The Speedrun Manual of Miss Witch - Chapter 279
Ciel and Avena were both stunned by this attire, but Ciel quickly reacted.
Adele’s height and figure were still very recognizable, especially the strand of silver-white long hair peeking out from under the robe.
“What kind of outfit is this?” Ciel looked at Adele and asked with some curiosity.
“A disguise.” Adele folded her arms across her chest and puffed out her chest, saying with some pride, “How is it? You can’t recognize who I am, can you?”
“Did you really come out of your house dressed like that?” Ciel couldn’t help but ask.
“Of course.” Adele subtly tilted her chin up, revealing her slender, fair neck.
“Did your maids and butler watch you leave looking like this?” Ciel asked with a smile.
“Yes,” Adele took off her hood and goggles, pulled down her mask to hang around her neck, wiped the sweat from her forehead, and asked Ciel, “Why are you asking?”
“It’s nothing.” Ciel smiled and shook her head, “Excellent disguise. Don’t disguise yourself next time.”
Wearing this outfit actually made her stand out even more…
“Why did you disguise yourself? Did something happen?” Ciel pointed to the sofa beside her and said, “Sit down.”
Hearing Ciel’s tone, Adele finally remembered the purpose of her visit. She sat opposite Ciel. After taking the tea Tara handed her and politely saying “thank you,” she looked in Ciel’s direction.
“Ciel…” Adele lowered her voice and said, “Professor Ashford sent a message, asking me to find him at the Redemption Society… Should I go?”
Ashford?
Wasn’t he bombed?
Ciel knew that “Reborns” were tough, but in previous simulations, Ashford remained “severely injured” almost until the very end, never reappearing.
In the simulation, Adele had indeed gone to find Ashford under Ciel’s orders. Ciel knew that Ashford had not actually fallen into a so-called “deep coma.” He was hiding in the Redemption Society simply to avoid Forte’s subsequent targeting and potential assassinations by the Society of Merriment.
Now that Forte was dead, Ashford seemed to be active again after recovering for a few days.
“Did he say why?” Ciel asked.
“The ‘Plague Doctor’ who delivered the message told me not to tell anyone…” Adele said hesitantly, “So I came to ask you, Ciel, to hear your opinion.”
Adele still remembered her promise to Ciel: no matter what happened in the future, she would consult Ciel and only act with Ciel’s permission.
The trouble she caused last time still made Adele feel guilty towards Ciel, unsure how to compensate Ciel.
Ashford…
Now, besides Mond, only Ashford knew the truth about the mutated violet.
Ciel had thought about erasing Ashford’s memories before, but after learning that Ashford’s memories had no impact on the Society of Merriment’s arrival, Ciel no longer had any thoughts of targeting Ashford.
However… Ashford could somewhat represent the Redemption Society, and the Redemption Society also had many collaborations with the Church of the Savior Goddess. Perhaps there was a chance to “lure” the Redemption Society into Ciel’s faction as well.
And the method was very simple.
Every organization would have something they wanted, and Ciel was very good at finding these things.
She would offer a condition that the Redemption Society absolutely could not refuse.
That was an opportunity to research the antidote for the “Rotting Disease.”
The plague created by a “Poison Master” was also an opportunity for a “Physician” to complete their reconstitution ritual… The two were incompatible, naturally opposing each other.
And the mutated violet samples that Ciel could exchange for could accelerate the “Physicians'” research speed… If the “Rotting Disease” could truly be solved, then even Tier 4 potions might instantly dissolve upon consumption.
Who could refuse this opportunity?
Ciel would try to attract every worthy organization, especially those with irreconcilable conflicts with the Society of Merriment.
With no obstacles to the merger of the Church of the Savior and the Divine Advent Church, it was only a matter of time for Ciel. Ciel always had a grip on the Church of the God of Order’s pain points. With a single move, she could get them to agree to cooperate.
In contrast, Ciel had less contact with the Redemption Society and the Deton Group. She had only contacted one Tier 3 from each of these organizations.
“Yes.” Ciel looked up at Adele and said, “I’ll go with you.”
The incident where Adele was poisoned and died after going to find Ashford in the previous simulation left a deep lesson in Ciel’s mind. Although Mond had left and Lafayette had also escaped, Ciel was still a little uneasy.
“Will there be any danger?” Avena asked from the side.
If there was danger, Avena would also go along. With her presence, the Redemption Society wouldn’t dare to do anything, especially with Charles currently at the height of his power in Ansu.
“No danger.” Ciel shook her head. “I just have some things to discuss with Ashford.”
“Alright…” Avena nodded. “Do you want to go now?”
“Mm.” Adele nodded repeatedly. “I came over as soon as I received the message. There are still… 30 minutes until the agreed time.”
“I’ll take you there.” Avena looked at Ciel and Adele and said.
“What are you going to do?” Ciel looked at Avena. She had thought Avena would suggest going together.
“Visit some people.” Avena thought for a moment and then explained, “To help you inquire about that path.”
“Alright.” Ciel took a deep breath. A silver light flickered before her eyes.
She wanted to see when the next simulation would be, and whether she needed to go through things in the simulation directly.
「Future Days: 1h (Holy Year 741, July 25th, 1:00 PM) (Cost: 10 Fate Points)」
「Past Days: 3 Days (Holy Year 741, July 22nd, 1:00 PM) (Cost: 10 Fate Points)」
One hour?
One hour… there doesn’t seem to be a need for a simulation. Better to wait and see what time the Future Days simulation refreshes to in an hour.
One hour is not enough to see much of the future, nor to set anything up in advance. It’s useless to Ciel now.
Drinking the “Ascetic” and “Listener” potions only required one simulation. Even if these two paths were collected in advance, the lack of that mysterious path still wouldn’t unlock Old Days, so there wasn’t much point in directly simulating just to drink these two potions in advance.
She would just go directly.
As for security, with Percy present, there wouldn’t be any major problems.
She also wanted to see if Ashford had made any progress in his antidote research during this time… If he had, Ciel would have another trump card to threaten that Society of Merriment member in North Ansu.
