The Speedrun Manual of Miss Witch - Chapter 190
“Ciel…?”
In the cold underground room, Avena slowly opened her eyes in Ciel’s arms. After her eyes adjusted to the surrounding darkness, she looked at Ciel’s face.
“You’re awake?”
Ciel knelt down, allowing Avena’s feet to touch the ground, and asked softly, “Can you stand?”
“Yes…”
Avena slowly stood up, supporting herself on Ciel’s shoulder. The feeling of her feet touching the solid ground quickly made the dizziness in her head fade.
“Over here, Ciel.”
In a room, Lucy poked her head out and beckoned to Ciel.
“Mm.”
Ciel responded, then quickly walked in the direction where Lucy was.
Opening the door, Ciel saw various experimental instruments of different sizes inside, as well as a complex smell of herbs.
A blanket was spread on the floor in the cramped space. Amy was sleeping on the blanket, and Adele was lying face down on the laboratory table, also seemingly asleep.
The faint light emitted by the kerosene lamp was the only light source here.
The sound of the door opening seemed to have startled Amy and Adele. Adele quickly sat up in a panic, looking towards the door.
“Ciel… Wuwuwu…”
The moment she saw Ciel, Adele’s tears instantly flowed down. Without any warning, she started crying. While wiping her tears, she said unclearly, “You are finally back…”
Compared to Adele, Amy’s reaction seemed calmer. She propped herself up and sat up, looking at Ciel and not speaking for a long time.
Amy had almost never suffered any hardship in her upbringing. Being able to live in such an environment for so long without breaking down was enough to show the toughness of her spiritual power and adaptability.
After briefly comforting Adele, Ciel began to ask about what had happened to them recently.
It turned out that in late September, shortly after Ciel was captured, Lucy obtained the “Gardener” potion. At this time, Amy had already completed the ritual and digested the potion. She was now a true transcendent.
After being arranged by Lucy to hide, Amy began to join Adele’s research. With the assistance of the “Gardener” ability, Adele’s research speed progressed by leaps and bounds.
And now, their achievement was that they had successfully grown a second violet that could resist Rotting Disease. In terms of the quantity of samples, there were no longer any problems.
However, how to extract the special components of this violet, whether it could be made into an antidote, or simply grow plants that resisted Rotting Disease, was still unknown.
Avena, who had now recovered, also stood beside Ciel, quietly listening to their account.
At Ciel’s inquiry, Avena also recounted some of the things she had experienced during the days Ciel was absent.
Ciel listened carefully to Avena’s various efforts to rescue her, and the names of those who had made things difficult for Avena. She secretly recorded them in her mind.
Towards the end of Avena’s account, Ciel suddenly thought of something and asked, “Where is Tara?”
“Little Tara is in the sewer over there… She stays there almost every day… It seems she went out a few times as well. We tried to persuade her not to go out casually, but we couldn’t stop her.”
Adele said.
Sewer?
“Wait, I’ll find her first. You wait for me.”
After being arrested, the most anxious and likely to do something extreme was Tara. Compared to others, she had no rationality to speak of.
Ciel left the room and followed the passage to a secret door. After pushing open the secret door, she heard the sound of flowing water and smelled the foul odor of the sewer.
Ciel walked out of the secret passage and stood in the walkway on the right side of the sewer. She looked left and right.
Soon, she noticed a faint, barely visible mark.
This was a mark of the Divine Advent Church… Ciel had seen it at Deton Manor. She was very familiar with these marks.
Following the marks, Ciel stopped at the last mark.
This was a stone wall. Ciel reached out, aimed at the brick below the mark, and pushed the stone in directly.
Nothing happened. There was no vibration or sound of gears meshing.
This stone door was pulled open. Warm yellow light shone out from inside. Ciel looked inside along the light. In an underground space of only fifty or sixty square meters, people in black robes were sitting. They all turned their heads in unison and looked in Ciel’s direction.
“This rescue plan is of utmost importance. We must rescue the person inside at all costs. Children, the time to dedicate your lives and loyalty has come… Lord Ciel?!”
Tara, who was standing in the middle, giving a speech with her back to Ciel, noticed the gaze of the others and turned to look. The words she was speaking instantly got stuck, turning into a gasp.
Ciel instantly understood what Tara was about to do and was glad she had come a step earlier.
Otherwise, she would have lost a portion of her fighting force for nothing.
Looking at the Divine Advent Church members before her, Ciel’s mind raced. An idea surfaced in her mind.
“Tara, come here.” Ciel beckoned to Tara.
Everyone quickly made way. Tara, wearing her church robe, ran to Ciel and bowed her head respectfully.
“I have a question for you.” Ciel said to Tara.
Tara forcefully resisted the urge to look up at Ciel’s face. She forced herself to look down. Suppressing her joyful emotions, she opened her mouth and said, “You… please ask.”
“What is the Divine Advent Church’s view on reunification with the Church of the Savior Goddess?” Ciel asked.

Welp time to subvert and farm fate points again.
Also I’m noticing that instigator’s annoying presence has diminished, which is good, but also could be bad.
Maybe instigator is laying low knowing the risk on Avena, but I really doubt that. Either the instigator is becoming less obvious to Ciel herself, or is actually maturing with the infusion of dream thief and subverter, becoming less loud and apparent, but more silent and cunning.
