Tokyo's Most Affectionate - Chapter 50
Kurosawa, Run Quickly
“Miss Runa might be waiting for us ahead. There’s light there,” reassured Kurosawa, soothing her.
The task goal was almost complete; all that remained was to make her cry. If they exited this haunted house, he had no idea how to make Ninomiya, this strong and determined woman, shed tears.
Setting the task aside, having finally come to Jikyu General Hospital, he really wanted to experience it in its entirety.
“Alright.” Thinking that Runa might be ahead, Ninomiya hesitated a bit but nodded.
“Don’t be afraid.”
“Kurosawa, why aren’t you scared at all?”
“Because you’re here.”
Facing this question, Kurosawa glanced slightly sideways at the left arm held in her embrace and smiled.
Ninomiya blushed a bit, pondered for a few seconds, and intentionally misinterpreted the meaning.
“We’re two people, so we’re relatively calm. Runa is alone; she might be frightened. Let’s find her quickly.”
During their conversation, their footsteps didn’t stop.
Although it wasn’t exactly a three-legged race, walking while holding each other and with fear, their pace was quite slow.
Finally, they arrived at the door but didn’t enter directly. Instead, they stood outside, peeking in.
“Ah…”
Just as they peeked in, the groan resounded again, startling both of them. They quickly withdrew their heads, perfectly synchronized.
“So scary, so scary! What do we do? What do we do?”
Ninomiya was frightened, and at this moment, she had completely lost the demeanor and authority of a female teacher.
In this situation, she was just like any girl scared of ghosts.
“Let’s go in. Miss Runa is waiting for us.”
Kurosawa also wanted to escape a bit, but thinking about the task goal, he steeled himself and mustered courage.
As he summoned his courage, he suddenly froze.
Could the task goal be set to provide him with more motivation to do something extra with the girl during the date?
If there were no task goal, he might have turned around.
Upon entering the room, they saw three beds and a patient covered in bandages, resembling someone burned.
Both Kurosawa and Ninomiya watched with bated breath, cautiously advancing. They even held their breath, fearing that the patient might suddenly sit up and startle them.
Fortunately, the patient remained motionless, only occasionally letting out groans, as if telling others that he was still alive but in great pain.
“Is he burned?”
Walking towards the middle of the room, because the patient hadn’t startled them, Ninomiya’s anxious heart slightly calmed down, and curiosity took its place.
She clung to Kurosawa’s arm, pressed against his body, her steps lagging slightly behind, as if hiding behind him, she peeked out her head.
Having someone by her side, supporting her, was enough to keep her spirits from collapsing.
“Probably.” Kurosawa thought of the outer wall of the haunted house, the wall that seemed to have been burned by a massive fire, and nodded.
“Click-clack!”
Just then, a sound of high heels suddenly echoed from behind.
This sound seemed like someone wearing high heels walking out of a room.
“Click-clack, click-clack!”
In the next moment, the footsteps continued in succession, each step getting louder and closer, as if announcing the shortening distance.
“Let’s go.” Kurosawa, hearing the urgent footsteps, was also startled.
In a moment of panic, the two hurriedly moved forward.
“Ah!”
But just a few steps in, Kurosawa heard a painful cry from behind— it was Ninomiya.
“What happened?”
Turning around, Kurosawa saw her standing unsteadily, bending over, taking in deep breaths.
“My foot is sprained.” Chizuru Ninomiya stood on one foot, gently lifting her left foot in high heels, visibly in pain.
“Click-clack, click-clack!”
They were forced to stop, but the rapidly approaching footsteps did not cease.
“It’s over, she’s coming.”
Realizing the situation, already in pain, Ninomiya turned her head anxiously, tightly gripping Kurosawa’s arm, afraid he might leave her.
Task goal: 【Make her cry】 achieved.
【Fun Park Adventure with Ninomiya Chizuru】- Four task goals achieved, task completed, rewards: entry-level instrument – piano (permanent), entry-level drawing skills (permanent).
