding Dong~”

The sound of the automatic glass door closing was heard, and everyone in the president’s office looked at the person who had come in.

It was exactly nine o’clock on the glass door.

“Good morning.” The young man carrying a KFC breakfast smiled gently, not feeling nervous or awkward at all about arriving at the post on dot.

“Secretary Chen!!!”

“Secretary Chen, you’re finally here!”

“Secretary Chen, please save us!”

Everyone stood up suddenly and ran towards the young man like the zombies that one could see in the pop-up ads on the computer .

The young man immediately took a step back.

His eyes widened, his hands behind his back, grabbing the warm breakfast pack and asked, “What’s wrong? Why does everyone look like the sky is falling apart?”

“Oh, ui, let me in!” A short man squeezed out from behind and finally managed to show his head.

“Wu Tingmiao, not now. Please come later.” The young man raised his chin and gestured to the short man to speak.

Wu Tingmiao wiped the sweat from his forehead and spoke hurriedly, “We just received last month’s summary report. But after checking carefully, we found out that the R&D department was missing a set of experimental data, and the marketing department was missing two background check files!”

“Every department is busy today. We made several internal calls and sent people down to check several times, but they just said that it was approved anyway and that they didn’t have time to help us find it!”

The summary reports of each department referred to the files that President Lian had to read every week. If there was anything missing, other departments could push the blame on them, and then their President’s office would be in trouble!

The young man hesitated for a moment, then laughed again and asked, “Why are you panicking so much about such a small matter?”

He walked to the back and sat down leisurely in front of a desk that looked like it was seldom used. Even the surface was all dusty.

As he walked, all the employees of the President’s office followed him, like ducklings following their mother duck, feeling nervous and helpless.

The young man turned on his computer, retrieved the old system files, and casually sent an email to the department where the files were missing. Then he took out his cell phone and made a call.

Is it because the system was powered off and the data was not uploaded successfully?”

The next stop waswas the marketing department.

Chen Xun was not as gentle as usual, but seriously sent the exported email history to the other party, and sent a WeChat voice message:

“Mr. Liu, your marketing department hasn’t issued background check reports for these two companies for a whole week. If you don’t don’t do it soon, then, during today’s meeting, these two companies will be removed from the list of contractors because the background check reports are missing.”

Everyone cheered and the whole office was in an uproar.

As the senior most employee in the President’s Office except Chen Xun, Wu Tingmiao had to admire Chen Xun’s ability to control people.

Engineer He is an old cadre who retired from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has excellent technical skills, but his temper is terrible. He is as hard as a rock, heartless and unloving. No one can say a single word to him.

Not to mention Director Liu, he’s a time-worn old fox from the marketing department, and the best at talking in a slick way. Every time he’s clearly wrong, he’ll still insist on saying that others are too fussy. Many people have fallen into his hands in this way.

As there was still half an hour left before the regular meeting, Chen Xun picked up his breakfast bag and walked towards the elevator.

Instead of going to the conference room, he pressed the call button to the top floor.

As everyone knows, the floor above the President’s Office is the office of Weiming’s CEO, Lian Xufeng.

Wu Tingmiao’s footsteps following Chen Xun came to an abrupt halt, he was stunned and retreated away.

Chen Xun reacted so strongly that he burst into laughter. When the elevator opened, he remembered something and quickly turned to Wu Tingmiao who was standing outside and waving his hand mechanically. He informed him, “There is a new employee joining us. He is going through the formalities in the Human Resources Department. You can take care of him.”

“I’ll make sure to complete the order!” Wu Tingmiao saluted in a standard way. After the elevator closed, he muttered to himself with lingering fear, “As long as I don’t have to be in contact with CEO Lian, anything is fine…”
