- Chapter 180 - What Should Mother Goddess's Husband Be Called? (3/5)
Around five o’clock, Avena returned to the manor.
This negotiation seemed to have made some progress. Avena’s reasoned arguments had yielded some results.
However, she had barely eaten anything all day except for a little breakfast.
After instructing the chef to prepare dinner, Avena didn’t go upstairs directly. Instead, she went to the dining room, sat down, and casually asked the personal maid beside her.
“Has Ciel returned?” Avena asked.
“Miss Ciel has returned. Would you like me to ask her if she would like to have dinner?”
The maid hesitated for a moment, then slightly bowed and added in a low voice, “Miss Ciel seems to have brought back a little maid. She’s quite cute…”
“Hmm?”
Avena blinked, even suspecting she had misheard. But her face remained expressionless. She just asked, “Oh, where are they?”
“In the study. They’ve been there for about three or four hours.” The maid replied.
“Mm.”
Avena responded. But somehow, she instantly felt less hungry.
She stood up directly and said, “No need. I’ll call her myself.”
After saying that, she left the maids and Nia, who were looking at each other, and walked towards the stairs—her steps seemed to have quickened considerably.
Nia, unusually, showed a little curiosity, but she still controlled her steps and didn’t follow.
A good official cannot judge a family dispute. Following her wouldn’t solve anything.
She and Avena both knew that Ciel had picked up a little girl. After all, the nurses from Adele’s side were all assigned by Avena, so information was naturally well-circulated.
But she didn’t expect that Ciel would quietly bring back that refugee child. Looking at Young Mistress Avena’s reaction, it seemed she hadn’t discussed it with her.
Nia shook her head and sighed. She could almost already imagine Ciel’s body gaining a few more injuries…
Inside the study at this moment, Ciel was quickly flipping through a book. Several books were already piled up in front of her.
And Tara, on the other hand, was holding a small fan, gently fanning Ciel. She looked at Ciel, who was flipping through the book, with some admiration.
As expected of Mother Goddess, such a fast reading speed… I’m standing behind her and haven’t even finished reading the first two sections, and Mother Goddess has already turned to the next page.
With such learning speed and endless life, no wonder deities are omniscient and omnipotent.
But where exactly is this place? Looking at the attitude of those maids and attendants, it doesn’t seem to be Mother Goddess’s mansion…
At this moment, Tara seemed to hear footsteps at the door. She slightly stopped her hand movements and looked towards the door.
Who?
Knock knock—
After two short, symbolic knocks, Avena directly opened the study door and looked inside. Her gaze immediately locked onto the green-haired little girl.
Is it her?
Although she looked a little thin on the outside, she was indeed as cute as the maid had said. And when she looked at Avena, her gaze showed no evasion or change at all. She just formally lowered her head.
Not a refugee.
Avena immediately came to this conclusion.
“You’re back?”
Ciel closed the book in her hand, looked towards Avena, and showed a faint smile. “Welcome back.”
“Mm. They agreed to transfer the first installment of 10,000 pounds to my account… No need to worry about livelihood issues for a while.”
Avena nodded, walked to Ciel’s side, and asked, “Reading?”
Avena deliberately didn’t mention the maid behind Ciel, just to give Ciel a chance to explain herself.
“Mm, everything’s done. Reading for a bit.”
Ciel stood up, slightly turned to the side, revealing Tara behind her, and said, “Let me introduce you. Her name is Tara, and her current disguised identity is a North Ansu refugee.”
Indeed, not a refugee.
What is her real identity?
Avena slowly walked to Tara’s front, stood beside Ciel, slightly nodded, and said, “My name is Avena. I am the mistress of this place.”
Avena almost stood in front of Ciel, looking as if she was asserting her dominance.
“You can just call me Tara…”
Tara slightly bowed, saying with her head down.
But at this moment, a hint of confusion flashed in Tara’s heart.
Who is this woman? She seems quite close to Lord Ciel… And… the smell of her hair…
Why does the soap she uses smell exactly like what Lord Ciel uses?
“She was sent by the organization to protect and assist me,”
Ciel explained, “Do you mind if she comes with us to Ansu City?”
Ciel’s hand naturally wrapped around Avena’s waist. It seemed she didn’t feel the need to avoid suspicion in front of Tara.
And Avena, looking at Tara before her, slightly frowned. She felt something was not right in her heart.
Seeing Ciel’s action, Tara’s pupils slightly trembled. She looked towards Avena with some shock. Her mind raced.
Living in the same place… looking very close… the smell of soap on their bodies is the same… If you look closely, even the sizes of their clothes are the same—Tara had been wondering why Lord Mother Goddess’s clothes were always a bit too large. Now it seems those clothes all belonged to this Avena before her.
And Lord Mother Goddess’s natural movements of her hand…
Mother Goddess above!
Is this the companion of Mother Goddess’s vessel in this world?! And it’s a woman?!
Then what should I call her?!
Father… Father God?
That’s not right either?! The scripture doesn’t mention this kind of situation either?! There’s no such record in the Divine Advent Scripture either?!
No one would be so idiotic as to arrange a companion for Mother Goddess. This is a very disrespectful act—but now the facts are before Tara, and she has to reshape her beliefs.
Ultimately, the Divine Advent scriptures were all written by later generations, mere attempts to speculate on divine will. Everything should be based on reality.
That brings us back to the original question. What should she be called?
Directly call her “Mother Goddess’s Consort”? That’s too direct. There should be a more appropriate address…

It seems that Ciel unintentionally shared her burden of being an object of Tara’s worship with Avena.
