Chapter 3 PT1 – Taking In the Masked Man
Qin Sen’s voice rang out from outside the door: “Are you sure the person is coming this way?”
“Well, that dark shadow walked here and disappeared in the blink of an eye.”
“Search all the servants’ rooms around here!”
“Yes.”

Of the many bodyguards, one quickly found Su Nuo’s room, knocked on the door but no one answered. Just as he was about to break in, the door creaked open from the inside and half a head popped out.
“What’s wrong?”
Qin Sen stood among the bodyguards, his hat brim pulled low, casting a large shadow on his nose. His face was sinister and cold. He stared at Su Nuo: “Why did you take so long to open the door?”
Su Nuo revealed the towel wrapped around him and said, “I was taking a shower just now and didn’t hear the knock on the door.”
Qin Sen’s gaze shifted to his head. His black hair was damp and softly stuck to his back. His fair face seemed to have a blush from the heat. The mist from his blinking eyelashes gathered into water droplets and fell from the corners of his eyes.
There was still a dripping sound in the bathroom, probably because the showerhead was not turned off yet.
Qin Sen unconsciously tightened his grip on the pistol at his waist: “Did you see anyone suspicious?”
“No.”
“We’re going to go in and search for it.”
Su Nuo nodded and turned sideways to make way when there was a bang and a shattering sound at the other end of the corridor, followed by a dark shadow flashing past the stairs.
The bodyguard immediately shouted, “Mr. Qin, the person is here!”
Qin Sen pulled out his pistol and turned to chase after him downstairs.
“Chase!”
After the group walked away, Su Nuo closed the door. Behind the door, a tall figure was pointing a gun at him.
Su Nuo raised his hands and made a gesture of cooperation: “They’ve gone away.”
The masked man said nothing, but took Su Nuo to the window, lifted the curtain and looked out.
Qin Sen and the bodyguards chased the “figure” downstairs. The masked man clicked the instrument on his wrist, and the “figure” rushed straight into the training ground in front. The speed was so fast that it was almost ghostly, and disappeared into the darkness in a blink of an eye.
Su Nuo smacked his lips and wondered what kind of advanced technology it was. Was it a holographic projection?
It looked much more advanced than the holographic projection he had just opened.
That “human figure” could almost realistically simulate the form and movements of an ordinary person running away, even the sound.
Downstairs, the bodyguards failed to catch anyone. Qin Sen had a sullen face and said something. After a while, a huge “barrier” made of red light appeared in the air.
The densely packed diamond-shaped grids enveloped the entire Yuan Palace like a cage. Some nocturnal birds with poor eyesight bumped into the “barrier” and turned into black smoke and dissipated on the spot.
The masked man stared at the red light, his aura heavy.
Su Nuo explained, “This is a red light detector. It’s the highest level of security in the Yuan Palace. Anyone who forces their way out will end up like that bird.”
As he spoke, Su Nuo glanced at the other person. The other person was very careful, his hair, ears, and even his body shape were all disguised.
In addition, he wore a black metal mask on his face.
Si Nuo was very familiar with this mask, it was the mask of the Hydra organization.
Judging from the time, the Hydra Organization should have just been established not long ago at this point in time. It was just an “errand running” organization active in the black market, claiming that it could help people do anything, from catching thieves to going into space to catch star beasts.
It was only about two or three years later that Hydra was discovered to be engaging in rebellious activities and was defined as a rebel organization by Yuan Palace.
In his previous life, Su Nuo had dealt with Hydra. He heard that there was a substance on the planet Areli that could stimulate the brains of vegetative patients and help them regain consciousness. At that time, the Yuan family had given up on treating Yuan Jianyi, so he had decided to find a way for himself. As a result, he went to Hydra.
He had no money, so Hydra gave him a map of Arelia, marked the target location, and let him go on his own. As a result, he encountered Zerg while searching for materials on Arelia. He thought he was going to die there, but was saved in time by the leader of Hydra.
He was injured and unconscious at that time, and when he woke up, he had already returned to the empire.
He hadn’t had the chance to thank the leader of Hydra in person.
Recovering his wandering thoughts, Su Nuo looked at the masked man beside him. What was this man trying to do by breaking into the Yuan Palace?
Assassinate the Star Lord?
Did Hydra have the intention to rebel so early?
Su Nuo thought for a moment and said, “You can hide here with me first. In a few days, a group of medical personnel will come to examine Master Yi. You can then blend in and leave.”
The other party seemed to not believe what Su Nuo said, and pointed the gun at Su Nuo’s eyebrows: “Why are you helping me?”
“I’ll help you on some conditions.”
“What conditions?”
“I want to ask you to do two things for me.” Su Nuo opened a drawer and handed a rough sketch to the masked man. “The first thing is to help me find a bracelet similar to this sketch.”
The man glanced at the drawing and said nothing.
Su Nuo was afraid he wouldn’t agree, so he continued, “I’m responsible for taking care of Young Master Yi, so I have legitimate access to the medical staff. Only with my help can you successfully infiltrate and leave the Yuan Palace. Without my help, I’m afraid you wouldn’t even be able to pass the search.”
“Why should I believe you?”
“You don’t have to believe me, but if I wanted you dead, I could have just said nothing and done nothing. Why would I have gone through the trouble of lying to you?”
The masked man remained silent. The muzzle of the gun slid down the bridge of Su Nuo’s nose and pressed against his chin.
