The Command to Pamper the Husband - Chapter 195
At this moment, the voice from the crowd rang out again.
“They’re stalling for time! Hurry, kill them, kill them!”
The townsfolk, who had been somewhat panicked due to their companion falling, suddenly looked like puppets with controlled souls. Their eyes were dull and vicious, glaring at them as if they had committed unforgivable crimes.
“Kill!”
“Kill!”
“Kill!”
They surrounded Song Jin and the Crown Prince, chanting in unison, their deep voices like demons rising from the ground.
“Do you dare to harm innocent people?” The Crown Prince whispered to Song Jin, his expression serious.
Song Jin scoffed, “Are these really innocent people?”
The Crown Prince let out a laugh.
Just as the Crown Prince was about to leap into the air, Song Jin suddenly pulled him back.
“Your Highness, as long as I’m here, you shouldn’t have to dirty your hands.”
A smile warmed the Crown Prince’s eyes as he looked at Song Jin.
Song Jin narrowed her eyes, staring at the encroaching townsfolk. The weapons that had fallen to the ground flew up under her control, forming a protective circle with the blades facing outwards around her and the Crown Prince.
The dazed townsfolk didn’t stop their advance. As the circle of weapons expanded, some were inevitably cut by the sharp blades, jolting them out of their stupor with screams of agony. However, those not injured continued to press forward.
When the circle had expanded sufficiently, Song Jin suddenly reversed the blades, sending the weapons flying outwards with great speed and force.
“Ah~”
Screams erupted as the attacking townsfolk fell, severely injured but not killed, losing their ability to fight.
As the townsfolk collapsed, archers appeared behind them, aiming their sharp arrows at Song Jin and the Crown Prince.
The Crown Prince chuckled softly in Song Jin’s ear, “It looks like you’ll have to work hard today.”
Song Jin snorted, “Just remember to repay my kindness.”
As she spoke, the archers released their arrows. Song Jin used her spiritual power again, causing the arrows to reverse course just before reaching them. The archers had anticipated this, raising their shields to block the arrows.
Song Jin coldly snorted. The shields then flew up, and the returning arrows pierced through the archers’ bodies, followed by screams.
However, the enemy had prepared thoroughly. As the archers fell, dozens of black-clad men appeared, charging forward with bare fists, no weapons in hand.
“Great~” Song Jin growled.
The Crown Prince’s tone remained unchanged, “It seems the mastermind behind this knows you well. They sent unarmed men to prevent you from using your powers.”
Although Song Jin didn’t know martial arts, she was no weakling. Her moves were lethal, honed through years of practice.
Yet, it seemed she wouldn’t need to display her skills. Neither did the Crown Prince.
The Heavenly Hound, always by Song Jin’s side, leapt into action as the black-clad men appeared, eyes gleaming with excitement. Like lightning, it tore through the enemy, killing anyone it bit or clawed.
The Crown Prince imagined how his assassins in Yuzhou must have met their ends. Watching the scene unfold, he felt grateful that he and Jin’er were not enemies.
“Jin’er, I’ll always be loyal to you from now on.”
Song Jin wondered how he had the time to say such things in the midst of this chaos.
Despite the Heavenly Hound’s prowess, Song Jin and the Crown Prince didn’t rely solely on it. In less than the time it took for an incense stick to burn, they had killed all the black-clad men.
Song Jin asked the Crown Prince if they should leave someone alive. The Crown Prince replied it wasn’t necessary.
Then, he dragged out a man dressed as a villager from the blood-soaked ground. Although he wore villager’s clothes, his delicate features were not those of a commoner.
As the Crown Prince lifted him like a chick, the man struggled but was knocked unconscious by a swipe from the Heavenly Hound.
“You humans are so troublesome. Being straightforward is so much easier.”
The Crown Prince’s men quickly gathered the villagers into a courtyard and found the chief village who had led them there.
Once everything was done, they returned to the perimeter, keeping watch.
The Crown Prince personally brought a chair for Song Jin to sit on and then turned to the chief village, “Speak up, will you confess on your own, or do I have to force it out of you?”
The chief village, unsurprised by the Crown Prince’s self-reference, sneered, “Kill me if you want. Do as you please.”
The Crown Prince smiled coldly, “Not afraid, are you?”
He signaled his attendant, who promptly stepped forward and stabbed the chief village in the abdomen.
The chief village was shocked. He thought he would at least have a chance to be tortured before dying.
Staring wide-eyed, the chief village slowly fell, his gaze fixed on the Crown Prince.
The Crown Prince smirked, “Speak now and you might live. Wait until I get it from him, and you won’t have a chance.”
He signaled, and the man he had pulled from the crowd was thrown in front of the chief village, bound and gagged.
Seeing this man, the chief village’s shock deepened.
The Crown Prince noted the change in his expression. “Decide for yourself. I won’t rush you, but you don’t have much time. I’ll count to three.”
“I’ll talk.”
Before the Crown Prince could start counting, the chief village spoke.
The Crown Prince nodded slightly, and his attendant bandaged the chief village’s wound and gave him a pill.
“I can let you live, but depending on what you say, I can also ensure you die.”
Song Jin was surprised by the Crown Prince’s straightforward method of interrogation. She had expected something more like the torture scenes she had seen on TV.
