- Chapter 6 - Leaving the Shen Family
After dinner, Shen Yunqing took the initiative to get up and clean up the dishes and took them to the kitchen to wash.
I was about to leave, and I didn’t do anything for Shen’s mother. I just helped her wash the dishes to make her happy.
In the three days since she was reborn here, she has felt the care and love from her mother in Shen’s mother. Thinking of what happened in the evening, she felt most guilty towards Shen’s mother.
Mother Shen stood at the kitchen door, watching her daughter busy in the kitchen, with a smile on her face, very kind and gentle.
“Yunqing, Mom is going to talk to your aunt. After you finish washing the dishes, go and play with your sister Chunhua. Don’t stay at home all day. You’ll get bored.”
“Okay.” Shen Yunqing put the dishes and chopsticks into the kitchen cabinet.
After dinner, the whole family went out for a walk.
Shen Yunqing left the kitchen and went straight back to her room.
Looking at the packed luggage on the bed, she thought for a while, then sat down at the desk, took out her diary and pen, and wrote a farewell letter to Mr. and Mrs. Shen.
By the time I finished writing the letter, it was already dark outside.
During the waiting process, Shen Yunqing was very anxious and her heart was beating fast.
Lying in bed, she heard her family members coming back and pushing open the gate.
Mother Shen went to the kitchen to boil water and wash everyone’s feet for a rest.
After washing up, they returned to their rooms.
After taking off her clothes and lying down on the bed, Mother Shen felt strange and couldn’t sleep.
She couldn’t explain clearly what she felt, but she just felt very uncomfortable.
After a tiring day, Father Shen started snoring as soon as he lay down.
It’s the middle of the night.
Shen Yunqing got up from the bed, put on her shoes, picked up her suitcase, tiptoed to open the door and walked out.
When she left the hospital, she found herself in a cold sweat.
The moon was very bright at night, and although the road was a little blurry, it was still clear enough to see.
For fear of alarming the villagers, Shen Yunqing did not turn on the flashlight she had prepared in advance, and walked towards the village entrance under the moonlight.
After walking a short distance, Mother Shen’s voice sounded behind her.
“Yun Qing, are you leaving?”
Shen Yunqing held the strap of the luggage bag tightly in her hand, turned around and faced Shen’s mother. She did not dare to look her in the eye and lowered her eyelashes: “Mom, don’t persuade me.”
Shen’s mother was wearing a single layer of clothes and stood two meters away from her. Her moist eyes were blocked by the blurry moonlight, and her throat was bitter: “Mom won’t persuade you. Send a letter home when you get there. Remember to come back to see mom when you have made it.”
Listening to Shen’s mother’s suppressed crying and telling her words of advice, Shen Yunqing felt very uncomfortable.
“Don’t cry, there’s no one outside to coax you like your mother.” Mother Shen stepped forward to comfort her daughter and handed the thing wrapped in cloth in her hand to her.
Tears welled up in Shen Yunqing’s eyes, and she couldn’t utter a word when facing her.
Mother Shen knew that she was here and her daughter couldn’t leave. With tears in her eyes, she copied her daughter’s current appearance and engraved it in her heart.
I held back my reluctance and turned around to walk towards home.
After Shen’s mother walked away, Shen Yunqing raised her hand to wipe the tears from her cheeks, turned around and continued walking towards the village entrance.
Shen Yunqing walked along the night road for more than two hours according to the original owner’s memory before she finally reached the town.
It was still dark, the streets were empty, and the shop doors were closed.
Shen Yunqing carried her bag and went straight to the station. The Public Security Bureau was nearby and there was an old man on duty guarding the door. It was very dangerous for her, a girl, to wander around the streets in the middle of the night.
The public security in this era is not very good.
There was a long wooden chair at the entrance of the station. Shen Yunqing held the luggage bag in her arms, leaned against the wall and closed her eyes to rest.
