- Chapter 8 - Crown of Blood! The King’s Command Cannot Be Defied!
The rampaging melody caused everyone’s eardrums to swell painfully. The invasive notes forcefully took control of five pet beasts, one of which was Wang Hongxi’s Blazing Gold Lion!
“Roar!”
Wang Hongxi was startled to discover that his connection with the Blazing Gold Lion had suddenly been severed!
The lion’s eyes glowed a deep crimson, as if entirely under someone else’s control. Without warning, it rammed into Wang Hongxi, sending him flying!
“Pfft!” Wang Hongxi spat out a mouthful of foam as he was launched through the air, hurtling toward Su Yu.
Su Yu didn’t hesitate. The moment Wang Hongxi’s body came flying toward him, Su Yu raised his right arm and drove his elbow straight into Wang Hongxi’s face with brutal precision!
“Bang!”
Blood splattered everywhere, flowing profusely!
Wang Hongxi crashed to the ground like a broken kite. Seven of his teeth were shattered in the impact, and the searing pain cut straight to his soul!
Wailing in agony, Wang Hongxi screamed, “Argh! Kill him for me!!”
Song Qi was taken aback. “He’s Transcendence-ranked! Damn it, don’t engage him one-on-one! Old Wang, are you okay?”
Jiang Ying stood frozen, utterly shocked. Her Sunflower pet beast had no effect on Alia whatsoever. Instead, Alia thrived under the sunlight, unleashing her power without restraint.
It was as if Jiang Ying herself was the one shrouded in shadow, while Alia basked in a radiant light she could never hope to reach.
Outside the simulated lair, on Rose Plaza, the gathered students rapidly changed their stance.
“Damn it! Is that Wang guy suicidal? He actually dared to demand Alia as his pet beast?”
“That elbow strike was so satisfying! An absolute knockout!”
“No wonder he’s so confident—he secretly advanced to the Transcendence Realm, didn’t he?”
“With Alia by his side, it’s definitely possible.”
“But there are still a hundred of them. It’s going to be incredibly tough. Just having the advantage of rank won’t let him take on so many opponents.”
In their eyes, Alia was an untouchable genius, someone they would never allow to be defiled. The fact that Wang Hongxi had dared to behave so brazenly had instantly shifted favor to Su Yu.
However, they weren’t wrong. Facing a hundred opponents was virtually impossible for a low-rank Beastmaster!
In reality, even Alia was struggling to keep up.
She fought like a Valkyrie on the battlefield, condensing blood into weapons and shields. Flames and frost from the enemy beasts were unable to penetrate her defenses, yet she had to divide her focus to protect Su Yu. Her counterattacks, though limited, weakened the enemy as much as possible.
The undead servants summoned by Death Apostle’s Hymn were quickly dealt with.
There were simply too many enemies.
Wave after wave of relentless attacks rained down on them. Wind-type pet beasts and fire-type pet beasts combined their powers to burn away the blood shields, while undead creatures launched surprise attacks from underground, making it impossible to guard against every assault.
The amount of blood Alia could manipulate was dwindling…
It seemed as though victory for Wang Hongxi’s group was inevitable, while Su Yu was on the verge of collapse.
Alia glanced at Su Yu with a flicker of concern.
Su Yu returned her gaze with a reassuring smile. “It’s time!”
He pulled out a small knife and sliced open his palm, scattering his blood into the air.
The crowd was bewildered. Why was he suddenly self-harming?
“Alia! Inject my blood into their bodies!”
Alia didn’t understand his intent but followed his command nonetheless.
She condensed Su Yu’s blood into hundreds of undetectable fine needles, which shot into each of the opposing pet beasts!
The needles struck without causing any visible harm.
Wang Hongxi, after receiving some healing, sneered. “Ha! Is that all you’ve got? Look at that—no damage at all!”
Liang Chen laughed along with him. “Hahaha, Su Yu, so what if you’ve reached the Transcendence Realm? Do you actually think you can single-handedly defeat all of us?”
