With Simon’s magic forming a platform beneath us, we crossed from the belly of the defeated undersea fish back to where everyone was waiting.

“Kuna-chan, thank goodness!”

Rouge pulled me into a tight hug, whispering “I’m so glad, I’m so glad…” over and over again.

The others looked at me too, visibly relieved.

“Ruuuuuu!”

Charging at me full-force was Lulu. She pressed her fluffy body against mine, rubbing up close while letting out anxious little ruu ruu cries.
She must’ve been really worried.

“I’m sorry, Lulu… I made you worry again…”

“Ruuuuu…”

She gently thumped her soft paws against my chest—clearly still upset.

“I’m sorry… everyone. Really.”

I gave a quick bow of apology. Maki let out a long sigh.

“Jeez! You really scared us. You know you’re not supposed to just go running off like that!”

“S-sorry… Did anyone get hurt?”

“We’re fine. But you, Kuna-san, pulling something that bold out of nowhere? I never would’ve expected it!”

Hearing that made me feel a little embarrassed.

“What are you talking about? She’s always doing crazy stuff like that,” Kiril said with an exasperated shake of his head.

“Why do you always charge off on your own?”

“Uugh…”

“Kuna, you need to trust us more.”

Gear’s face was serious as he said that. He was right. Instead of rushing off alone, I should’ve believed in everyone—and relied on them.

“Seriously, lean on us more. I’m sure everyone feels the same way,” he added.

“If you ever reach out for help, no matter the situation—we’ll always be there,” Kiril said, echoing his words.

Hearing them scold me like that, I bowed my head deeply and shouted, “I’m sorry!!”
But… even as they lectured me, I could feel the warmth in their voices.
They were doing it because they truly cared.
And maybe… just a little… that made me happy.

“Well, anyway, as long as Kuna-chan’s safe, that’s all that matters! All’s well that ends well, right? Still, I gotta say—Kuna-chan, you’ve got some pretty impressive reflexes!”

As I kept bowing in apology, Gant said that with a look of admiration.

Come to think of it, Kiril said something similar during the whole Mokomott explosion incident…

“I’d like to believe this won’t happen again… but if it does, please rely on us next time, okay?”

Simon gave me a gentle reminder, and I nodded with a small shoboon sigh.
The Mokomotts fluttered down from the sky and perched on my head and shoulders.
Since evolving, they felt just a bit lighter—maybe it was my imagination.

“Pii.”

“Pyururu.”

“Pyui!”

All three let out a cheerful chorus in perfect harmony.
Hearing their song, everyone seemed to relax—like the tension had finally melted away.
Smiles spread across their faces.
Thank goodness.
Looks like they forgave me.

“Well, if no one’s hurt, I guess it’s all fine,” Kiril said as he scratched his head roughly.

“Fluffy and cute!”
“I want a fluffy one toooo!”

MuiMui and MaiMai were zipping around in the air, chasing after the fluffy Mokomotts.
Pipi and the others let out playful cries as they darted away, trying to escape.

“I’m so glad you’re okay, Kuna-chan.”

Stella gave me a wink, then pulled me into her soft, ample chest with a boof.

“Wah—!?”

“If Kuna-chan ever got hurt, just imagine how angry Ruri and the others would be.”

“!”

That’s right…
We actually completed the quest properly.
Which means… we can go home now, right?

“Let’s head back to the surface,” Gier said.

Simon and the others all nodded in agreement.

“Kuna, no matter what else—well done. Mission accomplished. And this was an S-rank request, no less.”

“!”

“In that case… how about a nice celebration party when we get back?”

“A party~!”

“Party time~!”

Everyone erupted in cheers.
A lot had happened, but somehow—we were all safe, and we were heading home.

Holding the fluffy little ones close to my chest, I smiled.

“…Yes!”

And just like that—
My very first adventure came to a close.
