Promise

After Kurosawa demonstrated once, it sparked Ichinose’s enthusiasm to learn surfing.

The afternoon became quite relaxed.

Unlike swimming, the process of learning to surf is relatively easy, as one can lie on the surfboard.

The atmosphere of hands-on teaching was also very good.

As Ichinose lay on the surfboard, her slender and graceful figure, as well as her long and beautiful legs, made the scene quite pleasant.

Kurosawa, teaching on the side while admiring, was quite enjoying himself.

“Hikaru-kun, am I paddling correctly?”

Ichinose was learning with great enthusiasm, her slender arms gliding through the water as she asked.

“Yes, you’re doing great. Practice a bit more, and I’ll teach you how to stand up. Let’s aim to catch a few waves today,” Kurosawa nodded.

Although he couldn’t continue surfing, the lessons were still interesting.

Teaching someone to surf was much more enjoyable than teaching academics.

In terms of sports, perhaps due to her fitness, Ichinose had good physical strength, decent coordination, and strong flexibility.

More than an hour later, all the basic surfing techniques were mastered.

“Your physical foundation is quite good,” praised Kurosawa, although he had never taught anyone before and didn’t know whether this progress was considered fast or slow.

When praising others, it is essential to be subtle and consider the timing and occasion.

“It’s because I usually engage in fitness activities, and I also practice yoga and swimming,” explained Ichinose, pleased with the compliment.

“You also practice yoga?” Kurosawa was somewhat surprised; this was something he hadn’t heard before.

“Just to maintain my posture,” Ichinose clarified.

“No wonder your figure is so impressive; even the way you rise from your waist seems effortless,” Kurosawa remarked as he glanced at her waist.

It had to be said, Ichinose’s waist was truly beautiful; just based on that waist alone, she could captivate countless men without even trying.

“Hikaru-kun’s physique is the real deal.”

This was the result of long-term accumulation. Ichinose was delighted with the praise, squinting her eyes and smiling happily.

Although she often received compliments for her figure at school, she didn’t feel much about it. 

However, now, due to practicing a certain sport, being praised by Kurosawa made her feel that it was the result of the sweat and effort she put in, and she was quite satisfied.

“By the way, Hikaru-kun, which gym do you go to?”

Suddenly, Ichinose remembered something and asked.

If possible, she also wanted to go to the gym with Kurosawa, which would give them more time together.

“I don’t go to the gym; I train at home.”

However, as good as her intentions were, Kurosawa couldn’t fulfill her wish.

“You’ve achieved this at home?”

“What’s wrong?”

“Would you like to come to the gym I usually go to? With equipment, it would be even better for training.”

“There’s too many people at the gym. When I work out, I prefer being alone in a quiet environment.”

“Alright.” Sensing his gentle refusal, Ichinose felt a bit disappointed but didn’t insist.

“Okay, we’ve covered the basic techniques; it’s time to give surfing a try,” Kurosawa said immediately, noticing her slight unhappiness.

“Mm-hmm.”

Realizing that it was time to start surfing, Ichinose nodded, her attention instantly captivated.

After practicing for a little over an hour, though brief, it was time to test their achievements.

Before long, they moved to a new location.

“We’re this close?” Ichinose turned back and looked at the shore, feeling somewhat surprised.

The distance from the shore here was at most around fifty meters, noticeably different from the at least two hundred meters away where Kurosawa was.

“You’re still a beginner; do you really want to ride the big waves so soon? Try catching a wave first before aiming for the giants,” Kurosawa teased, finding it amusing that she was eager to run even before mastering the basics.

“Hehe~” 

Ichinose chuckled, realizing she might have set her sights too high and used laughter to conceal her nervousness.

Before long, a wave approached.

“Wow!”

Paddling and catching the wave, even though she didn’t stand up but remained lying on the board, Ichinose was still thrilled.

This experience was entirely different from swimming.

Paddling and searching for waves, riding them took more than half an hour. When Ichinose successfully stood up on the surfboard, she was filled with joy and a sense of accomplishment.

After she learned to surf, Kurosawa joined her in the experience.

Although the waves were not massive, more on the smaller side, they still had a lot of fun.

During this time, feeling exhausted, they went back to the shore and played a game of smashing the watermelon, before also eating some food. 

Until the twilight gloom bathed the beach in its dim light, the two of them made their way ashore together.

“I’m so tired, but it feels so good.”

After reaching the shore, Ichinose placed the surfboard on the ground, waved her hands, feeling utterly exhausted. It was much more tiring than the morning swim.

“That’s good.”

Seeing her enjoy herself wholeheartedly, Kurosawa was also content.

“Hikaru-kun, what are we going to do next?”

Stretching her body, Ichinose asked curiously.

“Let’s take a shower and get ready to head back to Tokyo.”

“So soon?”

Realizing they were heading back to Tokyo, Ichinose was suddenly surprised.

“The sun is about to set; it’s already 6 o’clock, it’s not that early.”

Although Kurosawa didn’t have a phone with him, he estimated the time based on the position of the sun.

“It’s indeed not early.”

Knowing that it was already 6 o’clock, Ichinose thought it was about time to return to Tokyo and nodded.

“Let’s freshen up first, and after returning to Tokyo, we can grab something to eat.”

Seeing that she was still eager and didn’t want the date to end just yet, Kurosawa consoled her.

“Sure.” 

Learning that they would have dinner together, Ichinose suddenly felt invigorated.

She originally thought they would part ways upon returning to Tokyo, but with one more meal, it meant the day wasn’t over yet.

Carrying their surfboards, they first went to the lockers to retrieve their phones, then made a trip to the shop to return the surfboards, and finally headed to the bathhouse.

After swimming in the sea, not taking a shower would be uncomfortable with the sticky feeling on their bodies.

Before long, they changed into their clean clothes from the morning.

“Are we going now?”

About to leave the beach, Ichinose looked back at the coastline, feeling a bit reluctant to leave.

She had never imagined that playing at the beach could be so much fun.

When she was a child, she had been to the beach with her parents and had a great time, but it couldn’t compare to the joy she felt now.

“You’re not satisfied?”

Seeing her lingering a bit, Kurosawa asked.

“I’m very satisfied. It’s just that I find it so interesting to be at the beach with Hikaru-kin,” Ichinose shook her head and exclaimed.

“I feel the same. It’s fun being with you.”

“Will we come here again in the future?”

“Definitely.”

Kurosawa nodded after thinking for a moment, seeing that she wanted to come back again.

He wasn’t sure what the location for the system’s dating task would be like. However, even if there were no dating tasks, if he had the time, he wanted to come again with Ichinose.

By then, they wouldn’t need to worry about teaching, they could just surf together and have fun.

“Mm-mm.”

Hearing this commitment, Ichinose suddenly felt content.

“Next time, don’t forget the surfing skills you learned today.”

Teasingly, Kurosawa remarked as he saw her smiling face.

“Do I look forgetful to Hikaru-kun?”

“Because you seem a bit clumsy.”

“Not at all~”

Ichinose stomped her foot, pouted, took a few steps, caught up, and naturally hugged his arm.

Kurosawa tilted his head slightly, observing her actions, and just smiled without saying much.
