Chapter 445: Spirit of the White Deer
Helag didn’t chase after the white deer. Instead, he pulled out a handful of grass and said, “Want to eat this?”
The white deer stood at a distance, watching Helag warily. Its eyes immediately locked onto the fresh grass.
Since being trapped in Black Space, it hadn’t eaten anything.
Holding the grass as bait, Helag tempted, “Looks fresh, doesn’t it? If you want it, let’s make a deal. Give me a bit of your blood, and I’ll make sure you never go hungry again.”
He wasn’t sure if the deer could understand him, but it was worth a try.
As a plane’s chosen, the white deer should possess some intelligence, so there was a chance it could grasp his meaning.
The deer remained cautious, not approaching but also not retreating.
Helag pulled out a dagger from his spatial ring and tossed it to the ground. The deer, startled, teleported further away, keeping a wary eye on him.
“If you understand me and agree to the deal, leave some of your blood on the dagger. I promise you’ll never go hungry again,” Helag said.
The deer stared at him, then glanced at the dagger on the ground and back at the grass in his hand, seemingly contemplating.
After a long pause, it slowly approached the dagger.
Seeing this, Helag realized the deer could indeed understand him.
It was finally bowing its noble head to the temptation of food.
Cautiously, the deer reached the dagger, keeping a close watch on Helag’s movements.
Helag stood still, not wanting to scare it off.
The deer used its front hoof to make a small cut on its leg, allowing a few drops of blood to drip onto the dagger.
Its recovery was swift, and the wound quickly stopped bleeding and began to heal.
After leaving its blood, the deer retreated, watching Helag from a distance.
Helag approached, picked up the dagger, and collected the blood into a vial.
Afterward, he placed the grass on the ground and left Black Space.
Once he was gone, the deer, though starving, waited a long time before cautiously approaching the grass.
When it was sure there was no danger, it began to eat, alleviating its hunger.
Helag, observing from outside, watched the deer’s behavior for a while before storing Black Space away.
He still wasn’t sure what kind of creature the white deer was, but he decided to keep it around for further study.
The deer had a powerful bloodline, something Helag could clearly sense.
Looking at the vial of blood, Helag focused his magic, and the phantom of an ancient stone tablet appeared behind him.
The bloodline power within the blood was quickly absorbed, merging into his bloodline mark.
“It can be absorbed by the bloodline mark…”
Helag hadn’t expected the white deer’s bloodline to be strong enough to be absorbed by his mark. Until now, only two bloodlines had been worthy: the Thunder God Ancestor bloodline and the Royal Elf bloodline.
Now, the white deer’s bloodline became the third.
White Deer Spirit: Innately attuned to spatial rules, allowing limited manipulation of spatial power.
This was the ability Helag gained after absorbing the deer’s bloodline.
Closing his eyes, he could now clearly sense the presence of spatial rules.
With a thought, Helag vanished and reappeared a few meters away inside the Wildfire Tent.
He estimated that his ability to teleport was similar to the deer’s, with a range of about 100 meters.
Helag also noticed that his physical body had undergone subtle changes since absorbing the deer’s bloodline.
The white deer’s innate ability was incredibly powerful, allowing it to naturally manipulate rules.
Wizards needed to push their mental crystals to the limit to have the strength to bear the spell models of second-level spells.
Human bodies were naturally incapable of handling rule power, which was why wizards had to find other ways to bear it.
But the white deer’s bloodline was extraordinary, allowing it to use rule power from birth.
For the deer, spatial teleportation was as natural as breathing.
Now that Helag had absorbed its bloodline, he too had gained this ability.
In theory, Helag could now learn second-level spatial spells.
His body was now capable of handling spatial rule power, thanks to the white deer’s bloodline.
Helag felt as though he was walking a path different from conventional wizards. The potential of the Great Dark Heaven spell far exceeded his expectations.
However, he wasn’t ready to attempt constructing a second-level spell model just yet. His mental strength wasn’t sufficient, and his theory was still untested.
While he could theoretically learn second-level spells, the actual spell models were extremely complex.
Helag wasn’t willing to gamble on constructing a second-level spell model in his mind. A mistake could be catastrophic.
He decided to follow the conventional path, focusing on pushing his mental crystal to its peak before attempting to construct a second-level spell model within it.
This was the safest approach.
Besides, Helag didn’t currently have any second-level spells to learn. Even if he could construct a model, it would have to be a spatial spell.
The decoding of the second ancient stone tablet was still ongoing, and even with continuous magic input, it would take over a year to complete.
Even when it was decoded, it was unlikely to be a spatial spell. Such coincidences were rare.
From his experience with the Great Dark Heaven spell, Helag suspected the ancient stone tablets didn’t contain conventional spells, making it difficult to categorize them.
This added another layer of complexity to using the stone tablet’s spells for his second-level spell, as finding a corresponding Key of Rules would be challenging.
Helag planned to wait until Deep Blue fully decoded the tablet before making any decisions.
Given the strength of the white deer’s bloodline, Helag had no intention of wasting it.
He planned to periodically extract a bit of the deer’s blood and absorb its bloodline power to further enhance his understanding and control of spatial rules.
Reflecting on the situation, Helag realized that World X-617 had immense potential.
If the bloodline of the plane’s chosen, like the white deer, could be passed down and developed into a large-scale race…
