- Chapter 22 - Sharing the Same Bed Along With Late Night Chats
Xiao Zhihan had occupied the master bedroom, and Hang Sizhou had to move to the second bedroom.
The second bedroom was rarely occupied. Fortunately, it had been ventilated well and even the mattress has been changed in the past two days.
So, it was okay to sleep there.
Hang Sizhou turned over a few times, folded the two pillows together, and leaned on them comfortably.
He grabbed his phone and was about to continue watching his variety shows when the door was pushed open from the outside. Xiao Hang walked in holding a cup.
He placed the quilt on the other side of the bed and sat down. It looked as if he was going to sleep here.
Hang Sizhou: “Won’t you sleep with Hanhan?”
Xiao Hang: “No. She has slept by herself since she was a child.”
Hang Sizhou reluctantly took out a pillow from behind his head and threw it over to Xiao Han.
Without the pillow, nothing felt right to him.
Hang Sizhou moved around but couldn’t find a comfortable position.
Probably because he moved too much, Xiao Hang, who was looking at his phone, turned around and asked, “Does your butt still hurt?”
Just as Xiao Han said it, Hang Sizhou immediately felt the burning pain in his butt where he had just fallen down.
“Of course, it hurts a lot! How can it not? Why don’t you go and see for yourself?”
Xiao Hang obediently leaned over.
Hang Sizhou immediately shrank back, attempting to maintain a comfortable distance, his face full of alertness: “What are you doing?”
Xiao Hang: “Knead it for you.”
“Go and knead the butt of your sister!”
Hang Sizhou lay flat with his hands on his buttocks, staring at Xiao Hang with his eyes full of vigilance, as if to say: ‘Don’t think I don’t know what you’re thinking, you idiot!’
Xiao Hang smiled and picked up his phone once again.
“I really have no idea how I managed to bear it earlier…” Hang Sizhou couldn’t help but mutter to himself.
“What?”
The man was still looking at his phone. From Hang Sizhou’s position, he could see that there was a document displayed on the screen. Maybe he was still dealing with some work matters.
“Nothing.”
Hang Sizhou put his hands behind his head, his eyes drifted into the air, and then returned to Xiao Hang’s face after looking at the ceiling for a while.
Xiao Hang turned off the bright light in the room, leaving only the night light switched on.
The light was dark and warm, falling on the man’s face, illuminating his smooth forehead, straight bridge of his nose, and clear-cut thin lip lines.
Even though so many years had passed, Xiao Hang had grown from a boy to a mature man, but his cold eyebrows and commanding temperament had not changed much from before.
As if perceiving his gaze, the man raised his eyelids.
Their eyes briefly met, and as always, Hang Sizhou moved his eyes away first.
Xiao Hang put down his phone and leaned over to him: “Back then, why didn’t you want me to hold the umbrella for you?”
Hang Sizhou was startled.
He thought that the incident from the evening was over, but he hadn’t expected Xiao Hang to bring it up once again.
The man looked at him, his brows getting darker and darker.
The air was a little hot, and Hang Sizhou licked his lips involuntarily.
“What about you? Why didn’t you want my umbrella back then?”
“Back when?” Xiao Hang looked at him, his eyes were calm and deep, as if they could suck people in.
Hang Sizhou felt his throat was dry inexplicably: “Back when we first met at the cram school.”
Xiao Hang frowned: “Actually, that wasn’t the first time we met.”
“Ah?”
“And I had my umbrella in my bag that day. I just didn’t want to take it out.”
Hang Sizhou was immediately attracted by Xiao Hang’s last sentence. He clicked his tongue: “It was raining so heavily, why didn’t you want to hold an umbrella? Did you want to show off?”
“Just like you, I was enjoying the rain.”
Hang Sizhou: “…”
After a while, Xiao Hang said: “The day when we met for the first time, I had just received the news that my father had gone missing.”
Hang Sizhou opened his mouth.
He knew few things about Xiao Hang’s family. One of them was that his father was a policeman in the anti-narcotics department who passed away later.
But many of the details were unclear.
Xiao Hang raised his eyes, his dark eyes reflected him: “So, I didn’t want your umbrella that day. I just wanted to calm down.”
It took Hang Sizhou a while to come back to his senses.
He coughed in an extremely unnatural manner, and then gave his reason: “I just want some silence.”
But compared to Xiao Hang, his own reason was very untenable.
Fortunately, Xiao Hang did not continue to inquire about it.
But he didn’t speak either. The atmosphere in the room became inexplicably awkward.
Hang Sizhou scratched his head and remembered something he had thought about before.
He raised three fingers: “The recording will start tomorrow. Let’s make a three-conditions agreement first.”
There was some interest in Xiao Hang’s eyes: “Huh?”
Hang Sizhou: “There will be cameras in the show. If you want to keep up your character, then don’t mess with me, don’t call me wife and don’t do anything unnecessary. Anyway, we must try our best to play Xiao Zhihan’s supporting roles. The goal is just to let her have fun.”
“OK.”
Xiao Hang had always had big ideas, and it was difficult for anyone to persuade him. Hang Sizhou stated his conditions without holding much hope.
Unexpectedly, Xiao Hang agreed quickly.
‘Damn it, why is this guy so easy to talk to today?’
“But…” Xiao Hang said, “You also have to agree to my request.”
‘Sure enough, he still had a backup plan.’
Hang Zhou curled his lips and said, “Tell me.”
Xiao Hang looked at him seriously: “Don’t cry.”
Hang Sizhou opened his mouth.
Recalling how he had cried in the car, Hang Sizhou’s face felt hot.
If Xiao Hang wanted him to stop crying, then he could have just said so. It wasn’t like he was the kind of person who loved to cry?
Hang Sizhou settled into the bed and said firmly, while ignoring the heat on his face: “Don’t worry, even if the sky falls in the future, I won’t cry anymore.”
“That’s for the best,” Xiao Hang turned off the bedside lamp and lay down. His lips curved and he said in a drawl, “Because you look really ugly when you cry.”
Hang Sizhou: “…”
‘Fuck you, uncle.’
Hang Sizhou: “If you think I’m ugly, then stay away from me!”
Xiao Hang: “…Oh.”
As a response, Xiao Hang really moved to the other side.
If it weren’t for the fear of disturbing people at night, Hang Sizhou would have really wanted to kick Xiao Hang off the bed.
Anyone would be tired after working hard all night.
Not long afterwards, Hang Sizhou fell into a deep sleep. But even in a deep sleep, he was still very restless, turning left and right without stopping.
Soon, Hang Sizhou rolled over to the other side of the bed and put his head into the arms of the person next to him.
Like a fish that had found the shore, Hang Sizhou leaned against Xiao Hang and gradually became motionless.
At that very moment, the man who had been sleeping opened his eyes slightly and half-hugged the person into his arms.
In the tranquil night, the young man slept peacefully, with the plump lip beads on his slightly raised upper lip, rising and falling slightly with his breathing.
Raising his hand to brush the other person’s soft forehead, Xiao Hang tightened his arms, closed his eyes, and his breathing became heavier.

With a good night’s sleep, Hang Sizhou sat up from the bed, he rarely had a headache.
It was quiet outside with no sound at all.
Hang Sizhou grabbed his cell phone. Xiao Hang had sent him a message half an hour ago, saying that he would be accompanying Xiao Zhihan to go shopping.
It just so happened that Hang Sizhou also had his own affairs to attend to.
