- Chapter 141 - Looking Down on Ciel (2/2)
“Although I did indeed use the name of the Roswell family and initial funds, every penny I spend is earned by myself,”
Avena realized she hadn’t told Ciel these things and explained, “The largest shares of the companies, mines, and factories are in my hands.”
“Then you are super rich now?” Ciel asked with some surprise. She had always thought Avena was spending money given by the family, around one or two thousand pounds a month, but now it seems Avena is apparently even more wealthy than she had imagined.
“If you ask me to directly take out over ten thousand to help you buy a peerage, it is indeed possible.”
Avena shook her head and said, “But doing so, the company would go bankrupt.”
“What I do are just small businesses. The real big businesses are in Ansu and the Ocean Company’s hands.”
“I see…”
Ciel nodded and had a judgment of Avena’s approximate wealth.
Her assets are definitely starting from twenty to thirty thousand pounds, but the actual funds that can be directly taken out are estimated not to exceed seven thousand pounds. Any more and the cash flow might not be able to keep moving.
Avena looked at Ciel’s thoughtful expression and asked, “Are you short on money?”
“Me? I’m not short. The organization pays me.” Ciel shook her head.
Even for the “Musician” potion, Ciel wouldn’t go to Avena for money unless absolutely necessary. After all, she had too many ways to obtain potions. It doesn’t have to be with money.
She could even have Tara rally cultists in the simulation to rush Ansu Royal City, and then she could take advantage of the chaos to get a bottle of “Musician” potion and its Reconstitution Ritual, and then just kill herself. That would be fine. But that feels a bit like using an anti-aircraft gun to shoot a mosquito.
“Have you reported that you are safe?” Avena looked at Ciel and asked, “You seem to have a lot of free time.”
“Yes.” Ciel nodded, raised her hand and rubbed her belly, saying, “I’m stuffed from eating snacks and desserts.”
“Then I’ll pick out an outfit for you?” Avena’s gaze shifted very naturally from Ciel’s face towards the bookshelf. She seemed to have drifted off and was looking at the book titles.
“Okay.”
“To my room.” After hearing Ciel’s reply, Avena turned around directly and walked towards the door. Ciel also followed. They walked out of the study one after the other.
Just after leaving the study, she saw a young girl with a golden curly ponytail, standing in the gallery admiring paintings. After hearing the sound of the two coming out, the girl lowered her head slightly in surprise and greeted them.
“Good afternoon, Lady Avena, and this beautiful young lady.”
“Good afternoon, Isabella.” Avena also nodded slightly and greeted the girl.
Ciel, who was passing by, also lightly nodded, mimicking Avena, and said with a smile, “Good afternoon.”
Soon, Avena led Ciel past the young girl with the single ponytail and walked directly upstairs, while the girl who stayed behind watched their backs. She slightly nodded, deep in thought.
Just as I thought… That red-haired girl’s identity is not simple.
It’s hard to find a breakthrough with Avena to build a good relationship, but the girl next to her seems a little more innocent. Perhaps I can start with her…
While Isabella was still deep in thought, Ciel had already followed Avena back to her room. After turning around and closing the door, Avena led Ciel directly towards the dressing room.
Opening the dressing room door, the space inside was twice as large as the living room of the house Ciel rented. The clothes hanging inside were dazzling. There were special maids for maintenance.
There were even two special glass cabinets for storing all kinds of jewelry. The various colored gems inside glittered under the light, instantly captivated Ciel’s eyes.
After noticing Ciel’s gaze, Avena said, “The raw materials for these jewels are basically free, only the processing fee is relatively expensive. Whichever you like, you can choose directly.”
“No… I’m just looking…” Ciel withdrew her gaze.
In her eyes, those sparkling things were not jewelry, but piles of pounds stacked together.
Avena walked to one of the closets, took out a new slip from inside, handed it to Ciel, and said, “Take off your clothes, I’ll help you put together an outfit.”
Avena had seen her naked body many times before, and Ciel didn’t feel any shyness either. After hearing Avena’s words, she consciously took off all her clothes and put on the new slip.
