Six Ring Wizard - Chapter 287
Chapter 287: A Generous Reward
Doren, being someone who could communicate with a dark god from the Abyss Plane, had a certain value.
The wizards could use him to gather information and intelligence from the other side.
Doren was imprisoned under special supervision.
The cell he was placed in was specially designed to block communication between Abyssal cultists and other planes.
This wasn’t the first time something like this had happened. Doren wasn’t the first Abyssal cultist to be imprisoned, and Silvermoon City had plenty of experience in handling such cases.
“Helag, the contribution points have been calculated. You’ve earned a total of 50 points this time!” Pruis said with a smile.
“Fifty points? That seems like a lot,” Helag remarked, remembering that the guidance mission Pruis had assigned him when he first arrived in the Land of Dawn had only earned him 20 points.
Seeing Helag’s lackluster reaction, Pruis sighed. “What do you mean, ‘seems like’? Fifty points is a lot! Contribution points aren’t easy to come by. You got this many because the person we captured was an Abyssal cultist.”
Helag took out his magic stone and checked his balance. “I’ve got 50 points total now.”
Pruis patted his shoulder. “You should start saving up more contribution points. When you really need them, it’ll be too late to start. For example, when you want to advance to a second-level wizard and need to exchange for something with the power of rules, you’ll need to have accumulated 3,000 points just to qualify for the exchange. And that’s after going through an approval process.”
“You’ve only got 50 points now. Are you planning to start collecting them when you’re ready to advance? Helag, you’ve got talent and potential. I have no doubt you’ll reach second-level wizard, so you should start preparing now.”
Helag nodded. “Thank you for the advice, Mr. Pruis. I’ll keep that in mind.”
After talking with Pruis, Helag realized he needed to start focusing on accumulating contribution points sooner rather than later.
Seranthiel’s management was quite relaxed—everything was based on individual initiative.
But if you wanted resources from Seranthiel, you had to put in the effort and take action.
All resources were tied to contribution points, and those points were earned based on how much you contributed to Seranthiel.
To advance to a second-level wizard, the power of rules was essential, and you needed to accumulate 3,000 contribution points to exchange for it.
The good news was that you didn’t need to spend 3,000 points in one go. As long as your total historical contributions added up to 3,000 points, you’d qualify.
Helag decided that from now on, his main focus would be on earning contribution points and reaching the 3,000-point mark as soon as possible.
“Mr. Pruis, if you ever have more missions like this, count me in,” Helag said, half-jokingly.
He wasn’t just looking to take advantage of easy opportunities; he was signaling his willingness to participate in future missions, hoping Pruis would keep him in mind.
Pruis understood his intent and smiled. “Of course.”
They were both part of Parker’s faction, and helping each other was expected.
Strengthening the overall group benefited everyone.
With Doren imprisoned, Helag’s involvement in the mission was complete.
He left the prison and found that there were no carriages nearby, so he had to walk for a while.
After reaching a busier part of the city, he finally hailed a carriage to take him home, where he planned to start working on his contribution point strategy.
As Helag sat in the carriage, he opened his magic stone and saw that he had messages.
While inside the prison, the magic stone couldn’t be used for communication due to the wizard array that blocked the magic web signal.
Only people like Pruis, who had administrative privileges, could communicate from within the prison.
Helag checked his messages and was surprised to see one from Amisha, the wealthy young lady.
“Mr. Helag, thank you for saving my life and escorting me home last time. After that day, I was forbidden from leaving the house, but I’ve finally been allowed out again. Do you have time for a meal? I’d like to thank you for saving my life,” Amisha wrote.
There was nothing wrong with her message. After all, if Helag hadn’t covered her eyes in time, Amisha would likely not be alive today.
Helag didn’t reply immediately. Instead, he thought things over.
One of the advantages of magic stone communication was that it didn’t require an immediate response. You could take your time to think before replying.
Helag had no desire to get involved with Amisha.
The internal affairs of the Mori family were clearly beyond the scope of what a low-level wizard like him could handle. If he got caught up in the power struggles of such a powerful family, he might not even know how he died.
Helag’s only goal right now was to become stronger.
Anything that didn’t contribute to that goal was something he wanted to avoid.
After thinking it over, Helag replied, “Thank you for the invitation, Miss Amisha, but I’ve been busy dealing with matters related to Abyssal cultists. There’s no need for a meal. Protecting the citizens of Silvermoon City is part of my duty as a member of Seranthiel.”
Amisha read Helag’s polite response and felt a little disappointed.
“Helag, I just want to see you,” she sent back.
Helag sighed when he saw the message. He couldn’t understand why this woman, after only chatting with him briefly and meeting him once, had taken such an interest in him.
But meeting her was out of the question. The head of the Mori family had made it clear—stay away from his daughter.
Helag had no intention of getting involved in that mess, so he firmly rejected Amisha’s request and stopped replying, hoping she would give up.
After sending a few more messages and receiving no response, Amisha finally stopped.
Relieved, Helag was about to put down his magic stone when another message came through.
This time, it was from Wendy, the widow. Helag frowned. What was it with all these women contacting him today?
“Mr. Helag, thank you again for your help. If it weren’t for you, I can’t imagine what would have happened. When you have time, I’d like to host a banquet in your honor to show my gratitude,” Wendy wrote.
Helag glanced at the message and jokingly replied, “I’ve been really busy lately, so no need for a meal. A generous donation would be better than a warm meal.”
“No problem,” Wendy replied with just three words.
A notification popped up on Helag’s magic stone, indicating that he had received a transfer.
Helag quickly checked and was stunned.
Wendy had transferred 100,000 magic stones to him!
He immediately replied, “Mrs. Wendy, this is too much. I was only joking!”
“It’s not too much. My life is worth far more than 100,000 magic stones. You saved my life, and this is just a small token of my gratitude. I will always remember what you did for me. I know you’re probably busy dealing with the Abyssal cultist situation, so I won’t take up any more of your time. But when you’re free, let me know, and I’ll give you the highest level of hospitality.”
