The Strongest Onmyoji and the Shikigami With AI are Unparalleled in Another World ~ A Second Life Properly Enjoyed Using Artificial Intelligence ~ - Chapter 214
The next morning, Pamela arrived early and handed us the adventurer cards for AI-chan and Leanne.
We asked Pamela to look after the house and then used teleportation.
“Oh, that’s Lian, huh?”
“Wow! It’s huge!”
Natalia and Lily were looking at the city ahead.
Since it was night yesterday, we could only see the lights, but seeing it in the daylight like this, it was indeed big.
“……In an instant, it’s another country. Chibimasu, go visit the tourist cities around the world.”
“If you go yourself, you’ll feel the excitement.”
“……That’s true. We should travel one day, right?”
Alice looked up at me.
“That’s what we talked about. I think it’s a good idea. Since Leanne’s here, we can always return when we get tired.”
“Leave it to me! I’ll follow you anywhere!”
Leanne clasped her hands as if praying, her eyes sparkling as she looked up.
“Yes, yes. You can talk about that at home. More importantly, we need to go quickly. Leanne’s got work in the afternoon, so we need to find an inn to stay at before noon, right?”
Annie clapped her hands.
“Would it be more reliable to ask the guild?”
“I think so. Since we’ll be returning via Leanne’s teleportation, we don’t need a fancy inn like when we stayed in the royal capital. Just a place that’s reasonably safe and reasonably cheap. Let’s ask them to recommend one.”
Finding an inn with those conditions would be a bit of a hassle, so the guild it is.
We’ll have to ask about the labyrinth too and give them our letter of introduction, so we might as well ask about the inn while we’re at it.
“A large room should be fine, right?”
“We don’t need to rent multiple rooms. We’re here to make money, so let’s save where we can.”
“Alright, let’s go.”
I summoned Koma-chan, had Leanne ride, and we started walking down the road toward Lian.
As we walked, we could see the gate to the town and two guards at the entrance.
“Master, once we enter the town, please tell them that all of you are Master’s wives.”
As we walked toward the gate, AI-chan made a suggestion.
“I’ll ask just to be sure. Why?”
“Well, there’s the possibility that A-rank Master could be recruited, but all of you are B-rank. You’re all high rank, and women are more likely to be recruited for other reasons as well. It’s easier to avoid trouble if we say this… since it’s technically true.”
That does seem like a good idea.
“Alright. We’re here to make money, so I’d rather avoid any unnecessary trouble. You all fine with that?”
I checked with everyone.
“I think that works.”
Natalia nodded enthusiastically.
“……It’s less bothersome that way.”
Alice looked up at the sky.
“Hehe.”
Lily was embarrassed.
“One man and six women—anyone would think that, right?”
Well, what about Annie’s outfit?
“Is it really believable that I’m a wife?”
It is, it is.
It worked even back in the magic continent.
“Our party name works with that too.”
We decided on the setting (?) and arrived at the gate.
“Halt. Are you adventurers?”
The gate guard asked.
“Yeah. We’re here to make money in the labyrinth.”
“Hmm…”
The soldier stared at me for a moment, then looked at the women behind me.
“Seeing that they’re holding staffs, are the women magicians?”
“Yeah. I’m A-rank, and the women are B-rank.”
Though AI-chan and Riane are different.
“Hoh…! That’s impressive. Are you from this country?”
“No… eh? Hey, what’s the name of our country again?”
I asked Natalia.
“Oh, you didn’t know? It’s the Yuze Kingdom.”
Oh… I see.
“We’re adventurers from the town of Celia in the Yuze Kingdom. We can’t find work in winter, so we came here on an expedition.”
“Ah, Celia, huh. I know it, I know it. It’s the town that’s split into four parts, that weird town, right?”
Your Majesty, it’s already known in other countries too…
“That’s the one. It’s ridiculous, right?”
“Exactly. Well, I understand. Show me your adventurer card, just yours will do.”
I showed him my adventurer card as he requested.
“Indeed… A high-rank adventurer is always welcome. Welcome to the labyrinth city of Lian.”
So this town really does gather adventurers.
“Where’s the guild?”
“There are plenty of them.”
Huh?
“This town is split into several parts, too?”
“Don’t compare us to you. About 90% of the work in this town’s guilds is related to the labyrinth. And each guild handles different labyrinths. After all, there are over 50 labyrinths in this town.”
Fifty…
That’s definitely a labyrinth city.
“We came here to make money. A guild that handles higher-level labyrinths would be good.”
“You’re A-rank, huh. Then head to the North District. Go straight down this main road, and you’ll see the central clock tower. If you head north from there, you’ll find the guild in the North District.”
“Got it. Is it okay if we pass through?”
“Yeah. It’s either make a lot of money or die… I hope you make it through here safely and return to your homeland.”
More people probably don’t make it out.
“Thank you.”
I said my thanks and passed through the gate into the town.
The town was a bustling metropolis like the royal capital, filled with many people.
But the difference from the royal capital was that there were clearly more adventurers here.
More than half of the people were men and women holding weapons or staffs.
“It’s definitely an adventurer’s town.”
“It’s a little scary.”
Natalia grabbed my clothes.
“None of them are any stronger than you, so there’s no problem. Besides, as long as you’re with me, there’s no problem.”
“Yeah.”
Natalia smiled and nodded while patting Alice on the back.
“…That hurts. Natalia gets all worked up so easily.”
We walked down the main street toward the center.
We passed many adventurers, but most of the people first looked at Annie, who had the smallest amount of cloth covering her.
Then they looked at me and AI-chan’s clothes, and finally, they looked at Leanne riding on Koma-chan.
“Annie.”
“I know. But this is my default look.”
Annie sure attracts attention wherever she goes…
In her hometown of Celia, she doesn’t get as much attention, but in the royal capital, everyone was definitely staring.
“Annie, I have a simple question, but aren’t you embarrassed?”
AI-chan asked Annie.
“I’m confident in my figure, you know? Fashion includes style. As long as the parts that shouldn’t be shown aren’t visible, it’s fine.”
It’s probably a matter of personal pride.
“Is it only for the Master to show and touch…?”
“Stop adding unnecessary comments.”
When Annie gave a side-eye, we reached the central clock tower.
“Oh! What a big clock!”
Lily was excited.
But, I can understand why—it really is big and tall.
“You said north, right? That means it’s over there…”
We walked down the main street heading north.
Then, we saw the guild at the end of the road.
“That’s it…”
“Shall we go in?”
“Yeah. Leanne, Koma-chan stays outside.”
“Understood.”
Leanne got off Koma-chan, and I opened the guild door to step inside.
We are currently recruiting. CN/KR/JP Translators/MTLers are welcome!
