Chapter 11: What a Peculiar Little Thing

It was already evening.

Su Bao walked along the campus path towards the auditorium.

On the way, she saw someone holding a big bag of spicy strips, the aroma wafting into her nose from afar.

So she quietly reached into her pocket, confirming she had her meal card.

With that, she veered off the path and headed to the store, buying the spicy strips she had seen earlier, along with some candy.

Munching on the spicy strips, she continued towards the auditorium.

Da Hei perched on her shoulder, flapping its wings, advising earnestly, “Bao, you still have three souls sealed, and you occupying someone else’s body. You need to absorb ghost energy, incense, or spiritual energy. Eating this stuff won’t help.”

“It’s a soulless shell, not a body,” Su Bao stubbornly corrected.

Da Hei sighed, “Alright, a soulless shell.”

Su Bao continued, “I haven’t seen any ghosts.”

“And no one is offering me incense.”

“Absorbing spiritual energy requires jade or spirit stones, which I don’t have.”

Su Bao, the little stoic, glanced at the moon peeking out, “I have nothing, just a meal card. When I see others eating, I feel hungry. Da Hei, I was locked in a glass jar for so long, never eating anything. Now, when I see people eating, I want to eat too. What should I do?”

Da Hei felt a pang of sympathy.

It extended its wing, patting Su Bao’s head.

“It’s not that you can’t eat, but we need to focus on the important stuff. Otherwise, if that old monster catches up and takes you back, it’ll be worse than before.”

As Da Hei finished speaking.

Su Bao’s small frame involuntarily shivered.

It was a fear from her soul; she had died at the hands of that old monster, and even hearing his name made her panic.

After picking up the camouflage uniform needed for the next day’s military training from the auditorium, Su Bao retraced her steps.

She ate a bag of spicy strips and three candies along the way, then ran into Fu Lang.

Fu Lang had grown up surrounded by women. Ask him what the woman he slept with the night before looked like, and he wouldn’t remember.

But Su Bao, he remembered clearly!

After all, every woman he met before wanted to flirt with him.

But when she stared unblinkingly at someone, those cat-like eyes…

Were downright creepy!

Fu Lang, under Su Bao’s intense gaze, finally swallowed nervously, feeling a bit overwhelmed.

“Junior, you…” Even if you’re not interested, don’t stare at me so eerily!

Just then, Su Bao abruptly interrupted Fu Lang…

“You know, other people can’t see Da Hei on my shoulder.”
