“Cough cough… Just to clarify beforehand, you can play if you want, and I can cooperate, but no large-scale destructive actions are allowed…”
Imogen hesitated and said, “It cannot affect the original plan…”
Although Imogen had many other objectives for coming to Ansu, her main mission was to stop the repeal of the 《Corn Laws》, preferably making the authorities no longer focus on North Ansu and let North Ansu fend for itself.
This was in the best interest of that esteemed individual.
Ciel slowly looked up at Imogen before her.
Through her probing, she had already learned quite a bit about the other party’s intentions and thoughts…
Ciel had thought this was an action targeting her, but it seemed more like a “chance encounter.”
From the very beginning, she was not the other party’s target. The other party’s initial objective was to resolve the matter of the 《Corn Laws》.
As for later, encountering Mond, obtaining information about herself from her mind, and then discovering her exaggerated “talent,” thus wanting to develop her into a transcendent on the “Poison Master” path… these were all spur-of-the-moment decisions.
As long as she stopped William and prevented him from repealing the 《Corn Laws》, Imogen would have no reason to come. As for Mond, she would simply modify her memory and have her leave by sea, to a place where she wouldn’t be found for at least several years—killing her directly would only arouse suspicion.
Doing so would largely avoid direct conflict with the people of the Society of Merriment, nipping the problem in the bud.
As for the lives and deaths of the famine-stricken people in North Ansu, they were never Ciel’s primary concern. Her primary goal, from beginning to end, was to protect her own life and the lives of those around her.
Since the most critical issue had been resolved, next, it was time to see if she could bluff and get more information out of the other party…
“I have no thoughts about your plan,”
Ciel shook her head and said, “I am only very curious about one thing.”
“What is it?”
“You seem very concerned about Mond’s life and death… Why? She’s just a ‘Source of Cholera.'”
Ciel looked at Imogen before her and asked.
“Because of this, you even planned to capture me as a substitute… This should be related to me, right? I have a right to know.”
“This…?”
Imogen looked at Ciel before her, confirming she wasn’t joking, and asked in confusion, “Haven’t you already integrated with ‘Uniqueness’…?”
“The potion of an Ascender has no discernible traces or patterns. One can only explore it on their own. We have already explored an effective solution and implemented it. The reconstitution ritual was completed very smoothly.”
“However, for the potion itself, only the most primitive method can be used… using the flesh and blood of two other Tier 4s of the same path as materials…”
Saying this, Imogen’s pupils slightly constricted.
Could it be…
They were on the wrong path?
This mysterious young lady before her had clearly successfully integrated with “Uniqueness.” According to the definition of the Society of Merriment’s high-ranking members, having integrated with a part of “Uniqueness,” she was already an Ascender.
But… had Ciel really reached Tier 4?
Could one integrate with “Uniqueness” even without reaching Tier 4?
“Uniqueness” and Ascender must be related, but what happened to Ciel denied their theoretical research.
Were their theories wrong?
Imogen’s speculation made her feel a chill in her heart. She realized that there were some things she had to ask the young lady before her without reservation.
The method of forcefully probing memories simply wouldn’t work. Moreover, that red-haired young lady could even “revive.” She wouldn’t die even if her head burst open. In such a situation, Imogen certainly couldn’t think of forcefully probing memories anymore.
But she had to confirm from the other party whether that esteemed individual’s theory was wrong.
Thinking of this, Imogen took a deep breath. She immediately stood up, solemnly looked at the red-haired young lady before her, and slightly lowered her head, saying, “Your Excellency Ciel, please… could you share with me your experience of integrating with ‘Uniqueness’?”
Perhaps worried that Ciel would not agree, she quickly added, “That esteemed individual and you are likely not on the same path. She is a ‘Calamity Apostle.’ The ‘Uniqueness’ she obtained is also on the ‘Poison Master’ path. There is no conflict of interest between her and you.”
Experience of integrating with “Uniqueness”?
Why don’t you ask the system?
But soon, Ciel realized.
This was an opportunity.
Any transcendent living in the world would have desires.
Whether it was to become stronger, or to seek revenge… or even simply to survive.
Whispers would constantly gnaw at a transcendent’s sanity. Transcendent without the will to survive would have long been eroded by the madness of the potion.
Therefore, living transcendents, deep down, at least possessed the desire to fight madness and survive.
Even Forte only thought of using the Church of the God of Order’s artificial divinity plan to resist the whispers and chaotic memories in his mind.
Their desires had repeatedly become Ciel’s bargaining chips. At this moment, Ciel realized where that transcendent in North Ansu’s desires and obsession truly lay.
In integrating with “Uniqueness.”
She had probably already completed the reconstitution ritual. She was also preparing the potion, but she didn’t seem to be ready to integrate with “Uniqueness,” so she could only let the ritual continue.
Imogen’s trip this time was to eliminate opposition to the 《Corn Laws》 and make North Ansu fade from public view. But the core purpose was to allow the “ritual” to continue until the integration of “Uniqueness” was complete.
As for how to integrate with “Uniqueness,” Ciel couldn’t provide any specific solutions or methods, but she didn’t need to know.
She just needed to make the other party believe that she knew.
This was something Ciel was good at.
“You should know, this is a secret matter.”
Ciel looked at Imogen before her and slowly said, “I have no reason to tell you.”
Ciel was going to lead the conversation to an area that others were completely unfamiliar with, but which Ciel had some knowledge of.
The Other Side.
Ciel slowly raised her right hand. Silver light flickered. A silver pocket watch appeared before her. A slender silver bone chain hung from her knuckles. The silver snake head gently swayed.
“As for ‘Uniqueness’…”
Ciel opened the cover of the pocket watch. The golden gears rotating beneath the pointer slowly spun. “I have indeed integrated with quite a bit…”
The pocket watch slowly dissipated from Ciel’s hand. And Ciel’s right eye, with its silver watch face, and her left eye, with its turning golden gears, seemed to emit a captivating light.
【Overlimit】
【Nemesis】
Cracks appeared on the silver watch face. An ancient watch face emerged behind Ciel. The rotating hands seemed to propel the time of the entire world forward, as if the world would freeze if it stopped…

What about hitting Mond with Barb and making her disappear?
are Forte and Ciel really ok with a Tier 5 from Society of Merry appearing…?
Even if we ignore that, if we think about it Ciel needs to drink all the potions, and all the uniqueness out there are fragments of hers. Which means sooner or later they will fight.
As for Forte, he has reasons. He likely thinks if other side succeeds he would learn how to integrate uniqueness, then go back in time and stop them and bring the method back. If they fail, they would likely die and provide info for Forte anyways
