Chapter 2 – A Major Miscalculation as a Result of Overdoing It
Well, it was really a shock.
I thought I lost consciousness after being buried under all the goods I collected for the sake of collection, but I had become a 7 years old villainous princess, Eldia Euclair.
The reason I knew at once was because the inside of the mansion was a familiar background image.
It was before the main story started but I instantly went to see if my biases existed.
Well, I wasn’t myself then due to the joy of being in the same world as my biases, the dread of changing into another person, and the agitation of being a villainous princess. It can be described as youthful enthusiasm, I guess.
In the RPG game ‘Emotion Fantasy’, after the main character, Licht (name can be changed), the hero, and Julia, the saintess, meet, they investigate an anomaly in the world where demons connected to the demon world are running amok. And so, they go on a journey with their friends to defeat the demon god who is the cause of that anomaly.
The main characters were a matter of course but all the characters were amazing. I got so addicted to the game to the point of whaling, participating in real-life events as well as buying goods.
Yes, so I knew.
I knew how important Eldia, the villainous princess I had become, was to the story.
As the daughter of the Marquis Euclair, she is deeply involved with the hero and the saintess in the early stages of the game, giving them advice and support like a kind and compassionate mother.
However, behind the scenes, she captured demi-humans and used them as materials for magical experiments, killing civilians on a whim and enjoying the spectacle of it all. She trampled over those who indulged in pleasure with a benevolent smile and lent a hand to criminals just because they seemed interesting. She is a poisonous flower, preying on all the vices of the world.
As the so-called confirmed evil character of the game, at first glance, she seemed to be nothing more than a helpful character who would later join the party, so when she turned up to be the last boss of the early stages, players, who felt betrayed, voiced their vindictive feelings. I was also one of them.
That being said, the numerous incidents she caused strengthened the bond between the hero, the saintess, and the party.
In short, without her, there will be no chance for the characters to become stronger at all.
That is to say, my biases will lose to the demon god.
For me who loved this world and its characters, naturally, I decided to become the villainous princess in order to make my biases shine.
Fortunately, I had the timeline in my head thanks to the endless repeats.
So, I did my best to play the villainess despite it being an unfamiliar concept in order to train my biases at least to the point of not dying.
I did it in a healthy and fair manner!
As a result of my tearful efforts, history went on as written, and they showed such unity that I wept with honor.
But, only one thing. There was that one thing that inevitably deviated from the original story.
In the carriage on the way home, I exploded on the cushion with the feelings I had suppressed until this moment.
“Ah—–h! My biases were so incredibly precious! Isn’t Julia chan super cute? Isn’t she so sweet? She’s too much of an angel to try to believe in me even though I’m the so-called villainous princess….. The hero is also really something. I mean, I’ve enjoyed his body as a player more or less but his words and actions just scream ikemen, you know. As expected, the main character is awesome, he got my heart racing. What’s more, he has interactions with most of the characters he can make friends with at this point in time. It can’t even be called a communication cheat anymore. Also, William and Anson were glaring at me so harshly but it just meant they were thinking for the saintess and the hero so no hard feelings… 3D bias is dangerous. Really dangerous” (*Ikemen=handsome guy)
“……Eldia sama”
I was lounging around in my comfortable seat when Albert called out to me and I finally put my vigor to rest.
He was across from me, looking fed up. His eyes were cold, not just a little.
“Your bias frenzy is as ever”
“Of course! I mean, I won’t be able to show my face around for a while. I thought I should enjoy it to the fullest”
“……And you say those feelings aren’t romantic, I don’t understand it very well”
Fangirling isn’t about romantic feelings. I think.
Leaving that aside for now, Al’s cut wound is still as it is.
“More than that, Al, let’s treat your wound. Rather, I would’ve been able to dodge that easily so why did you even cover for me?”
“How could an ordinary attendant not get wounded there? And I don’t have any intentions to have your hands dirtied”
Sighing, Albert briskly opened the first aid kit under his seat and promptly took off his jacket and shirt.
I gasped when I saw his abdomen, which showed muscles so well defined beyond imagination below his clothes.
“W-Why’re you suddenly taking your clothes off!? Put those beautiful abs away! They’re such a sight for sore eyes! Seeing it in real life is too stimulating”
“You won’t even let me tend to my wounds?”