The rest of the group, though slightly unnerved, began to relax. A student named Li Da remarked, “He and that vampire really are strong. It’s taken all of us over fifteen minutes of relentless attacks to even tire them out.”
Wang Hongxi, holding his gap-filled mouth, barked, “Attack! Finish him off!”
The group commanded their pet beasts to charge again, with Jiang Ying’s Sunflower leading the pack.
Alia leaned against Su Yu’s back and whispered, “My blood reserves are almost depleted…”
Su Yu patted her gently. “You’ve done more than enough. Leave the rest to me.”
In front of over seventy pet beasts, Su Yu stood tall, carrying Alia on his back. His eyes burned with determination, showing no trace of fear.
On Rose Plaza, the watching students murmured among themselves:
“Is this the end for him?”
“If Alia hadn’t fallen in rank, they wouldn’t have lost like this.”
“This just proves Su Yu is too reliant on Alia. Doesn’t he have no talent of his own?”
To most observers—including Shangguan Ling—it seemed that Su Yu’s defeat was inevitable.
Only Ning Hanwen kept his gaze firmly locked on Su Yu.
A Beastmaster capable of taming a God-Tier Sequence could not possibly be ordinary.
—
Amidst the encircling beasts—strange creatures, predatory plants, and undead spirits—Su Yu stood on the hill, positioning himself slightly to the side. He raised his right arm, opened his hand, and spread his fingers wide.
“Beasts.”
“This king commands you all—”
“Slit your own throats!”
Blood continued to drip from his right hand.
That frail figure, trembling and seemingly on the verge of collapsing, radiated an unshakable sense of confidence.
The crowd was ready to scoff. The spectators on Rose Plaza shook their heads in disbelief—until something inexplicable happened.
The beasts, undead, and predatory plants froze where they stood. They turned to face Su Yu, and though they lacked the ability to speak, they found ways to produce sounds:
“Yes. All glory to our king!”
—
S-Rank Talent: Crown of Blood!
Beings injected with even a trace of Su Yu’s blood became his loyal blood servants for a short time! They could neither resist nor disobey!
—
“Schk!”
Seventy pet beasts simultaneously severed their own heads!
A crimson mist engulfed the battlefield as blood stained the earth. Severed branches from the plants, the heads of beasts, and the dissipating souls of the undead created a nightmare-like scene.
Wang Hongxi and the other Beastmasters stood frozen, their mouths agape as they witnessed the impossible.
Shock. Fear. Trembling. Terror.
The overwhelming fear left them speechless, as if it would shatter every ounce of their willpower.
Even the spectators on Rose Plaza were stunned.
How could this be possible?
“My god, what sort of ability is this? Is it his talent? Or Alia’s?”
“No, Alia is clearly exhausted. This must be Su Yu’s talent!”
“Why did they suddenly obey his commands?”
“I get it now! Earlier, Alia injected Su Yu’s blood into the beasts’ bodies. That’s his talent!”
“Unbelievable… what a terrifying ability!”
—
Carrying Alia on his back, Su Yu walked to where Wang Hongxi knelt, trembling uncontrollably.
“No… this is fake! It’s all fake!” Wang Hongxi stammered.
Su Yu’s tone was filled with disdain. “This is the command of a king.”
“A king’s orders cannot be defied.”
“And you? You’re not even worthy of being killed by me.”
Su Yu raised his foot and stomped on the back of Wang Hongxi’s head, driving it into the ground.
“Bang!”
Wang Hongxi struggled for a few seconds before falling unconscious.
Su Yu then turned his gaze to Song Qi, Liang Chen, and the others, who were now sobbing and groveling on the ground, their earlier arrogance completely replaced by pitiful begging.
“Get lost.”
Considering that this was an entrance exam, Su Yu decided against causing a large-scale bloodbath. After all, he was about to become a student at Magic City Beastmaster University. If this had been in the actual demonic lair, he would have killed them without hesitation.
This was just an exam—he couldn’t make the school look too bad.
The group, as if receiving a royal pardon, scrambled to tear up their admission certificates and withdrew from the test.
Finally, Su Yu turned his gaze to Jiang Ying.
