Six Ring Wizard - Chapter 357
Chapter 357: Eye of the Storm
Martina, with her injured leg, could only crawl backward.
Her ample chest heaved with rapid breaths, her heart filled with fear.
She knew her strength well.
Though a liquefied wizard, she relied on Buck’s resources to reach this level.
Her combat skills were weak, with little real experience.
Helag, able to withstand Buck, a second-level wizard, was beyond her and her peers.
Especially now, injured, her chances were slim.
Helag’s gaze lingered on her moving form for a moment.
But he wouldn’t be swayed; now wasn’t the time for such thoughts.
Martina, skilled in reading people, noticed Helag’s gaze and quickly said, “Spare me, I’m yours. I’ll serve you well. Please, spare my life.”
She stopped retreating, ignoring her pain, emphasizing her physical appeal.
Helag replied, “You’re trying hard to live, but sorry, you all must die.”
He aimed the World Tree Bow at Martina’s head.
Martina opened her mouth to plead further.
Bang, a headless body hit the ground.
Two conscious men, seeing this, gathered magic for a last stand.
They had no hope of mercy from Helag.
If Martina, so attractive, was killed without hesitation, they had no chance.
Helag’s decisive killing of Martina showed his intent to kill them all.
Noticing their actions, Helag saw their unstable magic due to injuries.
As they began gathering magic, Helag fired the World Tree Bow.
Two arrows flew, leaving two more headless bodies.
After dealing with the conscious ones, Helag sheathed the bow, drawing a sword from his spatial ring.
He swiftly finished off the others in the courtyard.
Helag took each person’s spatial ring, lacking time to inspect them, storing them for later examination.
He piled the bodies together, carefully using scattered flames from the castle to burn them.
The flames grew, consuming the bodies.
The Burner’s stray flames had such power, Helag was glad it hadn’t targeted him.
Buck, as a second-level wizard, had stronger magic than the others.
To the Burner, Buck was a potential meal.
Helag and the others were like ants, easily ignored.
Unless the Burner was in a bad mood, it wouldn’t bother with them.
After cleaning up, Helag left quickly.
Though unlikely, he couldn’t risk the Burner returning to crush them.
If it did, Helag’s only chance was activating the plane coordinates to escape to the Abyssal Plane.
Leaving the castle, Helag moved east swiftly.
Buck had fled north, with the Burner in pursuit.
Helag saw this as the best time to escape.
With the Burner’s presence, nearby creatures and dangers would avoid the area.
Traveling now was safest, with less risk of encountering creatures.
While traveling, Helag examined the five spatial rings he collected.
First, he found a communication stone, which he discarded.
The stone only worked with the owner’s magic, useless to others.
It was also a liability, easily identifying him.
Helag didn’t know which wizard organization they belonged to.
Their deaths would soon reach their faction.
Buck was likely dead, a significant loss for any faction, warranting investigation.
The stone had a locator function, revealing general location.
Only high-ranking officials could access this information.
It wasn’t for surveillance, as the location was imprecise.
For example, in Silvermoon City, it only indicated presence in the city, not specifics.
Wizards usually stayed in cities, making the locator less useful there.
It was for use outside cities, in the polluted zone.
Without a magic network, normal communication failed there.
The locator worked without the network, aiding investigation if a wizard encountered trouble.
Knowing this, Helag discarded the stone immediately.
He checked each ring for tracking devices.
Finding none, he assumed they lacked high status, unlikely to have such items.
“What’s this…”
Helag found a notebook in one ring, opening it to find a diary.
It seemed to belong to a male student, detailing experiences with Buck.
Reading it, Helag learned much.
“Eye of the Storm…”
Helag knew of Eye of the Storm, one of six major wizard organizations.
Its influence was mainly in the Land of Dawn’s west, controlling many cities there.
Realizing this, Helag deduced he was likely in the west.
If not, he wasn’t far, certainly not in the east.
Eye of the Storm wouldn’t travel far east without reason.