Su Nuo was forced to look up and meet the other person’s eyes.
The pupils under the metal mask were dark and deep, staring at Su Nuo closely, as if judging whether what he said was true or false.
After a long moment, the masked man retracted the laser gun and asked, “What’s the second condition?”
Knowing that the man had agreed to the deal, Su Nuo was immediately happy, but his expression did not change.
“The second condition is that I want Lu Yu’s star account.”
He originally only wanted to negotiate one condition with the masked man, but when he opened his mouth he decided to raise the price and added another condition.
He wanted to be more proactive in this life.
He didn’t want to wait for the timeline to arrive step by step.
The masked man seemed to have not expected such a condition. Upon hearing this, his expression was a little strange. Then he thought of the things he had seen in the room before. He seemed to understand something. His eyes became slightly uncomfortable and he adjusted the mask on his face.
“First, the rough sketch is too simple, and I’m not sure if I can actually find the real thing. Second, even if I give you Lu Yu’s computer account, there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to contact him.”
“Don’t worry about these. Just do your best and leave the rest to me.”
Seeing Su Nuo’s confident look, the masked man paused and said nothing.
The beta is young, but he had a lot on his mind.
What did he want to do with Lu Yu’s account?
Pursue Lu Yu?
Thinking of this, the masked man looked at Su Nuo without any expression.
That night was a safe and peaceful one.
No one was caught, Yuan Palace’s red photoelectric device was kept on, and the masked man had no choice but to hide in Su Nuo’s room.

Noon.
After taking care of Yuan Jianyi, Su Nuo specially asked for a red date cake from the kitchen. Fearing that the masked man would be hungry, he brought it back for him to eat.
As he reached the door, he was stopped.
It was an alpha named Zhao Ming.
Su Nuo remembered Zhao Ming. In his previous life, Zhao Ming liked Shen Miao and harassed him often.
Zhao Ming flexed his knuckles and reached out to nudge Su Nuo’s shoulder: “You like Miao Miao too, right?”
Su Nuo was caught off guard and stepped back. Seeing Zhao Ming reaching out again, he grabbed Zhao Ming’s wrist and blocked his push. Zhao Ming snorted sarcastically: “Wow, you’re quite strong. It’s a pity that you’re just a beta after all.”
Zhao Ming swung his fist again, but Su Nuo suddenly dodged to the side. The brute force of Zhao Ming’s fist hit the wall directly, and his face was distorted with pain.
“How dare you hide! Are you courting death?”
Zhao Ming was so angry that he grabbed Su Nuo’s collar, and his two followers immediately came forward and threatened him.
“Hey, Su Nuo, don’t you dare keep this up! Stay away from Shen Miao from now on!”
“Yes, if you dare to pretend to be sick and snuggle in Shen Miao’s arms again, don’t blame us for not letting you off easily.”
Pretending to be sick?
Su Nuo thought hard and finally realized that the “faking illness” they were talking about was referring to the time he leaned on Shen Miao in the torture chamber. He had been leaning on Shen Miao because he had suddenly been reborn and felt unwell. He hadn’t expected Zhao Ming and the others to be so imaginative.
Seeing that Su Nuo was silent, Zhao Ming felt that his words were being ignored. He gritted his teeth and roared, “You don’t understand what I’m saying, do you? I think you deserve to be punished! Perfect, today I’ll make an example of you and see who dares to snatch people from me, Zhao Ming, in the future!”
As he spoke, Zhao Ming tensed his arm muscles and lifted Su Nuo up like a chick.
Su Nuo was just about to raise his leg to kick Zhao Ming in the middle when Shen Miao’s voice rang out.
“Zhao Ming, what are you doing?!”
Shen Miao rushed over in no time and separated the two of them. With one hand, he pulled Su Nuo behind him to protect him, and with the other hand, he slapped Zhao Ming twice in the face.
Pa! Pa!
The sound of the slaps echoed in the corridor.
Su Nuo: “…”
Fearing that Zhao Ming would get angry, Su Nuo wanted to stand up to protect Shen Miao, but was pushed back by Shen Miao.
Zhao Ming, who was slapped in the face, was not angry at all. Instead, he covered half of his face, his face turned strangely red, and he smiled foolishly at Miaomiao.
“Miao Miao, hehe…”
Su Nuo: “…”
“Zhao Ming! I think you’re crazy! Who told you to bully Nuo Nuo?”
“It’s a misunderstanding, it’s a misunderstanding, Miaomiao, I didn’t bully Su Nuo, I was just… just… joking with him, hehe…” Zhao Ming grinned and smiled apologetically, without any trace of the vicious look he had just now.
The change of expression was so fast that Su Nuo was speechless. Even Zhao Ming’s two followers were stunned and looked at their boss in disbelief.
“Misunderstanding? I just heard you say that you were going to punish Nuo Nuo! Who did you say you wanted to punish?”
“I was just saying that for fun… No, I was just talking for fun…” Zhao Ming explained incoherently. Ever since Shen Miao appeared, the corners of his mouth had not fallen. He looked up at Su Nuo and winked, “Su Nuo, tell Miao Miao that we were joking.”
Su Nuo hadn’t expected himself to be at the top of the food chain. He tugged at the corner of Shen Miao’s clothes and said, “Miao Miao, you misunderstood. Zhao Ming was just joking with me. He didn’t say I was looking for death, nor did he say I deserved to be punished.”
Zhao Ming: “…”
“Good for you, Zhao Ming!”
