Chapter 451: Arnt
After entering the space, Helag reverted from his Titan form to his original appearance.
He pulled out a robe and draped it over himself.
Sitting on the sofa, Helag sank into the cushions, deep in thought about his next steps. Now that he had found traces of other wizards, he needed to plan carefully.
First, he needed to remain hidden. Helag was glad he hadn’t revealed his real name in Leaf Town, nor had he used any spells.
Even when dealing with the black gorilla, he hadn’t used his White Deer Spirit ability.
Helag didn’t want to reveal too much in front of Aed, maintaining the facade of being a powerful exorcist.
With his Demonic Power ability, he could perfectly disguise himself as an exorcist, which set him apart from other wizards.
No matter how well other wizards disguised themselves, they couldn’t absorb or utilize demonic aura.
Helag pulled out a vial of Shapeshifter Potion from his spatial ring and drank it in one gulp, quickly transforming into an unremarkable young man.
He suppressed all traces of his magical aura to make his disguise even more convincing.
Helag planned to continue acting as an exorcist, using his Titan Power as his supposed awakened exorcist ability.
However, he knew he couldn’t use his Titan form in crowded places, as other wizards might recognize it.
His plan was to hunt demons, gather demonic aura, and simultaneously search for other wizards—especially Medel, who he needed to eliminate.
Medel posed a significant threat to Helag, and after threatening Helag’s friends, Medel had become a target Helag was determined to kill.
Though there was no news of Medel yet, Helag was confident he would eventually find clues.
The wizards who had arrived in this world couldn’t hide forever; they would slip up at some point.
Helag lay back on the sofa, glancing out the window. All was quiet.
Inside Fallen Wing, he could see the surroundings clearly through the windows.
Staying here, Helag didn’t have to worry about safety. As a third-tier magical tool, Fallen Wing couldn’t be easily breached by ordinary means.
With this tool, Helag felt much more secure while camping in the wilderness.
After spending the night meditating, Helag set out again at dawn.
He followed the road for a day, and after several more hours the next day, he realized that the path he was on was just a small road.
It intersected with two other roads, converging into a much wider main road.
Helag examined the ground, noticing many fresh hoofprints and wheel tracks, indicating that this road was frequently traveled.
Following Aed’s earlier directions, Helag continued along the main road.
Without a cart, traveling on foot was much slower. Helag estimated he wouldn’t reach Greenfield City until dusk.
After walking for two hours, it was now noon, and the sun was high in the sky, beating down intensely.
Helag wasn’t bothered by the heat and continued walking without concern for the scorching sun.
Suddenly, the sound of galloping hooves came from behind him, and it sounded like a large group.
Helag turned to see a group of riders speeding toward him from the horizon.
The riders were all dressed in uniform armor, looking like a military unit.
Helag glanced at them briefly before continuing on his way.
The riders sped past him, only giving him a cursory glance before continuing on their way.
At the front of the group was a burly man with a beard, who appeared to be the leader. He looked to be in his thirties and had a commanding presence.
Helag could sense that this man was no ordinary soldier. He had traces of demonic aura, indicating he was likely a powerful exorcist.
The group had ridden about a kilometer ahead when, unexpectedly, they turned around and came back.
The bearded leader rode up to Helag and asked, “Are you heading to Greenfield City?”
“Yes,” Helag nodded.
The leader said, “Why don’t you ride with us? We have an extra horse. Can you ride?”
“I can, but I’m fine walking on my own. Thanks for the offer,” Helag replied politely.
The leader continued, “I’m Arnt, the Knight Commander of Greenfield City’s Lord’s Manor. The area around Greenfield has been dangerous lately. Many demons have left their territories, causing chaos. It’s not safe to travel alone. You should come with us.”
Helag noticed a faint scent of blood on Arnt’s armor—not human blood, but that of demons.
This suggested that the group had recently been in a battle and were now returning to Greenfield City.
They could have just continued on their way, but seeing Helag traveling alone, they had come back to offer him a ride.
“Since that’s the case, I’ll gladly join you. Thank you, Sir Arnt. My name is Geralt, a wandering exorcist,” Helag introduced himself, using a different alias than the one he had used in Leaf Town.
“An exorcist?” Arnt took a closer look at Helag and indeed sensed a faint exorcist aura.
However, the aura was so faint that Arnt hadn’t noticed it at first.
“This man has remarkable control over his aura,” Arnt thought.
In reality, Helag hadn’t absorbed much demonic aura yet, so his aura wasn’t very noticeable.
But Arnt, sensing Helag’s strength, assumed the faint aura was due to Helag’s excellent control.
Arnt said, “Ah, an exorcist. No wonder you’re traveling alone. I suppose I was being overly cautious.”
Helag smiled. “Not at all, Sir Arnt. Though I am an exorcist, I’m not particularly strong. I appreciate the offer to travel with you.”
Arnt knew Helag was being modest. His instincts told him that Helag was no ordinary man.
Arnt had come back not only to offer Helag a ride but also to assess him.
As the Knight Commander of Greenfield City, Arnt was bold yet cautious, always paying attention to details.
One of the knights brought over an extra horse, and Helag skillfully mounted it, taking the reins and joining the group on their way to Greenfield City.
With the horse, their speed increased significantly, and within two hours, they arrived at Greenfield City.
