Heavenly Master is Here
As Mu Man’er was about to have her slender leg severed by Situ Pei’s vicious strike, the colorful gourd at her waist suddenly slipped free and collided with Situ Pei’s green blade, causing a loud crash.
The green blade, Situ Pei’s life-bound spiritual tool, trembled violently, nearly slipping from his grasp.
Mu Man’er had been multitasking, fending off the barrage of sharp rose petals while controlling the Diamond Spirit Gourd at her waist to deliver a heavy blow to Situ Pei.
Watching from the sidelines, Qin Gou stood with his hands behind his back, his expression calm and unperturbed.
In truth, Mu Man’er’s greatest weakness was her lack of combat experience, making it difficult for her to accurately assess her true strength.
Her senior brothers and sisters had all challenged and defeated higher-level opponents in their youth, earning the Demon Seed Pavilion’s disciples a reputation for extraordinary talent.
With Mu Man’er’s real abilities, there was no need to worry about facing an old Grinding Long Realm cultivator with no hope of further advancement. The key was her mindset. Qin Gou lent her the Astonishing Immortal Sword not for its power—she wasn’t yet capable of unleashing its full potential—but to instill a sense of ceremony and confidence, ensuring she faced her opponent with the right attitude.
Countless blades surged toward Situ Pei like a river. Mu Man’er’s slender body twisted and turned as she leaped into the air, bringing the Astonishing Immortal Sword down on Situ Pei’s head.
“Situ Pei, come and meet your end.”
“You sharp-tongued brat!” Situ Pei swung his green blade wildly, summoning countless razor-sharp rose petals that filled the air with a fragrant storm, each petal a lethal threat.
The two were locked in a fierce battle.
Mu Man’er’s parents clung to each other, their eyes filled with concern for their precious daughter.
Unspoken was the thought that the Situ family members were likely restrained by the presence of the Heavenly Master, preventing them from resorting to their usual underhanded tactics during “Dueling.”
Suddenly, the myriad sharp petals controlled by Situ Pei coalesced into a giant man-eating flower, its massive petals blocking all of Mu Man’er’s escape routes.
Situ Pei’s eyes gleamed with malice as he laughed, “At least leave half your body behind, disciple of the Demon Master!”
“Alright, as you wish.” Mu Man’er playfully stuck out her tongue, her body shrinking to reveal her true form as a lively little girl, allowing her to easily evade most of the attack. Her Astonishing Immortal Sword slashed across Situ Pei’s chest, sending blood spraying.
Situ Pei was sent flying, staggering to regain his footing, a deep, bone-revealing sword wound across his chest.
“You despicable little… brat,” Situ Pei growled through gritted teeth, his voice seething with hatred.
Mu Man’er chuckled, “To defeat a despicable opponent, you must be even more despicable.”
Qin Gou’s face twitched. Where had this girl learned such nonsense? It’s one thing to do it, but why say it out loud? Still, her fighting style did reflect his teachings—doing the right thing isn’t despicable; it’s called strategy, foresight, and anticipating the enemy!
“This ‘Dueling’ match is decided,” Qin Gou said calmly, glancing at Situ Pei. “But if you wish to continue, I won’t stop you.”
Meeting Qin Gou’s gaze, Situ Pei quickly looked away, clutching his chest wound. “I concede this round,” he said. The older he got, the more he valued his life. Continuing to fight with such a severe injury, even if victorious, would likely be his end.
“Ancestor!”
The Situ family members were filled with despair.
Situ Pei instructed a family member to retrieve a spatial ring, wrapped in spiritual energy, and present it to Qin Gou.
Qin Gou tossed the ring to Mu Man’er’s parents, who examined it with joy before bowing deeply.
“Thank you, Heavenly Master.”
Seeing her parents’ happiness, Mu Man’er also knelt before Qin Gou, her eyes red and voice choked with emotion. “Thank you, Master.”
Qin Gou quickly used his spiritual energy to lift the three of them. He felt he hadn’t done much to help, but as he calculated the remaining time of the *Demon Master Is Here* talisman, a plan formed in his mind, and he smiled.
Suddenly, the sky over Gu Yue City darkened.
A giant, white figure with feathered arms appeared, towering over the city, its oppressive aura sending waves of fear through every cultivator’s heart.
“What is that…”
“An avatar!”
“An avatar in little Gu Yue City!”
“Oh heavens, what could have provoked such a powerful being to summon an avatar? Is he going to erase Gu Yue City?”
“Run!”
The Situ family stared at the terrifying apparition behind Qin Gou, falling to their knees in terror. “Demon Master, please, no! I’ve kept my promise; there’s no need for such measures!”
Qin Gou amplified his voice with spiritual energy, spreading it across most of Gu Yue City.
“To all wrongdoers: I, Qin Gou, Master of Arc Moon Mountain, command you to leave Gu Yue City within half an hour and never return! If you have any objections, I await you outside the Situ mansion!”
The hidden villains in Gu Yue City were thrown into chaos.
“What?”
“Master of Arc Moon Mountain? Who is this mighty figure?”
“Idiot! You don’t know Demon Master Qin Gou? You must have just become a cultivator!”
“The mentor of the Purple Extreme Demon Lord and the Rakshasa Palace Mistress! A true master of the demonic path!”
“But isn’t he a demon himself? Why toy with us?”
“Fool, don’t you get it? The Demon Master has claimed Gu Yue City as his territory! We’re nothing! Pack up and leave. This peaceful city will soon become a demonic lair under his control!”
…
“Cough, cough. Brother Li, this avatar just wants to drive out the city’s villains. We’re innocent; no need to panic.”
“Well, I did pinch Junior Brother’s butt the other day. Does that make me a villain?”
“Run!”
…
Situ Pei, overwhelmed with anger, spat blood, his face pale. He turned to his family, shouting, “Notify the entire Situ clan—we’re leaving!”
Qin Gou remained where he stood, a slight smile on his lips. The system’s emotionless voice echoed in his ears like a rapid-fire announcement.
“Congratulations, Host, for successfully scaring ‘Tiger Mountain Chief’ Zhao Zheng. Reward: 5 merit points. Congratulations, Host, for frightening ‘Viper Fairy’ Shan Zhiwei. Reward: 10 merit points. Congratulations, Host, for scaring ‘Evil Wind Ghost’ Zou Meishi to death. Reward: 20 merit points…”