At the same time, he felt something entering his mind, knowledge about playing the piano and drawing.
“Why now.”
However, Kurosawa was in no mood to carefully absorb this. Instead, he felt a wave of annoyance.
Task completed meant that Ninomiya was crying.
Indeed, her tears were streaming down, but Kurosawa couldn’t find joy in it.
While he did want to make her cry, he never intended for it to happen by causing her harm.
Hearing his irritated words, Ninomiya, already in disarray, felt wronged, and her tears flowed even more.
“I didn’t want this either.”
If possible, she wouldn’t have wanted to sprain her foot either. Unfortunately, wearing high heels and being too anxious just led to this.
Seeing her distressed appearance, Kurosawa was momentarily stunned, realizing that he inadvertently expressed his grievances. He quickly apologized and explained.
“Sorry, I wasn’t talking about you just now. I meant that the ghost appeared too suddenly.”
“Oh…” Ninomiya nodded upon hearing the explanation.
Meanwhile, the footsteps had drawn near, entering the room.
It was a woman dressed as a nurse, with a strange face resembling the nurses from Silent Hill—no facial features, left hand holding a bloodied scalpel, and the right hand gripping an excessively long syringe.
The exposed skin displayed a pale bluish color, with some traces of veins.
Whether it was her appearance, attire, or the weapons in her hands, they all conveyed an extremely dangerous and oppressive aura.
At that moment, Ninomiya suddenly sensed something and wanted to turn around.
“Don’t look back, don’t look.”
However, before she could turn around, Kurosawa’s right hand held her cheek.
“Has she come?” Ninomiya’s voice trembled, feeling a chill down her spine.
The unknown that she couldn’t see only intensified her fear.
“It’s okay. I’ve got everything under control. Can you still walk?” Kurosawa held her cheek, forcing her to look only at him, and spoke softly.
“It hurts.” Hearing his gentle words, Ninomiya didn’t pretend to be strong and shook her head.
With this response, Kurosawa attempted to withdraw his hand from her embrace.
However, Ninomiya refused to let go, holding on tightly, afraid he might abandon her.
“Don’t be afraid. I’ll carry you on my back. Trust me; I won’t leave you behind.”
Sensing her emotions, Kurosawa reassured her.
Realizing his intentions, Ninomiya no longer resisted, nodded, and slowly released her grip.
As he pulled his arm from her embrace, Kurosawa glanced at the nurse and then bent down.
Without waiting for Kurosawa to say anything, Ninomiya hurriedly climbed onto his back, unwilling to let go.
In such a frightening place, she didn’t want to be alone and needed to hold onto something.
“Let’s go.”
With his hands supporting her thighs, Kurosawa lifted her onto his back and stood up.
In the next moment, he took a step forward and began walking.
Clinging to his broad and sturdy back, Ninomiya, with her feet off the ground, felt an overwhelming sense of security.
As they were about to leave the room, she couldn’t help but look back and saw the bizarre-looking nurse, along with the ominous extra-long syringe and the bloodied scalpel.
Although she found the ghost terrifying upon discovery,Ninomiya realized that the distance between them and the ghost, as Kurosawa moved forward, increased, and suddenly it didn’t seem so frightening.
“…”
At that moment, the nurse, seeing them finally moving, silently took a step and began to chase.
However, even with a person on his back, Kurosawa’s speed remained fast, and the distance grew larger.
“Haha.” Seeing that she was about to be left behind, Ninomiya’s previously upset mood due to her sprained foot suddenly improved.
“Ah!”
Upon hearing her laughter, the ghost nurse became agitated, emitting a high-pitched scream. Instead of briskly pursuing, she started to run.
“Kurosawa, she’s gone mad, run!”
Realizing that the ghost had gone berserk, Ninomiya suddenly became scared and urged him.
“Okay.”
Hearing her laughter and the crazed scream, Kurosawa’s mouth curved into a smile, and he started running.
