- Chapter 212 - Another Transcendent Banquet (1/3)
In less than half an hour, a bottle of potion was placed before Ciel.
The specially made clear glass bottle contained a single, almost hard crystal-like blood-red eyeball. It looked somewhat similar to Oppold’s sealed artifact, the “Eye of Peering Death Omen.”
The more Ciel looked at this eyeball, the more she felt another item also resembled it.
After a brief second of searching through her numerous memories, Ciel found where this “sense of similarity” came from.
The “Shifting Remnant Coin”—which was the demon eye imprinted on the reverse side of what Lucy called the “Strong Luck Coin.”
It seemed these were all products of the same path.
“Lord Bishop, the ‘Fanatic’ potion you requested.”
After Kitty placed the tray in front of Ciel, she respectfully took two steps back, lowering her head.
Ciel picked up the potion bottle. The crystalline blood-eye floated within the bottle, surrounded by red lightning that supported it. If viewed from a distance, it looked like a red spherical lightning bolt.
Just holding the potion bottle, Ciel’s palm felt a slight tingling sensation, as if she could feel the volatile power of the potion through the bottle.
Ciel slowly reached out, about to uncork the potion.
The corner of Kitty’s eye noticed Ciel’s action. Her eyelids twitched. She was about to speak to remind Ciel, but ultimately swallowed and dared not say anything.
The Bishop must be interacting with transcendent powers of another level. They surely know more taboos and knowledge than she does. There’s no need to be talkative.
When Ciel pulled out the stopper, the lightning carrying the eyeball inside seemed as if it would directly burst out from the bottle’s mouth. Just then, Ciel raised the bottle and aimed the opening at her mouth.
As if magnets attracting each other, the blood-eye, which had not been moving very intensely, sensed “Adventurer” Ciel and, with a flash of electric light, directly entered Ciel’s mouth.
The blood-eye quickly dissolved the moment it touched Ciel’s oral mucosa. The liquid within the crystal, carrying a “spicy” sensation that almost numbed her taste buds, began to cover all of Ciel’s senses, starting from her mouth.
Ciel closed her eyes and slowly absorbed this intense pain—her current tolerance for pain was unparalleled. These sensations did not cause any significant change in her expression.
The faint whispers that had previously been in her mind began to intensify. This was a disturbance that could now affect her thoughts… Ciel had felt this sensation when she first consumed the “Judicator” potion.
This should be a symptom of the reconstitution ritual being incomplete, or the potion not being fully digested… or rather, this is the sensation that ordinary transcendents experience almost every moment.
However, compared to the pollution from the Other Side, these whispers were insignificant. Although they had a slight impact on Ciel, it was not significant.
It seems the “Fanatic” reconstitution ritual was not perfectly completed by herself… but at least it’s usable.
Every time a potion was consumed, the whispers in the mind would stack. It was no wonder that Tier 3 was a turning point. So many people, after consuming Tier 3 potions, even if they successfully advanced, experienced physical mutations.
The interrogation of Fred was over. For the remaining time, Ciel, accompanied by Kitty and a few transcendents, paid a visit to the Stuart Art Exchange in Berren City. Unfortunately, they did not find Edward’s whereabouts, nor even Isabella.
The Stuart Art Exchange had branches in different cities across the country, so the other party couldn’t possibly stay in Berren City all the time… At this time, it would be more convenient to go to Avena.
At least Avena knew Isabella.
By daytime, Kitty took Ciel to visit Avena. However, perhaps because the events of last night had become widespread, Avena, being well-informed, already knew about the conflict between Deton Manor and the Redemption Society last night, so she did not receive Kitty. Kitty and Ciel were met with a closed door.
Instead, when Kitty was about to leave, she was blocked by Sherlon and his people, who demanded an explanation from Kitty.
At this time, Avena, who was not yet familiar with Ciel, was quite vigilant. When Ciel actively approached her, it was difficult to meet her, let alone communicate or gain Avena’s trust.
Ciel wasn’t unable to directly infiltrate the manor to see Avena, but this would inevitably lead to conflict with Nia.
“Fanatic” in direct combat couldn’t penetrate the “Crown Guard”‘s armor. If she had to use the Other Side, Nia would definitely collapse, inevitably stacking Nemesis…
Anyway, now that she had the information, she couldn’t directly find Edward. She could only ask Avena about it in reality.
In the remaining time, Ciel did not make any further moves. She simply returned to Clock Tower Alley and spent the last moments with her sister.
It wasn’t that she didn’t want to do anything, but rather, there simply wasn’t enough time for her to do anything else.
At 18:29 in the evening, silver light flashed before Ciel. The next moment, she found herself in a silver-white space.
【No.8: “Fanatic” Ciel】
After skillfully saving “Fanatic” to the No.8 save file, Ciel directly exited the simulation.
The silver space before her eyes quickly faded.
…
【Reality】
【Holy Year 741, July 17th, 19:26】
【Evaluation: Hey, I must remind you, Host】
【You have already consumed the “Gambler” potion. You can directly log in as “Gambler” and transfer to the adjacent “Fanatic”. There is no need to start from Tier 1 with an additional new save…】
【Of course, this is absolutely not because I wanted you to save a file with the Sadhana mark to watch the fun. I am just giving a kind reminder ^^_】
【Take it. This is what you deserve based on your performance.】
【Rewards: Fate Points × 9】
【Fate Points: 516】
Ciel merely glanced at the settlement panel before her and did not continue looking.
No reward. This was normal. After all, Ciel in the simulation had only drunk two potions, and then killed the people she had already killed again.
Although she did obtain some information, it seemed that in the system’s eyes, this information had little to do with future changes, so no good rewards were given. At most, it reimbursed most of the points consumed by the simulation.
