Hearing that, I felt a brief relief. I had rushed here on the fastest route, fearing that the event had been moved up and that Siluria might even try to kill herself earlier than expected. Even a slight delay would have cost Siluria her life.

When I stepped into the warehouse, I saw only men in black; neither Tilti nor Siluria was there. I was really worried.
But I couldn’t be completely happy about the situation. Siluria seemed to have injured her leg, and Tilti was lying nearby, unconscious. I could still feel that Tilti was alive, but her injuries were clear.

Deep inside, anger began to well up. I was furious at the man in front of me who had hurt Tilti and Siluria, angry at the retainers who had led things to this, and most of all—angry at myself for knowing how the game was supposed to go and yet failing to stop it, putting Tilti in danger.

“I know I was only a pawn in this fight, and I understand that. But if you dare lay a hand on my dear Tilti, I won’t show any mercy!! I will smash everything you hold dear!!”

I remembered seeing something like that in the game—a forbidden item called a “cursed tool” that multiplied its user’s power many times over but drove them into a berserk state that destroyed everything around them. Even small-time thugs would become as strong as mid-bosses with it. It was a terribly troublesome item. But… what of it?

“I was the one who defeated you. You can hate me all you want, but if you try to harm my dear Tilti, I won’t hesitate. I will cut you down right here!”

As Dogora roared, countless black flames appeared around him and attacked me all at once. I moved to dodge them and slashed with my sword to cut them away.
While I was trying to block his attacks and look for an opening, I saw Dogora smirking in a creepy way. I instantly understood his plan, so I turned on my heel and rushed back to my original position.

“Drop dead!!”

“Take this…!! Ice Wolf Flash!!”

I barely managed to cut away the black flames aimed at Tilti and Siluria with my sword. After that, I continued to block all the black flames coming from every direction with my single sword.

“You damn bastard!! Aren’t you supposed to fight me? Why are you targeting Tilti and the others?!”

“Hahahaha!! Of course, it is that way! It will surely kill you. I already hurt you once… So don’t let your guard down; I will use every move I have to kill you!!”

“Damn it…!!”

It wasn’t good; with Dogora keeping so much distance, it was hard to close in for a strike. Although my “Black Dragon Flame Slash” could hit targets a little far away, Dogora kept a careful distance, attacking Tilti and the others from the very limit of his spell’s range.

At that moment, I heard Siluria’s voice from behind. Without turning around, I kept my focus on cutting down the incoming fireballs with my sword, listening only to her words.

“Tilti, I… will protect you! So, don’t worry… go ahead!!”

I knew deep down that Siluria understood she could not really protect them all by herself. Her body shook, and the way she clutched unconscious Tilti looked as if she was declaring that she would use her own body as a shield.

That thought cooled my mind. If I could not move from this position to protect Tilti, then I must simply cut down Dogora from where I stood.

“It’s okay, Siluria. I told you I would protect you.”

I unleashed my Black Dragon Flame Slash, a scorching strike that blocked Dogora’s gaze for a brief moment. I had already failed this technique once, so I had to focus hard to make it work properly.

“Hah, you insolent punk!! Did you really think that a little dizziness could stop my attack?!”

From behind the flames, I heard Dogora’s mocking laughter. His laughter sounded a bit off… it must be the side effects of his cursed tool. That cursed tool gives its user great power at the cost of their reason and humanity, eventually turning them into a full magic beast. I could see that the transformation had begun.

“I will burn you all away!!”

When the wall of flame I created cleared, Dogora unleashed a spell that was like a jet-black sun. As he released all his power, his body began to change. His skin turned black and scales appeared. His eyes widened like those of a cat, with the white part turning yellow, and two horns started to grow from his head.
He had fallen from a man into a magic beast—a “demon man.”

Without noticing his own transformation, Dogora continued with a delighted smile as he cast his spell.

“If you can defend yourself, I won’t let you live! If you try to hurt my dear Tilti, I will not spare you!”

My words barely reached him before I shouted:
“You don’t know what it means to face me! A brother who protects his little sister is invincible!”

In that moment, everything around me froze. Dogora’s eyes widened in disbelief. I slowly re-sheathed my sword.

“Majin-ryu Sword Art, Form Three—”

I watched as the dark sun split, and slowly, it broke into two and disappeared. At the same time, a deep slash appeared across Dogora’s body—from the top of his head to his crotch.

“Tenkisen!!”

Drawing on the images of the evil Tilti from my past life and the kind, angel-like Tilti I now know, I combined these two images into a new technique. This new move crossed space and became light, slicing both the dark sun and the fallen demon man into pieces.

With that, I managed to repel the threat that had attacked us once again.
