Chapter 472: The Cyclops
After the humanoid creature smashed the door with a punch, its vertical eye fixated on Helag, seemingly assessing him.
Helag refrained from attacking, and the two stood in a brief standoff.
Moments later, the cyclops lunged at Helag with a swift punch.
Helag raised his left hand, and the Storm Giant Shield expanded, blocking the blow.
Despite the cyclops’s considerable strength, Helag held firm, his hand unwavering.
“What the hell…”
Helag was puzzled by the sudden appearance of this unknown demon, which attacked without warning.
He countered with a punch.
Seeing Helag’s fist, the cyclops’s eye showed a flicker of fear, and it quickly retreated.
“Power Of The Titan!”
As the cyclops withdrew, Helag activated Power Of The Titan, maximizing his combat capabilities.
Uncertain of the enemy’s strength, Helag prioritized full power, unconcerned about being seen.
Recently, his absorption of demonic aura had significantly enhanced his physical attributes, pushing them beyond forty points.
In Titan form, his attributes had previously reached fifty or sixty points, not much higher than his base stats.
Now, Helag checked his status panel: “Strength 75.5, Agility 68.6, Constitution 78.4.”
Power Of The Titan now granted even greater boosts, likely due to his improved base attributes.
Helag’s massive form stood over four meters tall, nearly touching the ceiling.
He eyed the cyclops, which now seemed like a cornered prey.
Helag struck first, using spatial teleportation to appear behind the cyclops, reaching for its head with a giant hand.
The cyclops reacted swiftly, spinning in place, its blade-like legs slashing at Helag’s hand.
Though Helag’s dark gold armor covered him, he avoided direct contact, wary of any special properties the blades might possess, similar to Aed’s black sword.
The cyclops seized the opportunity to roll forward, evading Helag’s grasp.
Rising, its eye glowed, firing a black-purple beam at Helag.
The beam was fast, catching Helag off guard.
In the confined space, the beam traveled too quickly to dodge.
The beam struck Helag’s chest, piercing the dark gold armor and reaching his flesh.
Helag was shocked by the beam’s penetration.
He expected severe injury, but something miraculous occurred.
The beam vanished upon contact with his body.
Helag realized the black membrane within him had absorbed the beam’s energy.
Not only did it nullify the attack, but it also seemed to strengthen the membrane, acting as nourishment.
Helag was baffled, lacking understanding of this world.
But the reason didn’t matter; he knew his membrane rendered him immune to the cyclops’s beam.
However, he couldn’t rule out the possibility that a more powerful beam might overcome the membrane.
The cyclops was equally stunned, seeing Helag unaffected after touching his chest.
Reassured, Helag teleported in front of the cyclops, delivering a swift slap.
The beam had drained the cyclops’s energy, slowing its reactions.
Helag’s slap sent it flying, crashing through the wooden wall into another cabin.
Helag followed, appearing at the landing spot before the cyclops hit the ground, wielding a large blade for a precise vertical slash.
As the cyclops flew toward him, its neck met the blade, severing its head.
Black-purple blood sprayed, filling the cabin with a pungent stench.
Helag stood, his massive form covered in blood, holding the blade.
Moonlight illuminated the scene, casting a shadow over the decapitated demon, its blood pooling at Helag’s feet.
Helag waited, puzzled. “Where’s the demonic aura?”
Most demons in this world released demonic aura upon death, except the weakest.
But this demon was far from weak.
Without his membrane, Helag would have suffered greatly.
The beam wouldn’t have been fatal, but it would have caused severe injury.
Helag was confused by the lack of demonic aura.
He exited through the hole in the wall, surveying the surroundings.
The moon hung high, revealing lush vegetation and forested hills.
“Isn’t it winter?” Helag recalled the snowy night, sipping tea by the fire, yet now the scene had drastically changed.
As he spoke, the scene shifted to a snowy landscape.
Helag raised his hand, watching a snowflake land on his armor.
He surveyed the area, snow falling heavily, the ground blanketed in white, the wind howling, and distant snores from the lodge.
The cabin beside him was intact.
During the fight, the wall should have been destroyed, yet it appeared normal.
Using his environmental scan, Helag saw the others sleeping soundly in their cabins.
He was back.
Realizing this, Helag deactivated Power Of The Titan and changed clothes.
As he finished, Jim burst from his room, rushing to Helag’s cabin, pounding on the door.
“Helag, help! You have to help me, it’s over!” Jim was frantic, though the cause was unclear.
