Six Ring Wizard - Chapter 358
Chapter 358: The City
With a general sense of his location, Helag felt more at ease.
At least he knew his approximate direction.
Previously, he worried about accidentally heading to the eastern coast.
Learning these people belonged to Eye of the Storm was concerning.
Eye of the Storm was notoriously aggressive. If they learned many of their members were killed by him, they’d surely cause trouble.
Eye of the Storm had one fourth-level wizard, codenamed Eye of the Storm.
Seranthiel had three, but they weren’t as aggressive.
Eye of the Storm’s wizard was said to be the closest to a fifth-level wizard in the Land of Dawn.
In this world, top-tier strength was paramount.
Numbers didn’t matter if the levels were too different.
Eye of the Storm’s leader was aggressive and protective.
This made his subordinates equally aggressive.
Buck didn’t ask Helag’s identity before attacking, due to this mindset.
They were used to being domineering, dismissing others.
Helag worried about encountering Eye of the Storm members.
He didn’t know how Buck’s group arrived or from which direction.
Helag guessed they wouldn’t enter the polluted zone alone, likely having companions.
He might encounter more Eye of the Storm members while traveling.
He needed to prepare, avoiding being caught off guard.
As he traveled, Helag searched the spatial rings he collected.
There was little wealth, few magic stones and coins.
Most people in the Land of Dawn stored magic stones and coins in banks, not carrying much.
He found some valuable potions and materials, though he didn’t need them, they were better than nothing.
Opening a uniquely designed ring, Helag found something valuable.
The ring, set with a ruby, was clearly for women.
Helag recalled it belonged to Martina.
Inside, he found many black and white stockings, and various outfits…
Of course, these weren’t the valuable items.
Helag discarded the clothing.
He found a feather, the most valuable item in Martina’s ring.
It was a magical artifact.
Examining it, Helag understood its effect.
Activating the feather granted flight.
Though not fast, it allowed bird-like flight.
“It’s called… Feather of Flight.”
Helag thought it useful, potentially handy.
He could only fly freely in the Abyssal Plane, using spells like Feather Fall here to slow descent.
But full flight wasn’t possible yet.
Martina hadn’t used the feather, not because she forgot, but lacked the chance.
Helag held the World Tree Bow, capable of damaging a second-level spell like Cage of Stone, proving its strength.
Martina knew using the Feather of Flight wouldn’t help her escape, only making her a target.
In combat, the feather was impractical due to its slow speed.
For wizards, airborne targets weren’t hard to hit unless very high.
Helag recalled the strange plant encounter, where the feather would have let him fly away after surfacing.
Besides the feather, he found valuable jewels.
Some were marked with the White Mountain Black Water brand, from Lady Wendy’s family.
These jewels were likely worth magic stones, though Helag couldn’t appraise them.
White Mountain Black Water was a luxury brand among wizards, not cheap.
After checking the rings, only the Feather of Flight had real value.
“Too bad I didn’t get Buck’s ring…” Helag sighed.
As a second-level wizard, Buck’s ring likely held many treasures.
But Buck fled from the Burner, his fate unknown.
Helag briefly considered scavenging, but dismissed it.
Encountering the Burner would be suicidal.
He couldn’t be tempted; resources were secondary to survival.
Helag aimed for steady growth, prioritizing safety over resources.
Traveling for six hours, Helag saw no creatures.
He saw traces of creatures passing.
The tracks suggested they fled quickly, likely scared by the Burner.
The Burner’s presence scared away nearby creatures.
Helag was relieved, knowing the Burner cleared his path.
He saw a footprint over ten meters long, the creature’s size unknown.
Facing such a creature would be deadly.
But the Burner scared them off, easing Helag’s journey.
After several more hours, night approached.
Helag hesitated, unsure whether to continue.
Ahead lay a city.
A vast city, with sprawling buildings.
Closer, Helag saw it was dilapidated, filled with ruins.
The city had tall, thick walls, indicating its former prosperity.
The walls were more impressive than Silvermoon City’s.
Now, the walls were mostly collapsed, full of gaps.
Only parts remained standing.
From these, Helag saw how grand they once were.
He knew this was a city from the era of the Six-Ring Tower, the peak of the wizard plane’s power.