At this moment, Avena, who was picking and choosing at the closet, hearing the rustling sound of Ciel changing clothes, was forcefully resisting the urge to turn her head, but her hands had started to tremble a little.
Her heart was in turmoil.
Previously, Avena had changed clothes for the unconscious Ciel. But back then, Avena was more “gentlemanly,” avoiding looking if possible, just normally helping Ciel change clothes.
Moreover, the unconscious Ciel, even completely naked, didn’t evoke any special feeling in Avena’s heart. But with Ciel awake, Avena found it a bit hard to control her gaze, even when Ciel was dressed.
Seemingly to alleviate her gradually accelerating heartbeat, Avena asked casually, “What color do you like?”
“Black, I guess.” Ciel tugged at her slip and replied.
It’s not like she really liked black. It’s mainly because she thought this color was more low-key. It should suit her better.
Black, huh… It’s the color of my hair…
Avena couldn’t help but think wildly. She closed the closet before her and opened another closet full of black evening gowns. From the dazzling array of clothes, she picked out a relatively simple one.
This was a style with a white pleated shirt and a black puffy skirt. The neckline and sleeves were adorned with fluffy lace frills, and paired with a black short cape to break up the overall color a bit more. It was considered a relatively popular style recently.
Ciel seemed not to like fancy decorations and lace. This one should be more suitable as an evening gown. Just add some accessories…
But… when did I buy this dress? Why don’t I remember?
Avena handed the outfit in her hand to Ciel and said, “Try this one on.”
After handing the clothes to Ciel, Avena circled around Ciel, walked to the jewelry cabinet, and began picking accessories for Ciel.
After she finished choosing a ruby pendant to match Ciel’s red hair, she looked back. Ciel had already changed into the new clothes and was standing in place, raising her hand and tugging at the frills of the sleeves. She seemed a little unused to it.
“This dress is too light… It feels too thin.” The light dress rubbing against the silk slip made Ciel a little uncomfortable. She was used to wearing rough and heavy clothes before and always felt unused to clothes like this.
She felt that if a fight broke out, it would rip open with just a couple of tugs. Very impractical.
“There will also be a cape…”
“Don’t move around.” Avena was now standing in front of Ciel, holding the pendant.
Hearing Avena’s words, Ciel also lowered her hands and stood obediently in place, acting as a “dress-up doll.”
Avena unclasped the pendant, holding both ends of the chain in her hands. She used the back of her hand to brush all of Ciel’s long hair behind her, and wrapped her hands around Ciel’s neck.
“You… how much height do these boots add?” Ciel slowly looked up at the tip of Avena’s nose and couldn’t help but complain slightly.
She hadn’t felt Avena was so much taller than her before. Wasn’t she just a little bit taller?
After hearing Ciel’s words, Avena unconsciously lowered her head. Their noses touched. They could feel each other’s breath.
This action made both of them freeze for almost three or four seconds, until Avena felt Ciel’s hands slowly wrap around her slender waist. Avena then took a deep breath, slowly turned her face, and lowered her head.
The pendant had already slipped from Avena’s hands, hanging on the lace in front of Ciel. This sense of looking down from above and taking the initiative made Avena feel an unprecedented pleasure. Just as she was hooking Ciel’s neck with one hand and trying to press the back of Ciel’s head with the other, she felt herself being gently pushed.
Avena, whose strength was originally no match for Ciel’s, instantly retreated step by step. She lost her footing and almost fell backward.
But Ciel’s strong hand steadily supported Avena’s waist and gently lowered her, making Avena sit on the chair behind her.
In an instant, the situation was completely reversed. The one looking down from above was now Ciel.
A feeling of frustration enveloped Avena. She seemed as if she wanted to counterattack, and she slightly opened her mouth, about to bite Ciel’s lips, but this action instead left her completely defeated.

TL quality has dropped so low.
the author is going all out with their relationship now that things are calmer huh, not complaining tho
I think her assets is way more than 20k. Otherwise she wouldn’t be treating 700 potions like nothing. Her assets likely exceed 100k but just has less than 10k in cash because most money goes into reinvesting cash flow.