“That’s not it, I mean, you’ll get better if you drink my blood, won’t you? Because you’re a dhampir!”
He was born between a vampire and a human, and for various reasons, drinking blood could dramatically increase his ability to heal. This time, with a single skin cut, that wound would heal in less than a night.
When I said this while averting my face so as not to look at Albert, he frowned, as if he was having trouble understanding.
“Isn’t your judgment kind of messed up to let a man suck your blood just so you don’t see his body?”
“Don’t worry, I’m only crazy for my biases. Rather, only for you. Really, give me a break”
I said earnestly, and after a hefty sigh, I heard the sound of clothes brushing against me.
“I know. It’s because I’m your number one bias in the ‘game’, isn’t it?”
“It’s as you said, Albert Bennett. Why are you even working as my attendant?”
“You know that better than anyone and yet”
It is also lovely to hear the slight hint of disgust and coldness in his voice.
That’s right, I know, this is the largest case on the list to ponder about how it’s become like this ever since I’ve come here!
Yes, Albert Bennett is my number one bias.
26 years old in the original story. He has black hair down to his collar, purple eyes hidden by long bangs, and a beautiful appearance that is gender-neutral yet somehow masculine.
A skilled dhampir assassin, a character who was immensely popular amongst the players including the sad past he carried with him.
Dhampirs in this world are essentially nothing more than beings with high physical abilities.
However, he has the ability to increase his physical ability and self-healing power tremendously through the act of blood-sucking.
This ability was the result of the experiments conducted on him by a criminal organization that picked him up in the past.
Since his abduction from a slum as a child, he had been tortured and trained in assassination techniques in the name of experimentation, but he still spent time with the fellow children there while encouraging each other.
Consequently, when he learned that his friends had already been disposed of while he was on a mission, he used all of his skills to destroy the criminal organization.
After that, he decided to not make anyone close to him anymore and became a freelance assassin who would accept any killing request for an exorbitant fee.
That should’ve been the case but when he was confronted with the saintess and the hero’s honest feelings, he was slightly moved and lent a hand in their journey to defeat the demon god.
He was the solitary existence who did not clearly join the party and stubbornly persisted on his own but he was also the one to snatch the delicious part of saving the main cast when they were in desperate need of power.
Yes, even at the garden party, Albert was a supporting character on the side of the hero and the saintess, presenting evidence of Eldia’s involvement in the crimes.
But for some reason, Albert stayed by me, who was supposed to be the villainess, as an attendant.
No, it might’ve been because I recruited him.
The time when my consciousness entered Eldia was before the main story started, which meant I could see the childhood of my biases.
Moreover, the base of the criminal organization Albert was trapped in was, to my surprise, in the same town as the residence I lived in.
As I had just reincarnated, I was not in the right state of mind, and so I went into the backstreets and found myself right in the middle of him destroying the organization.
I saw Albert (my bias), younger than on the screen, standing there with a look of deep despair and emptiness, with his wounds still fresh, and I understood that this was reality.
Knowing the despair my bias would experience in the future, I couldn’t bear to leave him as he was.
I snapped and brought Albert home as fast as I could and made him stay by treating his wounds and declaring that I would employ him at the mansion until I was satisfied.
He was 16 years old at the time. He was a beautiful boy who stood out with the slenderness characteristic of a growing boy, and I was not ashamed to show him anywhere I went.
Fufufu, it was an act that wouldn’t have been allowed if I didn’t look like a 7 year old on the outside.
Really, genuinely. It was just an impulse.
Albert preferred to be alone and didn’t want to belong to any organization anymore, so I thought he would leave on his own once his wounds were healed.
Despite this, he quickly honed his skills as a servant and became a steward of the Euclair family, and although he didn’t seem to realize that I was a reincarnated person…but he even realized on his own that I was an adult and that I could see the future of this world to some extent.
I was startled. My soul flew away when he asked me, “Is the word ‘bias’ a proper noun for an important person?” with a composed expression on his face.
Well, because of that, Albert did not become an excellent assassin but became a super attendant who helped me with many of the ‘stepping stones for my biases’.
Ten years have passed but he is still with me now.
We are currently recruiting. CN/KR/JP Translators/MTLers are welcome!
