You’re a Girl Too
“Are you confident? That Rebirth Tower seems like a useless decoration to me,” Chi Yuchao said, clearly skeptical.
Qin Gou smiled, his confidence unwavering. “Well, I’m at least skilled enough to blow up that ‘decoration.’”
“I’ll believe it when I see it,” Chi Yuchao replied, still unconvinced. “But don’t rush into it. Now that you know the challenges, you should prepare. And don’t forget—you promised to help me with my disguise.”
“Fair enough,” Qin Gou nodded. His eyes gleamed with a hint of mischief. “Before heading to the Rebirth Tower, there are a few things I need to figure out.”
—
A stick of incense later, Qin Gou had completed Chi Yuchao’s disguise.
Though his disguise skills weren’t top-notch, he managed to add a scruffy beard, adjust Chi Yuchao’s height, and alter his hairstyle and facial features. The result was enough to ensure no one would recognize Chi Yuchao’s feminine appearance.
Chi Yuchao examined himself in the mirror, nodding in satisfaction. Suddenly, he grabbed his chest and asked, “Brother Qin, what about these?”
Qin Gou’s face froze in embarrassment. “Be careful with that. It’s still your sister’s body… Show some respect.”
“Careful?!” Chi Yuchao exclaimed, nearly in tears. “Do you know how many times I’ve wanted to bash my head against the wall every time I go to the bathroom?”
Qin Gou waved him off, laughing awkwardly. “Figure it out yourself. Wrap it up with some cloth or something. I’m not helping with that.”
—
After leaving Chi Yuchao’s cave, Qin Gou silently commanded, “System, scan the shop for any items similar to the ‘Demon Master’s Presence’ talisman. But I want something subtler—something that intimidates without being obvious, ideally targeting a single person.”
“Ding. The ‘Heavenly Master’s Presence’ talisman is available for 1,000 merit points. Its effects are similar to the ‘Demon Master’s Presence’ talisman but limited to a five-meter radius around the host, lasting one hour.”
“That expensive?” Qin Gou muttered, gritting his teeth. “Why does the ‘Demon Master’s Presence’ talisman have such a stronger effect? How much does that one cost?”
“Ding. The ‘Demon Master’s Presence’ talisman can only be obtained through missions or the lottery. It is not available for purchase.”
“Why?”
“What the hell?” Qin Gou was stunned. Since when did the system start arguing back?
—
That night.
Qin Gou placed an alchemy book, The Green Satchel, back into his spatial ring. He had only been flipping through it to refresh his extensive knowledge—no need to study too hard.
Looking out the window at the bright moon hanging in the night sky, Qin Gou decided it was time. He transformed into Wu Qi’s appearance and stepped out of his room.
—
Unfortunately, he immediately ran into Chen Keshua.
“Who are you?” Chen Keshua demanded, his face serious and a bit nervous. “Brother Qin! Someone’s trespassing in our cave!”
Qin Gou rolled his eyes and reverted his face to his male appearance. “Relax, it’s me.” He tapped the sword at his waist for emphasis.
“What?!” Chen Keshua fell backward in shock, his entire body trembling. “So it’s not just Brother Chi Yu—you’re a girl too! And you’re pretty!”
“Shut up! What’s wrong with your imagination?!” Qin Gou snapped, his face twisting in frustration.
—
Leaving the cave, Qin Gou noticed that the valley’s exit was indeed heavily guarded by Mystic Maiden Palace disciples. Male outsiders like him were strictly forbidden from leaving at night. The only reason he had been allowed out the previous night was because Gu Caihe had personally summoned him.
—
Approaching the guards, Qin Gou, still disguised as Wu Qi, was immediately recognized.
“Wu Qi? What are you doing here so late?” one of the female disciples asked, surprised.
Qin Gou chuckled. “Why do you think I’m here? Isn’t it obvious?”
“You didn’t… mess with those male disciples, did you? Wu Qi, you’re so bold! But the Palace Master forbade us from doing such things. If she finds out, what will happen?” The guards looked genuinely alarmed.
“You’ve misunderstood,” Qin Gou said casually. “The Palace Master forbade us from forcibly draining them. But if it’s consensual, why would she care?”
The guards exchanged glances, their expressions shifting to admiration. “Wu Qi, you’re so clever. We’re impressed!”
“Just common sense,” Qin Gou said, waving it off. Suddenly, he slapped his forehead in mock panic. “Oh no! Sister Caihe asked me to deliver something to Sister Chengying, but I got distracted and forgot. It’s so late now, and I haven’t been to her place in ages. I’ll definitely be punished!”
“Then what are you waiting for? Go!” one of the guards said. “Do you need me to guide you?”
“I couldn’t trouble you like that,” Qin Gou said, feigning gratitude.
The guard smiled. “We’re all sisters here. Helping each other is what we do. Besides, there are plenty of us here to keep watch. Those outsiders wouldn’t dare cause trouble.”
—
Thanks to the guard’s help, Qin Gou soon arrived at Yi Chengying’s cave.
“Thank you, Sister,” Qin Gou said, bowing politely.
“It’s nothing,” the guard replied with a smile.
—
In an instant, Qin Gou struck her neck with a sharp chop.
“Wu Qi, what are you doing?” the guard asked, confused. She touched her neck, where a stony pattern began to spread.
Her question was answered by a fist flying toward her face.
Thud.
The guard collapsed.
Qin Gou sighed, hoisting her onto his shoulder. “Sorry, Sister. You were so kind to help me, but if you ran into the real Wu Qi on the way back, things could get messy.”
