Chapter 456: The Lure
When Medel first arrived in this world, he found himself in a dense forest, completely unaware of where he was.
Along the way, he encountered numerous demons, but thanks to his crystallized wizard abilities and various magical tools, he managed to avoid significant danger.
The demons here were unexpectedly strong. What appeared to be ordinary creatures often possessed great power.
Medel also came across some humans, but due to the language barrier, communication was impossible.
This led to several conflicts, and after killing a few people, he fled into the mountains.
Medel had no concrete plan for what to do next. For now, he decided to hide deep in the mountains and wait for an opportunity to understand the situation.
Recently, he discovered a secluded valley inhabited by a creature resembling a horned demon.
For a crystallized wizard like Medel, dealing with magic-based demons was easier than facing physically powerful ones.
He quickly drove the demon away and claimed the valley as his temporary base.
With his third-tier magical array, the “Sanctuary,” Medel felt secure.
The only thing he needed to be cautious about was avoiding detection. However, being deep in the mountains, he didn’t worry too much about being found.
After taking over the valley, Medel stayed inside his sanctuary for several days without venturing out. There had been no disturbances around him.
The powerful demons in the area had their own territories, and after the horned demon left, no other strong creatures appeared.
Only weaker demons roamed nearby, but they didn’t dare approach the valley.
One night, while Medel was sleeping, he heard some noises outside the valley.
He stepped out of the sanctuary and looked toward the valley entrance, where he saw several skeletons approaching.
“That damned horned demon dares to come back? I let you escape last time, but now you’ve returned to die,” Medel muttered, recognizing the skeletons and assuming the horned demon had returned.
During their previous encounter, Medel had noticed the horned demon’s ability to summon a skeleton army.
The demon had fled when it realized it couldn’t defeat him, and Medel hadn’t been able to stop it.
Now that it had returned, Medel wasn’t going to give it another chance to escape.
Gathering his magic, Medel summoned two towering knights, each three meters tall, clad in full armor and wielding long spears.
These knights were powerful summons Medel had acquired through his family’s connections.
Not only were they strong and fast, but they also had excellent defensive capabilities.
Moreover, Medel could share their vision, allowing him to see what they saw.
With a command, the two knights charged toward the approaching skeleton army, their spears cutting through the skeletons with ease.
The skeletons were no match for the knights.
With the skeleton army held off, Medel scanned the area, searching for the horned demon.
He couldn’t see it immediately, so he ventured deeper into the forest to look for it.
In his mind, the demon had to be hiding nearby, as it needed to stay close to control the skeletons.
As Medel moved through the forest, a sudden sense of danger washed over him.
The space around him rippled, and a golden phantom appeared around his body.
A massive fist came crashing toward his head but was blocked by the protective spell, Giant Spirit Guard.
Medel turned and gasped, “Helag!”
He immediately recognized Helag’s towering figure, shocked to see him here.
Without a word, Helag threw another punch at the Giant Spirit Guard.
Helag didn’t believe the protective spell could hold forever.
He had been waiting outside the valley for some time, but Medel had stayed inside the sanctuary, leaving Helag with no way to attack.
The sanctuary, being a third-tier magical array, had defenses too strong for Helag to break through.
So, Helag had the horned demon summon the skeleton army to lure Medel out.
Even when Medel left the valley, Helag had waited patiently, only striking when Medel was far enough from the sanctuary that he couldn’t retreat.
Helag’s punch, carrying immense power, struck the Giant Spirit Guard, sending Medel flying.
Though Medel wasn’t injured, he tumbled to the ground, looking disheveled.
“This time, you won’t have a chance to activate your teleportation ring and escape. I will kill you,” Helag declared.
In an instant, Helag disappeared and reappeared behind Medel, delivering another punch.
Once again, the punch didn’t cause any physical harm, but it sent Medel flying.
However, the Giant Spirit Guard shattered after taking three of Helag’s punches, leaving Medel defenseless.
For the first time, Medel felt true fear. He had never faced a life-or-death situation like this before.
For someone like Medel, all threats had always been dealt with long before they reached him.
Now, staring at Helag, who seemed like a god of death, Medel was terrified.
Panicking, Medel pulled a cross from his spatial ring and hurled it at Helag.
Helag vanished, and the cross fell harmlessly to the ground.
“Is that Blink? No, Blink isn’t that fast,” Medel thought, watching Helag reappear beside him, a sense of impending doom gripping his heart.
Blink required the gathering of magic and the activation of a spell model.
Helag’s spatial teleportation was far too smooth, with no delay or interruption, as natural as a fish swimming in water.
Boom!
Helag’s fist didn’t land on Medel’s head. Instead, a massive knight appeared, blocking the punch.
The knight’s chest caved in instantly, its once-impenetrable armor crushed by the sheer force of Helag’s blow.
The knight, heavily damaged, could no longer lift its spear to strike back.
Helag’s punch had been delivered with the intent to kill Medel, and he hadn’t held back at all.
Sparks of electricity flickered around Helag’s body, the power of his bloodline mark surging through him.
