- Chapter 220 - What Qualifications Do You Have? (3/3)
Soon, Avena, holding Ciel close, arrived at the reception room.
Eleanor, who had already heard the footsteps, looked up towards the door and saw Avena entering with Ciel in her arms.
Eleanor was slightly stunned. She seemed to be unable to immediately accept this change in Ciel’s appearance.
She couldn’t connect the girl before her, who looked soft and weak, with the terrifying, calculating girl from before who had broken Forte’s consciousness with just a few words.
However, Eleanor didn’t show too much surprise. There were many transcendents whose personalities were more distorted due to the influence of potions. Ciel’s case was only considered relatively normal.
After Avena helped Ciel sit down opposite Eleanor, Ciel leaned back against the soft backrest of the sofa, almost instantly sinking into the sofa.
“Long time no see, Eleanor…”
Ciel looked at Eleanor and smiled slightly, greeting her.
Eleanor first slightly nodded to Avena beside her, greeting Avena. Then she looked at Ciel and said, “I extracted some information…”
Saying this, Eleanor handed a neatly organized notebook to Ciel.
Ciel reached out and took the notebook. She opened it and quickly scanned through it.
Ciel flipped through the pages extremely quickly. In less than twenty seconds, almost half a notebook’s worth of interrogation notes had been imprinted in Ciel’s mind.
After finishing reading, Ciel closed the notebook, shut her eyes, and began to digest the contents of the notebook.
What was recorded in it was basically Forte’s correct memories from every “rewind.” The memories included every instance of Forte using his “Uniqueness” and the results over the past hundred or nearly two hundred years since he obtained it.
Half of it was the dangers and life-and-death crises Forte himself had encountered, while the other half, the later part, was entirely Forte’s memories of using “Uniqueness” to wage wars and plunder resources.
But this content was not new to Ciel.
Because Forte’s rewinds and loops did not retain the previous process. In other words, in Forte’s memory, there was only the solution and the result, completely lacking the process.
Moreover, some events that were easily solved for Ciel were repeated several times in Forte’s rewinds because he couldn’t retain more information.
But this was still very troublesome for Ciel…
Just speaking of “Uniqueness,” his ability posed no threat to Ciel, but the most troublesome thing was that Forte himself was a Tier 4 transcendent.
This was enough to compensate for his disadvantage of not frequently using “Uniqueness.”
Unfortunately, there was no information about the next few decades in this brain of Forte’s—this brain came from Windsor on July 20th, not from Windsor 100 days later at the beginning of the simulation. Therefore, there was no information about Forte’s future.
However, one thing Ciel could confirm.
That was, Forte’s remaining rewind attempts might be fewer than she had imagined.
Perhaps, if she simulated Future Days a few more times, if it was at a time point in the future when Forte was about to rewind, forcing him to exhaust his attempts several times, Forte might directly exhaust himself to death or to madness.
But this was unlikely.
The closer he was to death, the more frantic and aggressive Forte’s actions would become. Ciel was not prepared to face a mad Tier 4.
No one knew what a lunatic would do.
However, fortunately, this simulation was not completely without gains.
She had exposed Mond, the true mastermind who obtained Adele’s thesis information. At least Adele could remain safe in reality.
Considering the indirect relationship between Mond, Lafayette, and Forte, it was also highly likely that Mond was the one who leaked the information about the antidote to Forte 100 days after her first simulation.
Why would Mond leak this information? Was it simply to disrupt the research and prevent the reconstitution ritual in North Ansu from being destroyed?
If she wanted to protect the reconstitution ritual, she could have reported this information anonymously to Forte or the Church of the God of Order early on. Ciel and her companions would have been quickly dealt with.
The only problem might lie in Mond’s own reconstitution ritual.
In this interrogation, Mond had indeed revealed her purpose—she wanted to perfect her reconstitution ritual, using cholera to kill twenty to thirty thousand people in the East District.
But during her first simulation, her simulated self was very attentive to the information in the newspapers. There was absolutely no news about a cholera outbreak.
She had failed, and the reason was unknown.
It was possible that Forte or the Church of the God of Order, to maintain stability, discovered and prevented Mond’s cholera plan.
It was also possible that the cholera had just started to spread and was suppressed by the people from the Redemption Society…
“Your Excellency Ciel.”
Eleanor, seeing that Ciel had not spoken for a long time, addressed Ciel directly. It seemed she had something urgent she needed to ask Ciel.
“What is it?” Ciel looked at Eleanor before her.
“Thank you very much for your help to the Church of the Savior Goddess this time… Without you, we wouldn’t even know that Forte wanted to eliminate us like this…”
Eleanor paused here, then looked at Avena beside her.
Seemingly guessing Eleanor’s concerns, Ciel said directly, “Don’t worry, just speak freely. Avena is my person…”
This title seemed to make Avena feel a little displeased, but her expression didn’t change. She didn’t let Ciel lose face in front of outsiders.
“As you know, Miss Ciel, this continent hasn’t experienced the manifestation of a new ‘Uniqueness’ in a long time. Forte carries a ‘Uniqueness,’ and your ‘Uniqueness,’ it seems, originate from the same source…”
Eleanor looked at Ciel before her and continued, “Is the ‘Uniqueness’ on you the one that manifested before…?”
“Damn it.”
Ciel did not answer.
“You misunderstand. We have no interest in ‘Uniqueness’,”
Eleanor saw Ciel’s guard. She said, “We want to seek your cooperation.”
“We have a common enemy—Forte.”
“If you and your organization help us oppose Forte and other organizations that want to destroy the Church of the Savior Goddess, we will lend our full support… If we obtain that ‘Uniqueness’ afterward, we will humbly offer it to you.”
Ciel listened to Eleanor’s words before her and smiled, shaking her head.
“The Society of Merriment, the Church of the God of Order, the Royal Orchestra… so many people are coveting you,”
Ciel looked at Eleanor’s faceless mask, “What confidence do you have to come and seek cooperation with me?”
“If I don’t cooperate with you, I only have Forte to oppose.”
“If I cooperate with you, I will offend the other organizations as well.”
“What… qualifications do you have to discuss cooperation with me?”
Ciel looked at Eleanor before her, waiting for her answer.

The part about the next few decades is definitely wrong. I’d guess it should be weeks?
Also, the ‘damn it’ seems out of place considering it says she didn’t say anything. Maybe that should be an internal thought?
