- Chapter 15.1 - Conspiracy (part 1)
After the boy finished speaking, he sneered lightly and left without looking back. Qin Yan was so angry that she was trembling all over.
She raised her hand and bit her fingernail hard, her face alternating between livid and pale. The emotions in her eyes were fluctuating wildly, and her gaze roamed the room aimlessly.
It took a long time before Qin Yan finally calmed down.
At this moment, there was no other emotion on her face—
In stark contrast to the gentle and harmless facade she usually showed her classmates and teachers, a chilling, sinister gleam flickered in Qin Yan’s eyes.
She walked over to the chair and sat down, then took out her phone and made a call.
The phone rang for several seconds before the other party answered.
“What is it that you had to call at this time?”
The voice on the other end was low; it was Gao Hao.
Qin Yan’s eyes turned cold.
Her tone, however, betrayed little emotion. She laughed shortly, a sharp and grating sound.
“Gao Hao, are you planning to burn your bridges with me? But you haven’t even won Qin Ke over yet. Isn’t it a bit premature to cut ties now?”
“..…”
Hearing the anger in Qin Yan’s voice, Gao Hao became a bit timid.
From his tone, he was gently explaining something to the person next to him. Then he moved aside with his phone—
“My aunt, it was my mistake, okay? What do you want?”
Qin Yan’s eyes flickered.
“Find an excuse to get rid of Qin Ke, and then come to the infirmary.”
“Don’t.”
Gao Hao sounded anxious.
“This is my hard-won chance to be alone with her—how can I just throw it away?”
Qin Yan’s voice turned icy.
“Do you want to be alone with her just this once, or do you really want to be with her?”
“I of course…”
“If you want to be with her, you’ll listen to me!” Qin Yan’s eyes glinted, and her tone softened slightly. “I have a plan. Come here, and I’ll tell you.”
After a long hesitation, Gao Hao gritted his teeth.
“Fine. I’ll be right there.”
“…”
Qin Yan hung up the phone with a cold smile.
From a young age, whether in appearance or academic performance, Qin Ke was always better than her. Whenever they stood together, everyone’s eyes were always on Qin Ke—Qin Ke was like a curse, constantly entangling her!
Why was she always better than me in everything!
Even Huo Jun—
In her rage, Qin Yan kicked the chair next to her.
Even the arrogant Huo Jun—the boy she longed for the most—had said he was willing to be Qin Ke’s spare tire!
Since that’s the case.
Then she might as well…destroy Qin Ke.
Qin Yan thought with a ferocious expression.
——
“Is anyone there?”
The door of the infirmary was suddenly knocked on by a somewhat familiar female voice.
Qin Yan was instinctively startled and quickly masked her expression. “Come in,” she said.
Gu Xinqing pushed the door open and walked in.
Seeing Qin Yan, she seemed a bit surprised before she reacted.
“Hello, Senior Qin Yan.”
Qin Yan remembered her. She was a junior from Qin Ke’s class and had often been by Qin Ke’s side.
Thinking this, Qin Yan forced a stiff smile.
“Ah, junior, are you looking for Qin Ke? She has something to do tonight and went to the bulletin board group.”
“Oh, no, no.”
Gu Xinqing quickly waved her hand—
“I left my coat in the infirmary. It’s too cold tonight, so I came to get it.”
Gu Xinqing pointed to the long coat on the empty bed and asked Qin Yan cautiously, “Senior, can I go in and get it?”
“I’ll help you.”
Qin Yan reached for the coat, turned, and handed it to Gu Xinqing.
“Thank you, Senior.” Just before Qin Yan turned back, Gu Xinqing quickly withdrew her gaze from the fallen chair. She waved with a smile, “I’ll head back to the dorm now. Goodbye, Senior!”
“Mm, goodbye.”
“…”
Gu Xinqing turned around, her expression turning puzzled. After stepping out, she couldn’t help but slow her pace…

Qin Yan restlessly paced around the infirmary for over ten minutes before Gao Hao finally arrived.
As soon as Gao Hao entered, Qin Yan quickly turned to him.
“Why are you so late?”
“I had to wait a while after your call before finding a reason to leave, or Qin Ke would get suspicious.” Gao Hao said helplessly.
Qin Yan sneered coldly, “If she were that smart, it would be better.”
Gao Hao didn’t want to argue with Qin Yan, “Alright, I’m here now. Can you tell me the method you mentioned on the phone to help me pursue Qin Ke?”
“…”
Qin Yan’s eyes flickered.
“Do you know Huo Jun likes Qin Ke too?”
Gao Hao’s face changed, “Isn’t… didn’t they say Huo Jun only sees Qin Ke as his god-sister?” (TL: a sister who is not related by blood but is a formal sister created by a personal relationship.)
“With Huo Jun’s personality, do you think he’d have the patience to have a sister if he didn’t like Qin Ke?”
Seeing Gao Hao’s face darken, Qin Yan feigned disdain and snorted.
“What, just mentioning Huo Jun makes you scared, and now you don’t dare to pursue Qin Ke?”
“…What a joke.”
Gao Hao’s face turned grim.
“Besides having some money and being handsome, how is Huo Jun better than me? He’s like a madman, arrogant and unruly. I don’t believe someone as obedient as Qin Ke would like a delinquent like him!”
Qin Yan’s lips curled slightly, hiding her disdain. She merely blinked and casually said,
“For now, I also think Qin Ke prefers you more.”
“——Really?”
Gao Hao’s eyes lit up as he looked at Qin Yan.
Qin Yan said, “Didn’t you see it? Tonight, Huo Jun arrived first, but as soon as you came, Qin Ke left with you—isn’t that the best proof?”
Qin Yan sneered.
“And besides, you’re right about one thing. She’s just a naive, ignorant, goody-two-shoes. Very easy to deceive. She probably can’t wait to stay far away from Huo Jun.”
Gao Hao became excited, “So what’s the method you mentioned?”
“Don’t be impatient, listen to me carefully.” Qin Yan sat down next to him, “Although Qin Ke has a bit of a good impression of you now, it’s far from enough.”
“I can wait!”
Qin Yan’s eyes turned cold, “…” She couldn’t wait.
But she only smiled mockingly, “You can afford to wait, but Huo Jun may not be willing to—have you heard the saying ‘procrastination leads to change’?”
Gao Hao’s eyes darted around, “What do you mean?”
