In the golden month of October, the weather in Kyoto had turned cold, requiring at least two layers of clothing to fend off the chill.

Sweaters provided a comforting warmth, enveloping the wearer in a sense of security.

That night, after Fang Zhou and Qin Yun finished a hot pot dinner, they planned to head home and rest.

However, Qin Yun insisted on taking a walk before going upstairs, so they strolled through the garden below their apartment complex.

Fang Zhou’s heart sank, and he quickly asked, “Does that mean my sister’s symptoms of vomiting, dizziness, and nausea will soon disappear?”

Qin Yun nodded, then shook her head, explaining, “Yes, theoretically, that’s the case. If the rejection isn’t severe, her body will gradually accept the transplanted kidney. But if the symptoms worsen, it will be more challenging.”

Qin Yun didn’t want to keep Fang Zhou in the dark for too long. If his sister experienced severe rejection or worse, he might resent her for not preparing him sooner.

He looked down at his shadow on the ground, struggling to accept the situation.

Seeing his mood improve, Qin Yun decided to bring up the real reason she had invited him for a walk that evening.

“When is it? I need to check my schedule.”

Qin Yun pulled up her phone calendar to show him. “It’s this weekend, three days from now.”

“If I remember correctly, your company has weekends off, right? You won’t turn me down, will you?”

Qin Yun seemed genuinely afraid of rejection, having even checked his days off.

In truth, since they had been together, Fang Zhou rarely refused his girlfriend’s requests.

He was accommodating, willing to accept her plans and arrangements as long as they didn’t cross any boundaries.

Fang Zhou chuckled, covering her phone with his hand, and gently brushed her cheek. “You’ve got me all figured out. How could I not go?”

Realizing she had been tricked, Qin Yun playfully tapped Fang Zhou’s arm and pouted, “Hmph! I thought you weren’t going.”

Only heaven knew how anxious she felt when Fang Zhou mentioned working overtime.

It meant her plans would have to be rescheduled.

Fang Zhou laughed heartily, pulling Qin Yun into his arms and whispering in her ear, “How could I disobey Dr. Qin’s orders?”

Qin Yun hugged him back and whispered in his ear, “Fang Zhou, having you makes me truly happy.”

There was one more thing she didn’t say.
