- Chapter 249 - Little Left's Taming Plan (2/2)
It was now half past four in the morning, but Ciel didn’t mind disturbing Lucy at all. Instead, she directly rang the bell by the iron gate, causing a startled night-duty maid to rush out and inform Lucy.
After only about three minutes, Ciel saw a figure in a windbreaker, but still wearing a nightgown, hurrying out with an oil lamp. She hadn’t even changed out of her slippers. It seemed she was just trying to meet Ciel at the earliest possible moment—or rather, to make Ciel believe she was being treated with importance.
“Miss Ciel, please come in.”
Lucy didn’t ask what Ciel had come for. She just led Ciel into the mansion and went to the study. Along the way, Lucy even pinched out a pinch of snuff from a snuff box and inhaled it, seemingly to refresh herself.
Only after seating Ciel on the sofa in the study did Lucy speak: “Excuse me, I didn’t have time to change… Is there something urgent, Miss Ciel?”
“Yes.”
Ciel nodded and said, “I need a place, a place where I can experiment with some things without being detected by transcendents.”
“An… experimental site?”
Lucy quickly understood Ciel’s meaning. She inhaled deeply, then calmly asked, “Private? Or within the Deton Group?”
“If the disturbance isn’t very large and won’t cause explosions or other loud noises, I recommend you go to the Deton Group’s ‘Stakes Manor.’ It’s a bit far, somewhat similar to the Deton Manor in Berren City from before, but it’s not open to the public. It’s essentially an internal training ground.”
“As for private ones, I don’t currently know of any privately built locations that can be completely undetected… Of course, there might be some, but they just haven’t been detected…”
“Are there many people at Stakes Manor?”
Ciel asked.
“No. You need to make a reservation to use it. I can book it for you, ensuring no one will come for the entire day.”
Lucy shook her head.
“Okay.”
Ciel nodded. “Then I’ll trouble you.”
“No trouble at all.”
Lucy waved her hands repeatedly and said, “It would be best if I could be of help… Are there any other areas where you need assistance? For example, experimental materials? Equipment?”
Lucy might have just been being polite, but Ciel indeed had needs in this area.
“Fingers.”
Ciel looked at Lucy before her and asked, “Do you have any fingers with transcendent characteristics?”
“This…”
Lucy was stunned for a moment.
Nothing else is needed, just fingers?
Vaguely, Lucy somewhat realized that the experiment Ciel was talking about seemed not very simple.
“Yes,”
Lucy nodded and readily agreed, saying, “However, I have to first inquire if the ‘Coroners’ within the group have any in stock… Generally speaking, these materials are supplied at high prices to the Natura Medical Group. We only keep a small portion as inventory.”
Lucy quickly took action. She changed her clothes and personally went to the home of a group “Coroner” to purchase several finger materials preserved in reagent bottles. After obtaining them, she hurried back home and took Ciel and Tara in a carriage.
Lucy herself drove this carriage. By the time they left the city and arrived at the Stakes Manor Lucy had mentioned, the sky in the distance was already turning pale, and it was already six o’clock in the morning.
Lucy opened the manor gate and handed the key to Ciel. Then she said, “Miss Ciel, you can use the facilities inside as you wish… Do I need to stay away?”
Before leaving Ansu City, Lucy had already had the butler announce the booking of the entire manor to the Deton Group. For the next three days, no transcendents would come to Stakes Manor. The right to use the entire manor was in Lucy’s hands.
With her current authority, she could easily do these things.
Stay away?
Ciel looked at Lucy before her. After thinking for a moment, she said, “No need… But if you feel any discomfort, please leave the area yourself.”
Lucy had also done her best during this time. Regarding matters of the Other Side, Ciel didn’t have much reason to avoid her anymore.
Appropriately showing some things could make Lucy more dedicated to helping her.
Having received permission, Lucy led Ciel into the manor’s basement—this was a spacious experimental area. The surrounding walls seemed to be reinforced with spiritual materials and were very smooth.
This place was already far enough from the city. Ciel had no reservations at all.
After taking out a finger, she directly used a small knife to cut her index finger and activated a spiritual summoning in the underground experimental area.
Blood threads emerged from the wound on Ciel’s finger, forming a small, complex blood ritual array in mid-air. The blood ritual array enveloped the finger material—this blood ritual array was very familiar to Ciel. The right blood ritual array and materials could perfectly target Little Left.
Lucy and Tara beside her watched the scene before them without blinking. Lucy was shocked and uncertain, while Tara was more excited.
As Ciel chanted the incantation, a bloody vortex twisted above the blood ritual array and the finger. After a terrifying fluctuation that made their hearts pound, a white phantom directly emerged from within.
Lucy suppressed her urge to exclaim. She watched a terrifying hand-shaped monster, with over a dozen fingers and about the size of a human head, come to rest on Ciel’s shoulder.
Ciel seemed quite familiar with the monster. She directly reached out and gently stroked the back of the strange hand.
At this moment, Ciel looked at Little Left on her shoulder, feeling a bit troubled.
This… How should she communicate with it?
It could indeed understand some of her simple commands, but how could she make Little Left understand things like “Uniqueness” and Forte’s rewind?
And she also needed it to remember what to do next and then help her?
This difficulty was no less than teaching a monkey advanced mathematics.
Things needed to be done one by one, and meals needed to be eaten one bite at a time. It was also a good opportunity for Ciel to learn more about the characteristics of Other Side creatures.
Each sacrifice had caused Little Left to change more than before. Now, Little Left had nearly twenty fingers. From a distance, it looked somewhat like a slightly strange facehugger.
Perhaps each sacrifice caused Little Left to evolve a little more.
Soon, a flash of inspiration struck Ciel’s mind.
【Omniscient】… It can allow something symbolizing me to directly connect with me, and my voice can be directly transmitted to the other party.
Then… could she have Little Left hold something like this in the Other Side, connecting with her, and thus achieve remote control?
Have an Other Side creature, in the Other Side, “pray” to her in reality…?

When Avena asks Ciel what she spent her pocket money on, hearing “fingers”, probably won’t make her happy.
